Though i agree, Times change, punk evolves. We were different people then. We were young when we sang along to these lyrics. If we haven't found a better way to convey our messages, and how to communicate with one another, then it was all for nothing. Ultimately they chose to cut songs and change lyrics. Nobody forced their hand. But yes. Fuck censorship.
My copy just arrived. Strangley enough i think Billy improved the drums on Circle Jerks songs and Thee Joey C made the drums better on the Descendents songs.

Circle Jerks were my first concert ever - saw Them 1987 in the south of germany. The guys of descendents and Keth are a few years older than me, but hell! saw Them live on stage the last years in Berlin. Fantastic!
Cool,I didn't know they were that popular in Germany.I knew Black Flag,The Gun Club,Ramones,and of course Nina Hagen were.I basically grew up an early second generation L.A. punk,so all these guys were older than me as well.

Circle Jerks let me down in 2020.... there's no going back. Keith is a govt bootlicker. .... Circle Jerks, Offspring, NOFX, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, Green Day...is permanently out of my music feed.

Tell us you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about without actually telling us. Also, might as well admit you never paid any attention to what any of them were singingabout in the first place because none of their views have changed. Actually, one of the bands views have changed and that would be the Jello-Less Dead Kennedys which is why your comment is so ridiculous all around because their views are more I tune with yours now and completely opposite of the rest of the bands. Wow, as an OG, I was just checking in to see if this was a worthy offering. And 10 seconds in, that’s a “damn straight”! I definitely wouldn’t fall for the scene today considering it’s so widely accepted and commercialized, but I loved the ultra-counter-culture scene of the early 80’s. The hippies were utterly lame by comparison……
...not me, I can't support CJ anymore, after Keith turned into a far left, pro govt, goofball. They spent their entire career pushing anti-establishment counter culture... and now they're pro-authoritarian, mainstream, goofballs. When I see a CJ fan, I see a poser. California punk bands are just entertainers, nothing more. They're not true to anything except a paycheck.

...fun fact, they would only let you into the concert if you showed proof of vaccination in 2020-2023 ... meanwhile the data clearly showed the v..ine didn't stop or prevent the spread. That's not punk.... that's bootlicking.
