We need it to become an actual movie starring Glen .. like im talking an actual movie with a plot where he comes across one after another axe that might destroy america haha 🤘 and ofc he needs to tame the power of the beasts
I know someone worked in the Gibson factory for years. He’s the kind of guy who likes to take cheap guitars and get as much out of them as he can, so he’s a big fan of Squier and Epiphone. Whenever his time at Gibson comes up, he goes on about how they wanted everything set up to “vintage spec” which really comes down to mile-high action, and how Japan (Yes, not just a Japanese based company, but the nation of Japan) would send the guitars back with the headstocks sawn off as a fuck-you way of saying “Do it again but do it right this time.” I think it speaks volumes that someone who worked assembly at Gibson would still rather play a used, souped up Squier.
This has been my philosophy for the past 20 years. Having worked in multiple music stores, from mom and pop to the big box stores… From St. Louis, Missouri, I am building my 10th squire parts caster Guitar. This one is a P bass. I have spent maybe 2 to 3k( over 20 years, some real pieces of shit peppered in their also) and have a collection of the best playing easy to maintain and sound amazing guitars I have ever played/owned in my life. This includes all the hi-end money grab collectors pieces the big guys put out, I was able to play while working at said stores (not own, could never afford.) Now in my life, I can afford the “high end stuff” and I get more excited about new epi/squire stuff, to mod, than anything the big guys put out. I swap necks, pickups, new bridges/tuners. I have learned more from my own experimentation than any dumb guitar rag could ever sell me on. Glen thank you for what you do smash the mythical bull shit and just play around learn to mod, and keep more money in your pocket. There has never been a better time in history to learn how to build, fix, repair even make your own instruments. Death to cork sniffer tone snobs!!!
UNREAL - I just noticed this video in my "daily feed", and when I saw the duration was 9 HOURS (and 7 minutes), you really piqued my interest, and the video stood out like "sore thumb" along with the thumbnail. I have been a bit busy and away from "the music scene" and I have not watched any musician-related videos for quite a while. I look forward very much to investigating this video soon, as it's been over a year since I commented on one of your videos, and you were kind enough at that moment to acknowledge and address the comment within the live stream that you were hosting, within a few seconds. I consider you a genius studio owner/operator, product reviewer, and content creator, with an unmatched level of knowledge and insight at all levels of spectrum as to what products are on the market, what they cost, how well they perform, and you truly have a unique presentation style to boot. I do not know if this video is actually 9 hours in duration, or if it was a "marketing move", but you earned a "thumbs up" already, just for the thumbnail image, video title, and duration. Thanks, and have a great weekend. _John_ (-,-)
You have to review a Vola. The decked Oz model is $1400 and it goes toe-to-toe with USA made Suhr or Anderson for less than half the price. Seriously, right out of the box mine was flawless.
Joining the "letting this play overnight to get more gear reviews" club! Absolutely epic Glenn! Keep up the great work, f**k you, and cheers from Sri Lanka!
Initially when I saw that the video was nine hours I thought, "Fuck that, I'm not watching a nine hour video." But then I realized that I'd be watching Glenn's videos all day regardless so I might as well watch this one. Queue the Starship Troopers "I'm doing my part" meme.
It would be awesome if you did something like Linus tech tips’ secret shopper series. I know you have done secret shopper stuff before, but Linus does 6 of the biggest brands every year and simulates a broken piece to go through customer service with each brand. I think if this channel turned that concept into getting 6 entry level guitars from big brands it would be awesome
Hey big fan and love it when you stick it to the whiners who complain about everything. Idea for comparison video: take your soldano amp and play through your Harley Benton cab with 212 vintage celestions. Then compare it to your peavy 6505 played through your best and most expensive cab, use same guitar and no computer mixing to help. Who wins. Rock on brother. If they is a different try to even it out with boss EQ pedal 7 band.
Howdy Glenn, first time commenting, but have been watching for a very long time. Was wondering, since you like V's so much, which V has been your favorite so far? I had an ltd ninja 600 and a schecter atx V, but im trying to find one to replace those beauties. Thanks from Arron in Louisiana!
