    Nice. I tried to buy a set of macebells . but shipping costs are very high. So i came up with a solution. I bougth a 15pound kettlebell iron cast and welded a 1.5 metal pipe tube with a cap at the end. Poors man mace. But gets the job done.

    By the way I don't think I will be using mace bell for anything else other than hitting tire

    Hey,
    Asked Lifemaxx for cost to ship 4kg Holland to UK. Macebell is 37 € and shipping 45 €. About 82 € or about £70 ...
    Wolverson Fitness in UK - 4kg Macebell £50 shipping £5 so Total about £55.
    Whilst the difference is £15 - I'm uncertain as to which Macebell is the better ??
    I don't mind paying the postage but sometimes parcels get wrecked by carriers and sending stuff back is a right pain, especially to Holland.
    As they say, 'pay once, cry once'
    Have you tried the Wolverson Macebell products ?
    Thanks 😊

    I live in Delhi, INDIA. Can you suggest any seller to buy quality mace from. The one which I got from Amazon is 5 kg, has a narrow handle and is not rounded. I plan to buy a mace with atleast 12 kg weight next, since no options are available online, planning to buy a custom made sledge hammer with a thick wooden handle. Love to hear your opinion.

    • @TheFlowingDutchman
      @TheFlowingDutchman  4 года назад +5

      Hey Ankit, yesterday I spoke to an indian student of mine and he bought a Garage Fitness Mace of 10lbs/4,5. This should be pretty similar to the onnit mace. If you want a heavier one you'll probably have to make one yourself. The advantage of india is that street welding work is very cheap. So if you find a hollow pipe and a weighted end, you'll be able to make a heavy mace.

    Thanks for the video but you didn't actually review the mace itself very well. You just stated that the coating is nice and it feels well balanced. That's about it.
    You didn't explain what diameter is best and why. Nor did you explain why the knurling is important and whether you want smoother or more harsh knurling.
    What about the shape of the end, whether we would want flat bottomed or completely round?

    • @TheFlowingDutchman
      @TheFlowingDutchman  4 года назад +9

      Hey! Thanks for your feedback, you're right. I will elaborate here a little bit more.
      The diameter of 4 cm is perfect in my opinion. I didn't explain why the knurling is important because most steel maces have knurling. Knurling will help with the grip and makes switching hands smooth. I prefer the Onnit knurling as it lasts very long, and isn't too 'sticky'. Which means it helps smoothen the switches. This is better than other maces I've tried so far.
      I like the fact that it looks more round at the globe than other maces. A big disadvantage of the onnit mace is, however, that it doesn't rest on the ground very well. Other maces have a slightly more flat globe which makes them stand better on the ground.
      Finally I do not prefer the fact that it doesn't have a pommel. Which means your hands slide off easier as the end. This isn't too much of a concern with the lighter maces, but plays a more significant role when going up in weight. Hope that clarifies it ;)

    • @jrfty1
      @jrfty1 4 года назад

      @@TheFlowingDutchman thank you very much! I'm researching maces as I want to start using them for the first time. I've found a UK supplier for Onnit and the prices are very cheap! I'm comparing these maces to a company (very well known in the crossfit community) called Wolverson Fitness. Their maces also look absolutely excellent- flat bottom head and a pummel on the opposite end. The only issue with the wolverson mace is that the 4kg and 5kg are 32mm. Only 6kg and up are 40mm.
