Thanks for sharing. My brother Archie, had an idea that turned out absolutely fantastic. He found out that there was an ice fishing shanty for sale and bought it. Then he hauled it to the back woods and tweaked it a bit and made a smoker out of it. We used it for decades. He used to smoke mackerel and herring in it and the mackerel is a fatty fish and both turned out so delicious.
@@dannybrown5217 ,the shanty needed repairs to remain a fishing hut but,a smoker was far more beneficial and financially gainful for him. As they say, someones trash is someone else's treasure. :)
How fun! You must love that new smoker, and it’s fun to get a new cooking appliance and experiment and learn all about it. If it gets up to 350 you should be able to bake in that and have an outside baking option on hot summer days. We use our pellet grill for baking in the summer. I’ve done all kinds of crazy stuff on my grill from cakes to cookies, meats, veggies, etc. If you haven’t tried smoked salmon you have to. When I lived in California we used to go out of San Francisco Bay on a boat and catch our salmon. We’d bring it home, brine it, and then smoke it. I’d often use lemon pepper as the seasoning and put fresh lemon slices on top of it when it was smoking….so delicious. Have a great time with your new smoker and I’ll look forward to seeing more of your adventures with it!

The fish and the pheasant looks awesome!! Fall is great for smoking. My husband has smoked salmon, trout, turkey, chicken, ribs--all delish! Thanks for sharing Mr. and Mrs Brown--just love your videos.
Did you rinse your breast meat and fish when you were done with the brine? The salt my have been added to the dry tasting issue along with the higher temp. We’ve been using apple juice sprayed on pork butt, and ribs every hour while cooking temp is at 180*. For pork ribs try 3,2,1. 3 hrs smoke, 2 hrs wrap in foil with 1/8 C apple juice and 5 Tbl butter, and 1 hr resting (no heat, it will continue to cook in the foil) moist and very flavorful! Have fun with your new smoker!
Yes, I rinsed the breast, it was good, thanks for the tip on pork butts, ribs, we have a huge smoker, that uses regular size fire wood, does a great job. But alot of work! God Bless, xoxoxo
Another good video, my husband said he would love to visit and enjoy any meal. LOL. He wanted to know where you got your pheasant? He has always wanted to try some. He used our smoker a lot, some years back, but it was the big one that he had to watch, add too, etc all night. This looks easier. Thanks for all the information. Blessings to you both.

You totally need to smoke salmon . We grew up on it . Caught it , smoked it , fried it , Canned it , baked it .....deliciousness ❤️ mix the left over the next day like tuna ... mmmmm mmmm
We were given a propane smoker, need to try it on some chicken and fish. We will brine both for 12-24 hours then smoke with Applewood chips. Hoping it turns out well and we'll keep the time down, checking inside temps. Thanks for the tips and suggestions.
When you get ready to smoke the pork, will there be leftover pheasant and fish smell in the smoker or does that wipe out or burn out? How does that work? W's wife.

Does this need to be under a roof? Or can you cook outside like a grill? Might have to buy one. Smoked salmon is the best cold on a bagel with cream cheese. I promise . Sliced Onion and tomato too.
Well you might need to cover it with a tarp to keep it from getting messed up from weather, I keep mine on the porch, it's so easy to use, I smoked a 5 pound pork shoulder Saturday, it took 4, 4 1/2 hours, with a rub, it was so good! Xoxoxo
I've never done any smoking of meats. This that you guys are using looks really cool! And the outcome looked DELICIOUS! Great job for the first time using it! I'm impressed! God bless.
Did u do the corn ? I heard people smoking Mac n cheese... I want one... we make our own sausage, and boudin...and doing it in a homemade smoker is hard work..u have to watch it poke it and add wood,,,..it look so yum ..I’m thinking turkey..😋
Great job with the smoker. Please don't down yourself 'cause it's gas. Food turned out great and that's all that matters! It doesn't matter the smoker, what matters is the end result! You'll soon be experts using it. Can't wait for the next smokin' adventure.
Looks like the Pit Boss meets Mr. Brown's high expectations! 👍😎👍 I have been a die hard charcoal fan all my life but last week I just did not have the energy to keep filling the smoker to do ribs. This might be a better option for our family too. God bless you both, Rob
I just bought one and im ready to cook. Ive become disabled and cant do bending over and all the constant messing around to keep a girl going with the charcoal or wood so I bought one of these and hope I can continue to cook because I’ve kind of given up on it
I am lovin this smoker😉. The added benefit of baking outside in the summer. Makes it even better. I’ve never smoked meat before but have always wanted to. This looks like a great wast to start. Thanks for sharing sister❤️. God bless y’all!!!😍
I actually have 2 electric smokers and love them. I smoke salmon regularly but don’t usually brine them. But I found that my digital thermometer is now my best friend. Have fun! The food looked yummy. Fake Lasagna and mac and cheese come out really good and it’s easy to put together. No precooking.