Is that right? 9 hours of guitar reviews? Uhmm Wow, Ill give ya an hour. If I watched for 9 hours, I would never watch your channel again. Most wont watch a blockbuster movie if its over 3 hours. I love ya but im quite offended that you expect me to watch a 9 hour video
Just bought 3 knock off guitars from China. NJ mockingbird (luv it), so I bought 2 more. An extreme warlock and a BVi V. Can't wait to check them out. Yeah, had to pleck the frets, but they weren't sharp, and played right out of the styro/ box. Maybe you could do a review on them. The BVi was the most expensive, under $350 USD. 🤘😈
Might I suggest time stamping every video from now on? Not everyone has time to watch an entire video, or the attention span for that matter, and could benefit by coming here to skip right to where it is they wanna go (that is if you're demoing something or talking about one specific thing that catches someones interest).
Finally. I've waited for this video. I'll try to make it through the whole thing. After watching your video again about the S by Solar VB4.6C, I decided to order one for myself the last night. Your videos are pure gold for a beginner like me, who simply likes to own more than one guitar but wants to stay in the budget section. Thank you so much. Greetings from Germany and keep up your good work.
Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance= hand me down cassette age 11 in 1982. FIRST rock music exposure. Also loving that LTD violet, red Solar V1 (18hr 17 min mark) and Vicious :O Ola's got me at that chop shop Blitz "The body is sent to a double secret location where it is specially electrocuted by an expert with more than 10,000 volts (do not try at home)."
Thank you for voicing the truth about Gibson, the company that buys and destroys companies. I am from Kalamazoo, so I have some reason for loyalty but I also own a Jersey bound Steinberger that due to the buyout was in mothballs because of a spring that I couldn't get from Gibson and Ed Roman. Voided the lifetime warranty, what a shit company. BTW my first guitar was an early 60's Gibson Marauder, a cheap model that was amazing and I played for years. My guitarist sent 3 Les Pauls back to the factory because brand new instruments we shipped BROKEN!! F GIBSON!!!!!!!
I love the Amarok I will have one eventually...great video Glenn...u fucking rock bro...just finished 9 hours of pure epicness...please review the Brendon Small ghosthorse and fuck off
15 min. left! STILL Haven't refreshed, and when I made this comment, still only 923 likes, and 10,496 views. It'll be cool to see what that updates to when I'm done watching. COOL SHIT GLENN!
Thank you Glen! I’m so happy! SSS’s is new to me. Only discovered you earlier this year. So catching up on any topic let alone the entire library felt impossible. So this is absolutely perfect, thank you- I MEAN! F’k YOU GLEN! 😅
Hey, Glen! I tried to play around and find my all time favorite clean tone: JC-120 w/chorus (like the one on... well... "One" by Metallica). Unfortunately those amps are stereo: one speaker puts out dry signal, the other - wet. It would not be a problem... If I had one... Or at leas a cab... and a mic to record it. I'm using IRs, but those are actually mono and applying same "effect" to both stereo channels. Since microphone would pick up both speakers regardles, and with a different characteristics for each... How should I approach this, to get the tone as close to real thing as possible? (Maybe it's time to introduce stereo IRs?) Fսсk you, and thanks!
9 hours long? Will you be also taste testing tubes? 12BX7’s are in season right now, though I’m not certain they’ll work in a guitar amp but are tasty in a chefs salad with a vinaigrette. EL89’s are also in season, mix them in oatmeal……. 😋🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Still love your channel Glenn and appreciate these videos with no bullshit.
Glen, Gibson made 2 runs of Explorer head stocks with Les Paul body. You can see it on the Trology guitar show. I would love the have a Gibson US1 made in the late 80’s looks just like Jackson fender body guitars, 3 toggle switches for each pick up’s. Screams 80’s and has the holy grail Gibson car dealership raised Gibson logo.🙄
HAHAHAHAHA! I didn't even realize that this is over 9 hours long! I love what you did here, Glenn! Every guitar that will destroy America put in one video. I would expect a nightly visit by a bunch of Mounties, who will deliver you within an hour to US Homeland Security. MegaDeth to Murica, one guitar at a time! 🤣
9 hours? Sorry Glenn, that's too much for my ADHD brain. But I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your efforts and work. You helped me a lot, especially through tough times in my musician life and personal life. And I know, I can click anywhere. I can let it run on mute and in the background. If I can help, I will. Greetings from Northern Germany Your long-time follower Jan :)
Hey Glenn. Last week i went to try out the Epiphone Korina Explorer. Is it expensive for an epiphone? Yes but it felt amazing when I tried it out. everything was done properly and the set up was fantastic. But, considering how you have more experience with guitars, it would be REALLY nice if you can check the guitar out. LOVE ur brutal honesty !
