The ovulation test story reminds me of one time I went to the store and bought a “pregnancy test” to take just for funsies and when it came back positive with a big dark line, I went into full blown panic mode, had a mental breakdown sobbing on the bathroom floor and was hyperventilating preparing to call my mom to ask what to do.. I decided to go all the way back to the store to buy a second one to double test and make sure, only then in the store I realized that the box said “ovulation test” I felt so fucking dumb afterwards 🤣 I have no idea how I didn’t notice the first time

I was i think 9 or 10 when my girl scout troop went to the Woman's Hospital and we took a "my body" type class. We learned about periods & why we have them & what it looks like. There was some sex ed because it's part of explaining what a period is for. But medical terms were used. It was great cause there werent any boys to make us feel nervous or embarrassed. So in the next few years we kind of became the period protectors. When our classmates who didnt get the talk started mid school day we were able to help them without making it a big deal. And i'll forever be greatful to my parents & troop leaders for taking us to that class.

Periods started before she even turned 11. She knows how her body works. She knows there are things in place to protect against pregnancy and STDs. Because we are so open, I hope that this will continue into her teen years and share anything she wants with me.

Trust me when the baby actually starts moving in your tummy you’ll know. Just wait till it’s a regular thing and your sitting or laying in bed and see a foot or hand pushing on your stomach. Both my babies did this tons and it actually hurt because they would roll and push so hard . It literally feels like a little alien trying to claw out of you. I miss those days so much . ❤️

Baby movements are the most magical thing. Though I will never have another I really miss feeling the kicks and rolls and wish I had appreciated it more. During pregnancy it’s easy to say you want it to be over but looking back, I miss it too. I definitely thought I was showing and feeling movement before I actually was, so true that when you feel it you’ll know!
It was the most amazing experience! My oldest daughter was 9lbs 6oz and 23 1/2 inches when born so in the last 6-8 weeks it was so cool to see my tummy literally roll from one side to the other and feet with little toes against my stomach. I loved putting stuff on my belly and seeing her push it off. I was jealous when I saw women use their belly as a table to eat because she would not allow it lol. But I did get to do it with my son so I felt I was able to then have the full pregnancy experience 😊

The most surprising pregnancy symptom I had that they don't warn you about was the leg cramps in the middle of the night! It started in about the 2nd trimester but I'd be just sleeping peacefully, not moving or doing anything, and suddenly my calf muscle would just start spasming and shooting pain up my leg like a mofo! If you've ever seen that family guy scene where Peter Griffin hurts his shin and just sits there for ages breathing hard... that was me in bed in the middle of the night waking up my partner.
My husband is in a major surgery right now & I almost had a breakdown and then I remembered you guys posted this video yesterday & it’s really helping me through this with keeping my mind of it! Thank you so much I really needed this…

We haven't had TV in years now. The only stuff we watch is on either streaming services or RUclips/Twitch. For my evenings I watch your podcasts after dinner, then game until 12, then listen to audio books for an hour whilst I play stardew on my switch.
I only ever leave my baby with my parents and my husband’s brother who we’re extremely close to. I have plenty of people give me shit for not letting them watch my son but frankly idgaf. You’re the mom, you know best.

