    9:05 😲 - Those angle iron tools are amazing. I could go for some BBQ right about now.

    There's only one word for what you've shown us, Jimmy: artistry. Incredible, the amount of tricks and ingenuity, from the damper in the chimney to the repurposed clamp for your air inlet. Just the sheer combination of recycled parts, yet it looks purpose-built. Those were 27 dense minutes!

      @@jimmydiresta Agree with all that. Great ideas yadda. Are ya gonna install some kinda DIROTISSERIE? (nudge/wink) Gotta remember chickins and roasts and briskets and turkeys and such, no?
      I made a similar deal in Peru from a 2' diam x 1/2" wall thickness x 3' length of steel pipe stolen from the gold mine I was workin at. Held heat excellently. And required a fork lift to move. I'm sure that expanded steel grate was NOT galvanized--zinc imparts a peculiar flavor.

    I don't think I've ever been as jealous of another man's tools as I am of the angle-iron specific bar cutter, notcher and folder. It's like an Ironworker but without all the hydraulics.

    So, been watching smoker vids for a while now, cooking, building, etc..., and being from Queens, envious of everyone in Texas and other states where they have the room and culture to support this craft.     This is the best smoker that I have seen of the hundreds that can be seen on youtube, all the details of the heat pass gate, the firebox with insulation to keep the heat, your smoker is fantastic, applause to the teacher

    This is the 2nd time I watched this and it hit me how crazy heavy duty this bbq is compared to super thin sheet metal bbqs you get at Home Depot. Your bbq/smoker looks like it weighs a 1000lbs...nicely done. Also I loved the use of custom linkages and doors all over that thing. Sweet design! 🤙

    ok ... Ridiculous and insane at the same time, but in the most wonderful way !!!
    Me and my brother was searching for videos on how to turn a water heater, or were we are from, geysers, into smokers.
    And then you land on videos like these ....
    We were a actually fighting about the steel sheets he used for the wood box / fire box. I said that he must have bought an armored truck on an auction, and chopped it up to make this beautiful, "Bulletproof", / "Insolated", smoker.
    This is SO next level, that i kept on asking him, why are we still watching this, because obviously we do not have that type of skill, or that type of workshop for that matter ....
    And still, we kept on watching ...
    Truly a magnificent peace of art work, "MAD MAX" style !!!

    In any Diresta fabrication video there is always at least 1 time where I have no idea what he is making a part for, and then it is completed and I'm blown away at the enginuity. That happened more than once in this one.

    Jimmy i know you've been doing this for a long time, but have you tried using a EQ to reduce the high frequency noise on those sped up sections? it may make it a little more pleasing sound wise

    I like how you took the to fireproof insulate your smoker… I tied it once in Washington state and it helps a lot during the colder months to keep the temperature steady … thank you for sharing. 🤙🏽