11:36 Hilarious man! My 82/83 Kramer Focus 2000 with original Floyd Rose, has been so abused! Knocked over, dropped, cold/heat, stays in tune great! 🤣 I pretty much learned in this guitar, didn't know how to take care of, I traded a car for it to a friend so my soon to be ex wouldn't get the car, I was Army had to come home settle shit and go back to Germany with this understanding guitar! 😂
I am 6:16 into this (took a 3 hour nap lol) and what I can tell you Glenn is, YOU DID IT WRONG! LOL. Actually enjoying this video. I took a nap through part of it, doing some things around the house but I keep coming back when I hear something I dont remember the video from.
What about Floyd Rose tremolo that is too "floppy" when tryting to use the finetuner. It is all over the place and that is is very disturbing to me. Is it possible to adjust it so that it stays "in tune" when trying to manipulate the fine tuner "screws"? Now it's very hard to use and I can't touch it without everything goes "haywire" juat by "looking" at it??? Or is there an other tremolo contruction type that works better? I have an old Jackson that use a Wilkinson style tremolo, knifedge style, but I haven't tried it yet. The rumor is old Ibanez tremolo guitars from the 80:s is supposed to be very good using the tremolo? I have a couple of old Yamahas with different style tremolos but I haven't really used them enough to determine which works best. And the "newer" type Floyd Rose which you can put on any guitar without any "wood working" involved. I haven't seen them "live" / "in the flesh" yet so I have'nt had the opportunity to try it. I have never had a tremolo guitar before and have litte faith in that it would ever work nice. A fixed bridge or locked tremolo is a safer bet? But that is a BIG let down having a tremolo if YOU can't use it. I really wan't to be able to perform "dive bombing". Is THAT too much to ask from tremolos?
Maybe I'm different, but don't you think a recording channel with 9 hours worth of guitar reviews is overkill? Go make your money, I guess, lol. It just seems like the reality TV equivelent. It's cheap and it's profitable.
Hey glen, killer video. Like many others we just played this video while working or working out and it was was great. One big qestion that would love to ask you and the community is before we spend any money on speakers, mics, pickups, and endless crap. You should spend a good day learning to work with your EQ on your amp. I have a Mark V and i was about to blow over $1000 on modifacations and additions to my rig (im waiting for you to call me an idiot) when i just started to move the knobs up and down taking away and adding sound. Shouldnt this be the case what you should do first? I hope this question gets answered on your channel and my best wishes and support!
Gleeeen! Obviously that Gibson V left you "Butthurt" of the decade. I'm not sure why you didn't return it and get a new one that would have been fine. I've got bad Gibsons in the past and simply returned it for a different one. That's the problem with shopping online for gear, you get what they sent. I remember purchasing a Godin Freeway because John McLaughlin was using them at the time. The first one I received had a twist in the neck, the replacement was great. Does that mean all Canadian guitars' are crap? Hell no! Just sayin" 😁
35:18 - Starbucks is a _better_ product? How bad is the local stuff then? Better be careful if you ever visit Australia, our coffee might blow your nuts off. Starbucks failed miserably here, 'cos it's shite, but I've heard recently they're back for more punishment.
Aloha Glenn! Maybe your pinch harmonics problem is a combination of technique and scale length. I’m almost unable to do those on anything other than a 24.75 scale length. You should check that!
After watching a good portion of these reviews i began to wonder " is there a perfect $3000 made in America mass produced guitar?" A metal guitar that has incredible specs and materials that more economic guitars can't compete with? Polished and setup with a high attention to detail ensuring high quality control? Metal asthetics either in shape or paint job or both making it an absolutely beautiful instrument? All made in America by workers all making a livable wages and are happy to work there and making a solid product? I got ads for the new fender American ultra strat with a Floyd rose along with other great specs and a killer silverburst paint job. But i cant justify that plus $2000 price unless it meets all the criteria listed above.