Not gonna lie, the last story doesn’t sit right with me. It seems like her dad was the real asshole, considering she was in an emotionally vulnerable place when it happened. It also concerns me that they knew each other for 10 years, if they’re under 30, it seems quite creepy on the dads part.
The person in the story is acting like their dad is the boyfriend. They weren’t betrayed the dramatics, honestly. If the one telling the story was a man would they still agree that they weren’t an asshole for assaulting them? Doubt it. Most likely the dad was taking advantage of her.
I agree and disagree. I think if it was an isolated incident it totally would be that way. But considering the brother and she’s made out with other people’s father it seems to be her thing. Now do I think the dad should have been more responsible and not allowed that to happen, 100%. I bet Kendall is getting ALL sorts of advice so far.. as a mom of 3, one who is an adult rn, my very best advice would be to try to sleep/rest as much as possible before the baby comes. Am I the asshole? I gave birth to my first daughter in November. My husband really wanted my MIL to spend Christmas with us as we hadn’t spent it with her for some time. Generally I didn’t have a problem with this despite not having the closest relationship with her but since she doesn’t live close by would have to stay at our place. Again, this had never been in an issue although we have a small apartment but I wasn’t feeling up to having overnight guests while having a 1 month old. (Extra info: she doesn’t respect boundaries and would come into our bedroom every morning without knocking and while we’re still sleeping/in bed. Needless to say I assumed things wouldn’t be different when getting up with baby every few hours). I still agreed to her coming but asked if she could stay at a hotel not even 10 minutes from our apartment. She could stay all day with us but after dinner go back to the hotel. She was apparently hurt by this and felt left out and decided not to come at all. To this day she as well as my husband are still upset about the situation and consider me to be the asshole. I literally thought I was compromising by letting her come despite being sleep deprived and stressed new mom, and doing the best for everyone. To this day she still hasn’t seen her first/only grandchild and I still get the blame from my husband…. I was just trying to keep some boundaries. Am i really the asshole?
I don't think you're ever the asshole for setting boundaries. She's the one making a big deal out of it and not seeing her grandbaby is HER doing not yours. She sounds immature to me. I'm sorry I know how stressful these family dynamics can be!
I had a baby may last year with my first and I was told it’s best to wait to get 4D because the baby isn’t fully developed and looks kinda scary like alien like lol I waited and it was hard to get his face at first but he was smiling during the 4D ultrasound!
I didn’t feel any movements until about 22 weeks but I have an anterior placenta. He’s still quiet now at 35 weeks but it’s amazing how much the movements change from little bubbles like a fish swimming in your belly to full on kicks and rolls!
I remember my 1st feeling my baby move even though it was over 25 yrs, it felt like a fish whipping its tail but ever so gently. Hope this helps describe in case you ever feel this.
I felt that when Kendall said she watching simple stuff because she's pregnant! When I was pregnant I couldn't focus or emotionally handle anything other than children's films and comedies! 🤣

Watching as I get our 4 month old daughter down for a nap. So exciting to watch the growth of baby girl! Your journey is so similar to ours. I was in Josh’s position this time, ill be carrying our next but it’s awesome to be able to put into perspective. I catch myself during many of these podcasts thinking, “aww, I remember that, learning that, thinking so much, all the ultrasounds, etc..” so awesome. Fun fact from a fourth-year medical student: Most first time moms don't feel baby move until 20 weeks gestation. This is also the time when the fundus (top of the uterus) can be felt at the level of the belly button!
The soreness, « tightness and cramping feeling» that comes and goes is baby growing, in Norway we call it « growing pain» as the uterus and stomach is stretching and can be sore and give that crampy feeling🥰🥰

I had SPD in the pelvis and omg I cried everyday. Sitting on my birth ball and certain postures + positions helped! I had to sit in a chair to do the dishes. I also love belly bands and some chiros can measure you for a custom one! I hope you feel better soon or find some things that work.
@@daniann19_91 I’m so sorry! I also had it with my second. Everything I suggested can help, but doesn’t necessarily always take it away- just makes it manageable. If payment plans with a chiro still aren’t affordable you can ask your provider about a referral to see if it will cover. I couldn’t afford the chiro at the time because I was already doing a payment plan with a home birth midwife that we could barely afford.😂 She suggested a lot of magnesium supplements + spray for pelvis. It is really so uncomfortable though. You’re not alone!
Kendall, you should ask your OB or the ultrasound tech if you have an anterior placenta. It basically means your placenta is in the front of your stomach so it softens the kicks. I had it with both kids so I didn’t feel kicks very strong and couldn’t feel kicks at all until like 20 weeks. Nobody told me I had an anterior placenta until I asked why I could barely feel kicks and then they explained it. It would make sense why you can barely feel baby even though she’s so big already
I’m a mom of four, I felt the third and forth literally around the 13th week. They ended up being WAY more hyper in real life than the other two too. Haha. Such an exciting time. Congratulations

Trust me when the baby actually starts moving in your tummy you’ll know. Just wait till it’s a regular thing and your sitting or laying in bed and see a foot or hand pushing on your stomach. Both my babies did this tons and it actually hurt because they would roll and push so hard . It literally feels like a little alien trying to claw out of you. I miss those days so much . ❤️

Baby movements are the most magical thing. Though I will never have another I really miss feeling the kicks and rolls and wish I had appreciated it more. During pregnancy it’s easy to say you want it to be over but looking back, I miss it too. I definitely thought I was showing and feeling movement before I actually was, so true that when you feel it you’ll know!
It was the most amazing experience! My oldest daughter was 9lbs 6oz and 23 1/2 inches when born so in the last 6-8 weeks it was so cool to see my tummy literally roll from one side to the other and feet with little toes against my stomach. I loved putting stuff on my belly and seeing her push it off. I was jealous when I saw women use their belly as a table to eat because she would not allow it lol. But I did get to do it with my son so I felt I was able to then have the full pregnancy experience 😊

The most surprising pregnancy symptom I had that they don't warn you about was the leg cramps in the middle of the night! It started in about the 2nd trimester but I'd be just sleeping peacefully, not moving or doing anything, and suddenly my calf muscle would just start spasming and shooting pain up my leg like a mofo! If you've ever seen that family guy scene where Peter Griffin hurts his shin and just sits there for ages breathing hard... that was me in bed in the middle of the night waking up my partner.

