- Our First One Million Viewed Video with Monster Kody first premiered almost three years ago on Kev Mac Videos. This is one of the best series we've had on this platform to date, and Kody's storytelling and memory with details is impeccable. In this video he talks about growing up as a youth in what is now known as the Rollin' 60s turf, and being bullied the day before joining the gang. He then talks about later running across Big Rebo from Parc Village Compton Crips during a dispute with Lil Fee in LA County Jail Crips Module 4800 in 1984.
Sanyika Shakur (born Kody Dejohn Scott; November 13, 1963 - June 6, 2021), also known by his former street moniker Monster or Monster Kody, was an American author and former gang member. He was a member of the Los Angeles-based Eight Tray Gangster Crips.

Before these Kody episodes dropped , I was watching 2-3 Kev Mac videos a day then I got notification about Monster Kody, mmaaaannnn I was hooked.
Man I watched everything kev mac gave I even went to get his all hood publications
I bet Monster’s book sales went up too. This video gonna hit a mil. Kev start refreshing all your old videos like this with a new caption so the new maniacs add views to that.
I never glorify gangbangers, because I'm not from that world, but I appreciated Sanyika Shakurs brilliance, intellect, and ability to vividly create a picture simply using words. This definitely came across in the interview. I've noticed that with a lot of Kev Mac interviews, many of these guy are sharp. Believe it or not, and I've said this on other clips, but what KM has done, is literally document history, and this will outlive all of us.
With all the mystic, lore and rumor surrounding Monsta Kody it was only right that Kev Mac was the person to get his last interview.

Big kev's monster interview is just a classic historical document, just like monster kodies book is.
I wish monster would've been able to write another book and share his thoughts on what's going on in the world, and an update on his thoughts on religion and politics, because his views changed from 1993. His view on islam for example...and many other things

I was ditching Foshay and was at the original Expo Library off of 37th and Vermont. It was around Halloween so I was looking for monster books and found this book. It was called Monster so I picked it up and took it. I got home and was like damnnnn this book was one of the rawest books I’ve ever read. I was in 6th grade my ex kept the book. But I eventually bought a hard copy first edition and it’s sitting in my bookshelf now. RIP!!

I read this guys book when I was like 15 or 16. One of the most memorable books I've read and I have read a lot of books. He was a "Ghetto Star" who excelled in gang banging which doesn't really exist anymore like it used to. The most amazing thing was how he wrote a New York Times best selling book from prison. Incredible. But he was naturally intelligent.
