  • This Xtherm mattress is way long, so I'm cutting it shorter to save on space and weight. Join me to watch the carnage!
Here's a link to the seam sealer. It's got an applicator pad, not roll on:

I was upset when my old Camprest baffles came apart resulting in large bubbles. So I decided to salvage it and created an inflatable seat using your method. Brilliant! It's actually holding up!

What a great idea!! That's some great ingenuity so your old Camprest can continue to come along on trips. ❤ The pad from this video is still going strong with no evidence of weak spots or failures in the seam. Thank you for stopping by to check out my little channel and taking the time to leave a comment.

I made a pad for my 25 pound dog out of my old pad that was ripped. Now he can be warm without sleeping with me lol. Thank you

What a great way to get more use out of a torn pad!! After some use, could you please reply back and let us know how the pad holds up to your dog's paws and nails? Others may find that information helpful. Thank you for sharing how you used this technique. Well done! 👏

@@jetgirlhikes9155 I keep his nails trimmed. But I stuffed the pad into a body pillow pillow case. Works great. We like fall camping and fall hike in camp sites a few miles. Gets down to 15-20 degrees some times. I carry an alpine ridge down blanket ($60-70) in my gear to go over my 20 degree bag and it's big enough to cover him down by feet too just in case. He loves being under the covers so it works out great. Packs really small in my bag.

Girl, cause I didn't need the entire top and bottom of the mattress covered in sealer! 😂😂😂
That last night at the shelter, Jessica and I were giggling about you sneaking over in the middle of the night and trying to seam seal us into our sleeping bags while we slept. Too funny!
I was nervous making the first cut, but now it's done and I feel good about it.

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm Leaks out the WingLock Valve /// I got a new one and does the same! slow leak.. Test your Valve by using a bowl or pool or anything that you can get the Valve underwater, test closed and open and see if your mat does leak before you go on the trail.. I even pop the top off and i was surprised it does not seat down to the rubber gasket! This would be easy fix for them, they just need the inside of the cap to have the round plastic under the cap to set more into the Tube around the rubber seal.. wwjd

Sorry im so late getting back to you. Hopefully you haven't cut it yet. I had several baffles delaminate on my first neo-air and they sent me a brand new one based on photos I sent them. These are lifetime warranty until you cut them.

Yay on a new smaller, lighter mattress! I was so nervous when I did my Tensor, but it came out great. Where did you find the roll on seam sealant? Have never seen that (and just checked Amazon).

It was definitely a little nerve wracking. Here's a link to the seam sealer. Mine's pretty old, looks like they're using an applicator pad now. I bet that works a whole lot better than the roller.

Good job on the video! I’m going to attempt this on my xlite neo air. I want a 25” wide torso+ pad. I don’t understand why they don’t make one for back sleepers with broad shoulders. Please provide an longevity update as you use it. I know these pads are leak prone anyway when used a lot.