Not gonna lie, the last story doesn’t sit right with me. It seems like her dad was the real asshole, considering she was in an emotionally vulnerable place when it happened. It also concerns me that they knew each other for 10 years, if they’re under 30, it seems quite creepy on the dads part.

I agree and disagree. I think if it was an isolated incident it totally would be that way. But considering the brother and she’s made out with other people’s father it seems to be her thing. Now do I think the dad should have been more responsible and not allowed that to happen, 100%. But I do think it is also a situation that she repeatedly does and needs to seek help bc it seems like she was coping by seeking attention from another man and seems to do so often.

I bet Kendall is getting ALL sorts of advice so far.. as a mom of 3, one who is an adult rn, my very best advice would be to try to sleep/rest as much as possible before the baby comes. I gave birth to my first daughter in November. My husband really wanted my MIL to spend Christmas with us as we hadn’t spent it with her for some time. Generally I didn’t have a problem with this despite not having the closest relationship with her but since she doesn’t live close by would have to stay at our place. Again, this had never been in an issue although we have a small apartment but I wasn’t feeling up to having overnight guests while having a 1 month old. (Extra info: she doesn’t respect boundaries and would come into our bedroom every morning without knocking and while we’re still sleeping/in bed. Needless to say I assumed things wouldn’t be different when getting up with baby every few hours). I still agreed to her coming but asked if she could stay at a hotel not even 10 minutes from our apartment. She could stay all day with us but after dinner go back to the hotel. She was apparently hurt by this and felt left out and decided not to come at all. To this day she as well as my husband are still upset about the situation and consider me to be the asshole. I literally thought I was compromising by letting her come despite being sleep deprived and stressed new mom, and doing the best for everyone. To this day she still hasn’t seen her first/only grandchild and I still get the blame from my husband…. I was just trying to keep some boundaries. Am i really the asshole?
I don't think you're ever the asshole for setting boundaries. She's the one making a big deal out of it and not seeing her grandbaby is HER doing not yours. She sounds immature to me. I'm sorry I know how stressful these family dynamics can be!

I had a baby may last year with my first and I was told it’s best to wait to get 4D because the baby isn’t fully developed and looks kinda scary like alien like lol I waited and it was hard to get his face at first but he was smiling during the 4D ultrasound!

I didn’t feel any movements until about 22 weeks but I have an anterior placenta. He’s still quiet now at 35 weeks but it’s amazing how much the movements change from little bubbles like a fish swimming in your belly to full on kicks and rolls!

I remember my 1st feeling my baby move even though it was over 25 yrs, it felt like a fish whipping its tail but ever so gently. Hope this helps describe in case you ever feel this.

Watching as I get our 4 month old daughter down for a nap. So exciting to watch the growth of baby girl! Your journey is so similar to ours. I was in Josh’s position this time, ill be carrying our next but it’s awesome to be able to put into perspective. I catch myself during many of these podcasts thinking, “aww, I remember that, learning that, thinking so much, all the ultrasounds, etc..” so awesome. I had SPD in the pelvis and omg I cried everyday. Sitting on my birth ball and certain postures + positions helped! I had to sit in a chair to do the dishes. I also love belly bands and some chiros can measure you for a custom one! I hope you feel better soon or find some things that work.

@@daniann19_91 I’m so sorry! I also had it with my second. Everything I suggested can help, but doesn’t necessarily always take it away- just makes it manageable. If payment plans with a chiro still aren’t affordable you can ask your provider about a referral to see if it will cover. I couldn’t afford the chiro at the time because I was already doing a payment plan with a home birth midwife that we could barely afford.😂 She suggested a lot of magnesium supplements + spray for pelvis.
It is really so uncomfortable though. You’re not alone!
Kendall, you should ask your OB or the ultrasound tech if you have an anterior placenta. It basically means your placenta is in the front of your stomach so it softens the kicks. I had it with both kids so I didn’t feel kicks very strong and couldn’t feel kicks at all until like 20 weeks. Nobody told me I had an anterior placenta until I asked why I could barely feel kicks and then they explained it. It would make sense why you can barely feel baby even though she’s so big already
I’m a mom of four, I felt the third and forth literally around the 13th week. They ended up being WAY more hyper in real life than the other two too. Haha. Such an exciting time. Congratulations