Thursday I'm going to Metallica's concert and returning on Monday. Guess what is going to be playing in the loop the whole time on all of my devices that stay here. By the way, Glenn your content is amazing, even if it kind of destroyed my idea what is important regarding the tone. I hope one day I'll be able to visit Canada and shake your hand. Love man!
I’ve had the Demon 7 for about 6 years now, and I swear the only time I ever have to tune it is when I change the strings lol okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but it holds tuning better than any instrument I’ve ever owned. Got mine on sale for around $425.
Watching the movie now and through the weekend cause 1 I loved seeing quite a few of these reviews. 2: SMG the first movie gotta support channel any way I can 3: My niece has shown interest in the Axe and might be a kickass Christmas present from us
In reference to the Gibson Mustaine V segment, quality control is useless if management doesn't take their QC people seriously. What are the standards for rejection or rework, etc. ? I'm wondering if it is a lazy QC employees issue or a management has low standards issue.
Glenn i recorded today with micrphones, because I was thinking wwhat you where saying in video. That the sound is not good with line out or USB? I got to say this was a huge difference, thank you . I sounded for the first time professional on a guitar when i record it by my self. 😃 From now I only record with microphones
Can get a guitar off temu for 79 bucks. Change the electronics do some feet work on the edges no less than these overpriced garbage guitars. It'll play as good sound as good or better. Fuck Gibson and fender.. Schexter ua builds a better guitar and I never liked a prs I ever touched Tone or the neck. They suck also.
It's amazing how many things I see in the gun world that compares to the guitar world. I'm a guitar novice who don't know shit, but Gibson seems a lot like the old Colt, relying on its name and expecting success just because it says Gibson. I say old Colt, because eventually they went bust and was sold to CZ who now seems to be listening to their customers. Remington same thing.
The epitome of that $2,800 Gibson and why it never had a setup is epitomized in a later (the third?) review at 25:38 - the "target market" will never notice it's unplayable.
the first video I have something to say Gibson Quit using Nitro paint it cracks and chips too fast I have a Dean from 2002 still has original finish no chips no cracks cause Why play authentic when you can get your wings Dean Guitars we are still here and Zero Fuks Given
I'll try to watch it, but I'll have to do it a little at a time. 9 hours? Thats a long video, but I'm gonna give it hell and get through it! I agree with you on the setup of the Gibson V (1stguitar). For that kind of money they should hand deliver it by a tech and set up to your liking right in front of you. No way I'd give that much for it.
Nine hours and seven minutes? They had to cut time out of Dune to get it down to three hours so people don’t walk out of the theater. I’m pretty sure RUclips doesn’t want nine hour videos. Call me crazy. And I think I’ve seen all of these videos already. I mean all these guitars… never mind.
I like ling videos. I cant actually watch most of them, but I listen to them while working on the floor. This will make my upcoming 10 hr shift mich better
I'd love to know if Gibson ever got wind of this and did something about it. It looks and sounds awesome form afar but, I wouldn't drop a avg UK months salary on this.
One trick people might be able to do to skirt mute detection (no idea if RUclips does it): there's amplification plugins. You can set them to 0%. One thing you can do is not treat this as video, but like a radio
I love explorers and Vs because they make a statement. I was worried about how a local band was gonna sound live until i saw them bust out explorers and Vs. I knew they were gonna kick ass, and they did. They send the message you want.
If this is how the algorithm gets you more views and revenue, i'll happily play this movie on the background and refresh and play it all again when it's done!
After 3 and a half hours, I had to go to bed, but your voice is not ASMR nor softly spoken, so sadly I had to mute you and go to bed to fulfill my full duration watch of this compilation.
Watching at 0.25x speed to get more of Glenn 😏
frrr wish there was a 0.01 option 😫😫😫😫😫
I just tried 0.25x and it's drunk Glenn! Hilarious.

Rags on USA because USA guitar makers suck...and I agree... while Canada makes literally nothing but overpriced syrup..
I have to say I love the humor and the playing! Dude you can shred! I love the review and the 100% honesty!
