I'm taking my 7 year old son to both bands in April at toads places in New Haven. He might not like punk yet, but i want him to see what his dad grew up listening to.
Circle Jerks were my first concert ever - saw Them 1987 in the south of germany. The guys of descendents and Keth are a few years older than me, but hell! saw Them live on stage the last years in Berlin. Fantastic!
Cool,I didn't know they were that popular in Germany.I knew Black Flag,The Gun Club,Ramones, and of course Nina Hagen were.I basically grew up an early second generation L.A. punk,so all these guys were older than me as well.
What laziness!! Dude should have chosen the more "hardcore" sounding songs of the early Descendents material. Circle Jerks didn't put any care or time into their side of the split - what a joke.
@@a.d.6512 idk man, I mean it is disappointing, I was excited to hear it and then boom autotune, but I think it might just be that Keith is getting old, 68 now, I saw him 1-2 years ago can’t remember now, but he had to sit down during the show cause it was hot or whatever, when he was younger I’m sure it would’ve been easier, plus he’s got emphysema, so, to still be touring and making new music at all is awesome, and even though the circle jerks are old I love them and they are the best show iv ever been to
So this is gonna sound weird but I don't recall, we bought a ton of merch for both bands. They weren't outrageous, maybe $12-$15, normal price for a 7" in my opinion. I opened one and the other is sealed. The open one is red vinyl, so I assume that the other one is as well if they are all just in one big batch together. I did listen to an interview with Keith from the night they were in Austin and they did mention signed 7"s but neither of mine are signed, which is fine. And no inner sleeve or liner notes. But I did get a pic with Zander and shook his hand too hard, so I feel bad about that haha.
Pure Punk Rock Fun! Classic Songs Done By the Best! To those who are critiquing and complaining, and making it a contest, I highly doubt that's why these 2 Legendary bands recorded each others classic tunes. Enjoy
Adolescents rule so hard!!! I saw them years ago @ CBGBs and they blew me away. They sound even better in Brooklyn in 2024 somehow - KILLER LIVE BAND!!!
...fun fact, they would only let you into the concert if you showed proof of vaccination in 2020-2023 ... meanwhile the data clearly showed the v..ine didn't stop or prevent the spread. That's not punk.... that's bootlicking.
According to the article I read, Bill didn't like this idea due to some of the controversial lix (my guess is it's due to the final words 'your pants are too tight, you fuckin h*mos...you suck Mr. butt fuck... go away you fuckin *ay... "
I like how the descendents made a nod to the guy who fucked up “Beverly hills” during The Decline of Western Civilization. It’s the first few utterances by milo: dadadadat dadadat. At least that’s the impression I received. Once again, sweet post
Thanks for the upload! Any chance you’ve got a link for some online storage site to download the EP in good quality ? It would be a massive help. Thanks!
My copy just arrived. Strangley enough i think Billy improved the drums on Circle Jerks songs and Thee Joey C made the drums better on the Descendents songs.
That's exactly why it's a fun project. Singing other bands songs. With your bands perspective is awesome. It's not ment to be better or destroy the original song. It's a respect thing maybe you don't get it.
Wow, as an OG, I was just checking in to see if this was a worthy offering. And 10 seconds in, that’s a “damn straight”! I definitely wouldn’t fall for the scene today considering it’s so widely accepted and commercialized, but I loved the ultra-counter-culture scene of the early 80’s. The hippies were utterly lame by comparison……
...not me, I can't support CJ anymore, after Keith turned into a far left, pro govt, goofball. They spent their entire career pushing anti-establishment counter culture... and now they're pro-authoritarian, mainstream, goofballs. When I see a CJ fan, I see a poser. California punk bands are just entertainers, nothing more. They're not true to anything except a paycheck.
Though i agree, Times change, punk evolves. We were different people then. We were young when we sang along to these lyrics. If we haven't found a better way to convey our messages, and how to communicate with one another, then it was all for nothing. Ultimately they chose to cut songs and change lyrics. Nobody forced their hand. But yes. Fuck censorship.
Circle Jerks let me down in 2020.... there's no going back. Keith is a govt bootlicker. .... Circle Jerks, Offspring, NOFX, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, Green Day...is permanently out of my music feed.
Tell us you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about without actually telling us. Also, might as well admit you never paid any attention to what any of them were singingabout in the first place because none of their views have changed. Actually, one of the bands views have changed and that would be the Jello-Less Dead Kennedys which is why your comment is so ridiculous all around because their views are more I tune with yours now and completely opposite of the rest of the bands. Thank you though for not wasting space at any of their shows, solid of you.
Descendents Side A
0:00 Red Tape
0:58 I Just Want Some Skank
2:08 Beverly Hills
Circle Jerks Side B
3:10 Kabuki Girl
4:30 Hope

