Remove the little gear from the distributor housing and put a small washer in behind it. That moves the gear forward to a spot where the teeth are still good. I did that on my 72 and when I sold it 8 years later the tach was still working fine.
Better looking too. And wider wheels. And no giant bus steering wheel. And better aerodynamics than the “bad airplane” C2. And disc brakes on all 4 wheels (though later year C2 had them too). And roomier.