You can smoke a farm fresh ham, a big ol roast
Oh, sounds so good! Xoxoxo
@@WhippoorwillHoller Mr. Brown can cut a big slit in top of the roast and fill it with bacon and cheese and marinade it it better than bouillon
When you get ready to smoke the pork, will there be leftover pheasant and fish smell in the smoker or does that wipe out or burn out? How does that work? W's wife.
Subscribed today and so glad I did. I have already seen about ten vids and I love them. Love your stories, animals, and of course your cooking. Looking forward to seeing more. 😉👍🏻❤️

@@dannybrown5217 , your welcome love the videos you and the MISS show us i grew up on a farm as a child and have lots of good memories watching your video's tack me back to my childhood, danny brown my son in laws dad is danny brown but we all call him pa,pa, dan i saw gour name and i said i know a danby brown to.
Mr. Brown did your pheasant have a fish taste on it?
He said no, the fish didnt drip, or our bass out of the river or lakes here dont have a strong fish smell or taste, really good xoxoxo
Xoxoxo
Wow looking delicious ..thank you ..I am enjoying your food right a long with you guys ..espcially that crispy corn ...God Bless you guys ..
Thank you, Genevieve God Bless
I've never done any smoking of meats. This that you guys are using looks really cool! And the outcome looked DELICIOUS! Great job for the first time using it! I'm impressed! God bless.
❤ Thank you -
Thank you for watching Marci
Just found your Channel may I ask have you put out a video on making your own sausage I would love to see your take on it.
I sure do , it's one of my older videos, xoxoxo
Did u do the corn ? I heard people smoking Mac n cheese... I want one... we make our own sausage, and boudin...and doing it in a homemade smoker is hard work..u have to watch it poke it and add wood,,,..it look so yum ..I’m thinking turkey..😋
So much youcan do, and with these gas smokers. So easy! Xoxoxo
Great job with the smoker. Please don't down yourself 'cause it's gas. Food turned out great and that's all that matters! It doesn't matter the smoker, what matters is the end result! You'll soon be experts using it. Can't wait for the next smokin' adventure.
Thank you Rick
What do phanseant taste like I want to try it.
Taste like wild Turkey! Xoxoxo
@@WhippoorwillHoller Thank you.

I think we could use more people like the browns.
Looks like the Pit Boss meets Mr. Brown's high expectations! 👍😎👍 I have been a die hard charcoal fan all my life but last week I just did not have the energy to keep filling the smoker to do ribs. This might be a better option for our family too.
God bless you both,
Rob
It is easier I am ready to try some ribs
We are the same way Rob, the older we get, it's like the simpler , the better, the smoked fish was awesome! God Bless, xoxoxo
Good ideal bud
I just bought one and im ready to cook.
Ive become disabled and cant do bending over and all the constant messing around to keep a girl going with the charcoal or wood so I bought one of these and hope I can continue to cook because I’ve kind of given up on it
I am lovin this smoker😉. The added benefit of baking outside in the summer. Makes it even better. I’ve never smoked meat before but have always wanted to. This looks like a great wast to start. Thanks for sharing sister❤️. God bless y’all!!!😍
Time will tell if we can bake in it
I think I'm going to like it! Xoxoxo
I think I'm really going to like my gas smoker! Xoxoxo
When I said aluminium I meant aluminum foil to line your water & grease trays.