Nice!!! If I had kids, I'd do the same! 🧑🦱👶🤘
Sweet! I’m taking my son to Nashville next week. He’s older, but can’t wait to share this experience with him!
I’m going to see them April 11th!
Opa!!! Eu levei meu filho para ver o Exploited, na cidade de Limeira!!! Ele amou!!!!
Yes Keeping the faith!
Bill is so goddamn good on Red Tape
And on "Skank" too. He nailed Lucky's drum fills .
Bill is so goddamn good. Fixed that for you.
Absolutely. Thought the same thing too. Tore it up.
On the flip side, Morris just CAN'T sing Milo's stuff.
@@dr.juerdotitsgo5119 he tries to make it "circle jerks" style. Just ain't the same!!!
@2:11 lol they did the adlib of the guy singing from the decline doc
Yeppers! Nice touch indeed!!
Noticed that too. Automatically thought about that guy
Woooaahhh
Wonder where that guy is today, lol.
Easter egg 😅
Yep that was awesome 😅

that autotune on hope is horrendous hahaha the descendents side is so damn good though!
Right? I scrolled through the comments to see if anyone else had called out that autotune
What laziness!! Dude should have chosen the more "hardcore" sounding songs of the early Descendents material. Circle Jerks didn't put any care or time into their side of the split - what a joke.
I have nothing against auto tune personally, it can actually sound really sick when used right, but holy fuck it sounds like straighup ass here
for real, I think Keith needed it though, from what I've seen recently he can barely belt vocals in general anymore

Super! See them in Lima Perú today more later.
The vocals on hope were... unusual.
On kabuki as well
Just caught this incredible gig on 3/19/24..... scored 2 of these!!!
How much was one, if you don’t mind my asking? Aren’t they signed by both bands as well?

I attended the show & asked the Merch lady when I bought a shirt - they’re $15 unsigned, $60 signed
I was right there at the merch table, this thing was right there in front of me, and I thought nah. Fuck! What an amazing split.

Amazing weren't they? Saw them all on Easter.Milo was wearing pink bunny ears.Of course they didn't stay on for long.
@@kevincarlson668 that's awesome! Yeah it was a killer show
@@metalpunk7945 Of course! happy for you. And, 😁Keith Morris is the one white guy who can pull off ass-length dreadlocks.
Ready to see them in concert😁
Saw both with Adolescents on Easter sunday. They were all in top form, none lost their edge. You definitely have something to look forward to.

@@spayspayno but they had the record for sale at the show
my son and i were at that show. man it was great!
me and my friend went to that show they were absolutely phenomenal
Show de ontem foi épico ❤
They were all awesome at HOB here in Dallas Texas
Thanks for sharing! 🙌🏻🇧🇷
I hope there's a future repress that includes CJ's cover of "I'm Not A Loser". That'd be legit and both bands would have 3 trax each.
According to the article I read, Bill didn't like this idea due to some of the controversial lix (my guess is it's due to the final words 'your pants are too tight, you fuckin h*mos...you suck Mr. butt fuck... go away you fuckin *ay... "
Thank you I probably would have never heard of it and I grew up with these bands.
I got to see this tour last year i finally got to my fav band Decendents.
This version of Kabuki girl is ART 👌🤟
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Bout to go see them together for the 3rd time together in St Pete. Always a blast. 🤘🏻
Seeing them next week in Nashville! Cannot wait for the show and to score one of these! Love both bands, check that, legendary bands!
Sounds like both bands are having a good time on these - thanks for posting!
Could you send me the lossless files for this? This is great quality. I’m bummed it isn’t on Spotify.
Omg cannot wait til Sunday to see yas.
Thanks for the upload.
If the Circle Jerks would have covered M16 Tonyage and I want to be a bear would have made this too perfect
Thank you so much!

This is so great. It’s like bizarro punk world.
Bad fucking ass!!!

Wow! The guitars in the descendants songs are almost non existent
Is there any chance to get mp3s ? Thanks
Awesome
❤❤❤
I can actually understand the words to Kabuki girl. Lol
🤘🤘🤘
Why does keith Morris act like he doesn't know how to sing hope.
He can't even sing his own songs. Worst punk singer ever.
Both sides are great.
But, even though it's not a competition, Descendents kill on this. 🏆
Also, CJ's guitar is so low in the mix.
My copy just arrived. Strangley enough i think Billy improved the drums on Circle Jerks songs and Thee Joey C made the drums better on the Descendents songs.
Life is funny
