- CLK Class convertible Roof Diagnosis: A209, W209 Mercedes Benz soft top.
In this video, I demonstrate how to diagnose the Hydraulic Roof system of a Mercedes CLK Class using MB Star SD Connect and Foxwell. I will go through the steps involved in scanning the system with the diagnostic tools and identifying any faults and errors.
One of the key components of the Hydraulic Roof system are the micro-switches, which ensure that the roof moves correctly and safely. During the video i will identify and name all the roof micro-switches, including:
1. Soft-top switch: located in the center console, controls the opening and closing of the soft-top.
2. Compartment lid switch: located on the trunk lid, detects whether the compartment lid is open or closed.
3. Cover switch: located on the front of the soft-top compartment, detects whether the cover is open or closed.
4. Left and right locking pin switches: located on the windshield frame, detect whether the locking pins are engaged or not.
5. Bow switch: located on the soft-top compartment, detects whether the bow is fully raised or lowered.
By identifying and testing these micro-switches, we can determine any faults in the system and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during operation.

Hello, this 17-minute video was captured during a 2 week process, so a lot of thoughts and diagnosis was involved and I gained a lot experience, wish I knew all the points on day one. I am sure this will help someone out there. Please like and subscribe if it would... at the beginning, I talked about all the Fuses and relay involved and ate end most of the CLK micro-switches...
Thank you for your video. I had the same problem. Windows down, nothing else. No leaks and no pump action. Excellent video
Thanks mate, 😊
what a great video thank you for sharing your hard work
Thanks for watching 👀
if the hydraulic fluid is below the minimum line but still a good amount of fluid, do you think filling it would fix my top?
You should avoid this simplest issue in the first place. Those 9 cylinders take a lot of fluid. You really need to have the correct amount in there.
Nice video. How did u remove the micro switch and fixed the stuck small chrome door
Thank you, The chrome cover was stuck, I took the trim from other side and played with the cover few times and it started to work again, I did not remove the micro-switche.
Do you have any insight on replacing the main top line left (passenger) side?
Can you explain more please?
The hydraulic line leading to the front driver side got kinked and split so I need to replace the hydraulic line
@@ksamtf unfortunately I have no experience with that.
Good video
Thank you, Allan :)
Interesting, thanks
👍
Hoping this is exactly what is going on with mine.
Easy to check...