A. Gibson is trying to do a lame job
B. Gibson just doesn't give a damn
C. Gibson is incompetent
D. All of the above

Not everyone has time to watch an entire video, or the attention span for that matter, and could benefit by coming here to skip right to where it is they wanna go (that is if you're demoing something or talking about one specific thing that catches someones interest).
when will the directors cut of this be out?
😍 me staring at your Neve console!
9 hours ??? HAHA Glenn, you really took it the long way here
Man, where are the timestamps? 😂
9 hours? are you kidding?
The Spiffing Brit technique. Nice.
NINE, WAIT NINE HOURS?!??!?
Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance= hand me down cassette age 11 in 1982. FIRST rock music exposure. Also loving that LTD violet, red Solar V1 (18hr 17 min mark) and Vicious :O Ola's got me at that chop shop Blitz "The body is sent to a double secret location where it is specially electrocuted by an expert with more than 10,000 volts (do not try at home)."
HAHAHAHA THE TIMESTAMPS LMAO 🤣🤣 GLEN
Glenn! Just ordered your Northern Mauler!!! Can’t wait! Have the video playing in the other room. Just letting it play! 🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸
(Maybe it's time to introduce stereo IRs?)
Fսсk you, and thanks!
Greetings from Northern Germany
Your long-time follower
Jan :)
No guitar will destroy anything. It's metal. Loud, distorted monoharminic noise. Right up there with Americas' repubelican hoodoo.
Hey glen. Fuck you buddy! Try hitting the pick closer to the bridge pick up for your squeals. Hope that helps. Love your channel man keep rockin!!!
Love man!
RUclips likes autoplaying long videos because it assumes the people they're autoplaying them to have fallen asleep.
Totally agree. Metallica haven't done anything since the Justice album. They should have retired when they were good. Thanks, Jason N.
I’ve had the Demon 7 for about 6 years now, and I swear the only time I ever have to tune it is when I change the strings lol okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but it holds tuning better than any instrument I’ve ever owned. Got mine on sale for around $425.
People have short attention spans now-a-days. Nobody's going to watch a 9-hour RUclips video. Don't waste your time with super long videos.
Watching the movie now and through the weekend cause 1 I loved seeing quite a few of these reviews.
2: SMG the first movie gotta support channel any way I can
3: My niece has shown interest in the Axe and might be a kickass Christmas present from us
In reference to the Gibson Mustaine V segment, quality control is useless if management doesn't take their QC people seriously.
Yea… I like your channel but I’m not spending 9 hours on this lol. As others have said “TIME STAMPS!!!!!”
Can get a guitar off temu for 79 bucks.
Change the electronics do some feet work on the edges no less than these overpriced garbage guitars.
It'll play as good sound as good or better.
Fuck Gibson and fender.. Schexter ua builds a better guitar and I never liked a prs I ever touched
Tone or the neck.
The epitome of that $2,800 Gibson and why it never had a setup is epitomized in a later (the third?) review at 25:38 - the "target market" will never notice it's unplayable.
the first video I have something to say Gibson Quit using Nitro paint it cracks and chips too fast I have a Dean from 2002 still has original finish no chips no cracks cause Why play authentic when you can get your wings Dean Guitars we are still here and Zero Fuks Given
Silly music producer, destroying America is the job of the Supreme Court, not a guitar's job.
9 hours? Gordon Bennett!!! I will watch it but having seen most of these I WILL be skipping forwards.
Review the Harley Benton tube 15 amp, budget all tube amp by the guitar company you worship.
North America, South America, Central America or just the United States? #BlameChinada
I love the chapter labeling. So creative, so inspired! Love it. Good work over the years, and fuck you Glenn!
I like ling videos. I cant actually watch most of them, but I listen to them while working on the floor. This will make my upcoming 10 hr shift mich better
9 hours... Thats a lot of Glenn saying "thats for sure". Drinking game anyone, be pissed after 30 mins.
Yeah if Sweetwater decided to start their own guitar brand their finishes would have to be tootsie roll and peppermint😂 I buy them both
I thought that nukes would destroy America, but that is guitars hmmm.... interesting.
After 3 and a half hours, I had to go to bed, but your voice is not ASMR nor softly spoken, so sadly I had to mute you and go to bed to fulfill my full duration watch of this compilation.
I have it playing on my desktop while I do "Sunday stuff" around the house. Submit to the algorithm!
