Bloody Brilliant. I love it when you touch down and keep the glider inflated so effortlessly and then take off and do another demonstration and then do it again for another demonstraion. Marvellous!.
you are a very good pilot, with a great giving heart , a great profetional teacher and a very talented instructor . i never saw somebody like you with so mutch pation to healp the others to succes .you are something special , sometimes i even cant belive that people like you exist in realety
Excellent tips thanks. I wish you had been my teacher when I was learning! I have watched 3 of your videos now and learnt valuable information from each one. 👍👍
Watching this, I realized this same technique would be handy if I'm landing somewhat off of straight upwind. For example, I sometimes try to land on a car track that isn't lined up with the wind. I've just been running it out on a diagonal which isn't so easy sometimes in low wind landings.
Hi Marc, great videos and I am well jealous of your man cave! The technique I like for side landings is to use what I call the crossed control method - lean hard into the hill with weight shift and keep on track with outside brake. This makes sense to me because if you overcook the outside brake and get an insipient spin - it turns you out from the hill. Using this method the wing is crabbing inefficiently across (but slightly in to) the face of the slope - where you may still be in the lift band. The cross controls reduces the efficiency of the wing and helps the descent. As you get close to the ground, reduce the weight shift and add inside brake to touch down. This method is like how I used to land my old biplane that didn't have flaps so needed to be side slipped in.
@@leavesleyaviation I had a share in a Stolp Starduster Too and I used to blag a go in my mates Pitts S2B which was an absolute beast - landing at 100 mph sideways. I have given up GA as I felt the cost benefit equation wasn't making sense. I have lost my heart to paragliding - I love it. I am far from being a talented paraglider pilot and I am pretty low time, but I have already had some magical flights. I would love to fly with you sometime.
@@nigelcowley6866 I came very close to buying a Pitt’s S1 at the PFA Rally many years ago, ace plane, yes love the starduster too, I will get another plane 100% but paragliding life is my main concern still, I am sure we will meet at some point buddy.👍🙏🪂
Hi Marc, Just found your channel - liking it! thx I fly mostly in Austria, Italy & Switzerland (typically TO @ 2000 / LZ @ 500) for more than 20 years and see many flatland / hill flyers having a problem visualizing thermal, wind, trigger points and turbulence/lee influences at different levels and surfaces - think it would make a great vid to take on such a subject... ? I'm still learning things every time I fly :-) so, I hesitate to throw in my tips.
I payed my instructor over $2000 and he didn't give me 1/100th of the info I can get from your videos. He payed attention to me every time I mentioned payment though.
Awesome stuff.... I have looked for side landing videos, so as to get me ready for when the covid ban is lifted... (who's reading this in 2030 and remembers covid as that thing that stopped us from flying for far too long) ... I can tell you there aren't that many side landing videos, this one is the best on the internet and the ONLY one that has allowed me to get my head around just what I need to do to perfect those side landings, brilliant stuff, thanks for your efforts.... Looking forward to what ever episode 5 brings 😁
LOL, watching it in 2023 and still thinking why the Hell they had to stop the Planet, for a bit of stronger flu... 🤡 Cheers... BTW, Marc's videos are still the best instructional videos even this year...!!!
Hi, I was wondering if I could apply this method on a flat landing zone if for some reason on a U shape approach I have not enough time or height to make a 180 degree turn but only a 90 degree turn ?
speed is your friend on landings in no winds keep that speed up and legs down early and landings in all sorts of ways and angles are possible, the top red bull x alps pilots do some truly incredible landings.
@@leavesleyaviation Thanks. So as long as I have enough speed it's possible to "land" sideways and brake on the good side at the very last moment to get the wing into the wind ?
@@nonobebert7646 Well it takes skill and guidance by a professional and good timing before you should try it yourself but thats up to you buddy. Stay safe.
Great work
Thank you.
Nice teaching sir. You are great 👍👍👍
Thank you
You’re definitely #1 when it comes to paragliding instructional videos. Keep up the great work.
Wow that's super cool of you to say, thank you i'm glad your enjoying them.
I love the way you give multiple examples.
I feel it should be that way, so people get it.
As usual you awesome.

Excellent demonstration. Thanks!
Thank you. Your instructions are fabulous.
Thanks very much.
excellent, this video goes to playlist "worth seeing multiple times" :-)
Thank you so much! Great instructions 🙏🏼
Excellent demonstration. Thanks for sharing.
These tutorials are so good. Full of useful information. And lots of repeats and variations.
Thank you 🙏🪂
love it thank you
THANKS 🙂
Love your vids dude. I’m an advanced Paramotor pilot, but have just received my P2 free flight certification. These videos are definitely informative!
Yes I love PPG too buddy, well done on the P2
Love this! Thanks Marc! Probably you have saved many a sprained ankle, thanks!
It still takes practise and timing but it works spot on, hope you do well with it, let me know.
I really love you videos!!..
🙏😉👍🪂
Love these instructional videos Mark. I learned so much from them! Thank you!
Thanks pal.
And another wanderfuly informative lesson, really like your simple, repetitive type of explanation, it works magic for learning, thank you so much!

Thanks chris glad you enjoy them mate.
Instruction bang on great vid cheers
Great video Mark, makes perfect sense. I look forward to seeing the cobra launch vid.
It’s already live on my channel bud!!

Wonderful and very informative. I love your style and enthusiasm for what you are teaching! Keep them coming. So glad I found your RUclips site.

Yes this will work mate.👍🪂
I've come in too fast for years this should sort me out. thanks
I hope so please let me know Melvin.
Wie immer ... super erklärt , viele Grüsse aus dem Schwarzwald .
vielen Dank.
Thank you for this. How does this technique change with no wind coming up the slope? You do say “what wind there is” so maybe no change?
Exactly the same buddy, remember speed is your friend when doing this.👊🪂

What Bipe did you have? I used to own a renegade spirit myself, loved it but paragliding took over my life.

Thanks Mark, another great resource for pilots.
Videos are getting even better too, your production values are gettiing slick.
