    Marc I watch your videos over and over and each time I get a new breakthrough of understanding. I’ve never flown as I’ve mentioned but would like to before I get much older. Time is running out so I am really paying attention to your instructions. You inspire me enough to think you’re never too old to learn new tricks if one has the passion. I’ve got it for sure and when and if I start a formal training I want to be ahead of the learning curve. That’s where your wonderful instructions come in. I never get tired of listening and learning from you. Keep up the good work and thanks for taking the time to make the videos. You put a lot of work effort and heart into every episode.

    What really helped me was learning to connect the wing to the harness the way you do it mate. I believe there's a lot of pilots out there that havn't learned that yet and it's an absolute game changer!! 👊🪂

    Hey Mark, great video here on one of those soft skills that few people tell you about that saves masses of stress on launch. Keep it up, love these :)
    Took me a while to realise how much time a concertina bag and a planned approach to packing the wing away saves time.

    Mi Marc!
    Great that you are teaching newcomer great skills!
    The only tip I can add: Try to LEAVE your glider CONNECTED to your harness!
    Mine only comes off the harness when I trim the lines!
    -> This will greatly reduce the chance of making mistakes, and you won't struggle with the rigging or line-sorting in the wind (as much).
    You still have to be alert to avoid the rare case of the harness being "overturned" once over itself during a sloppy packing.
    But most errors are eliminated.
    PS: You can even go as far as routing your speed-bar-line all the way from the riser through both riser-pulleys, then down through the Harness-pulley to the bar: No knots = no errors and nothing can block it!

      Heah thanks Ulrich,yes I used to teach the students that way but unfortunately they all got into terrible twists so it took a lot longer for me to get them going, your quite right when you master that way it can be very quick, who knows whats best but we all have our ways that work for us, I think pilots will maybe change things after they pass out the course to what they feel works better for them. fly safe pal and thanks for the good idea.

    Really enjoyed that.... As someone thats been out of it for a while, I appreciate any refreshers I can find... I can watch these kind of videos all evening long, until the lockdown is finally over.... Hope you continue with this series, I know the efforts that go into this kind of stuff, even with just the editing etc, so thanks very much, great work.... Great looking beard too :-)

      @@leavesleyaviation I agree, thanks. Learning from these videos is just an extra in the arsenal of learning. I have lapsed my PPL on fixed wings but am a current qualified Ocean Captain having owned and sailed my own blue water sailboats and have windsurfed on the ocean. Although the principles of some aspects of the different sports are the same, I know that paragliding is very different in many ways, so I know that paragliding is best approached with learning properly to increase the safety margins.

    Great video!
    Question, why not putting the concertina bag on the downwind side? Or behind the paraglider?

  • @turkeyphant
    @turkeyphant 2 года назад +1

    I was always taught to keep the wing connected to the harness. What are the pros and cons of this?
    Also, are there any tricks for not getting the lines tangled between the two risers when packing?

    • @leavesleyaviation
      @leavesleyaviation  2 года назад

      Do what suits you but I personally fly many wings in a day so use my harness and just connect to who ever is wanting me to fly there wing, if your happy staying connected then do so, I do sometimes but I do find it not as tidy packing connected. 🪂🙏👍
