A 8lb sledge hammer with hickory handle and wrap the end with some hockey gip tape for a pommel. Not elegant but a inexpensive start. Love your travel videos.
Are there any Macebells with a gripthickness of 5cm or more? Dont understand me wrong i am not as big as Andrew The Giant. The thing is, I have a macebell with a handle diameter of just 3cm or even less, I just didn't think anything of it at the time i buy it. I thought maybe it was just so uncomfortable because it was unfamiliar and you would somehow adapt to it. But it's just annoying, my hands are desperately trying not to let go of this handle or throw the whole thing across the room, it doesn't feel particularly good for my hands. I have these bare iron bars in my work that are approximately 5cm thick and whenever I have to use it I just think how great it would be to have something like that as a Macebell.
Just bought a 8lbs Fiskar sledgehammer to swing. It has a forged head on it with a wedge side and a hammer side. Not traditional but looks pretty cool.
@@TheFlowingDutchman thanks! it's hard to buy one in my country and it's quite expensive so i'm thinking of buying a shot put ball and weld it on an iron pipe. So I guess will be getting a 2 or 3 kg "tip" to make my first 4kg mace
I am considering buying a 10lb macebell to get started. Looking at something with a 33mm wide handle. I have some weight plates for dumbbells with a 50mm hole. Is it possible to fit the plates and keep them in place with a barbell lock instead of having to acquire a mace collection?
I still have one question, if I may 😉 - Lifemaxx or Power Guidance (4cm but no pommel) for men? And when is that cool mace of you coming out? I might wait. 😁
@@TheFlowingDutchman thanks, I will. P.S. I noticed the Workshop link doesn't work on your website. (Interested in an offline session). Keep up the good work, inspiring and fascinating!
@@rogierd7408 btw, I didn’t fully read your comment. But of course, the DFA mace would be way better haha. I use the wooden handle ones a lot. The first ones are being produced right now, so if your interested: info@dutchflowacademy.com 👍🏼
Shipping is extremely expensive, and adjustable maces are a bit different from regular ones. I’ve got videos up for adjustable maces from Europe if you’d be interested. I share about pros and cons there too.
Sometimes you trolls the Indian culture to say about Indian traditional power drink and even you are trainee under Indian teachers. So first of all you should respect our culture and never trolls our food habits and culture. Hope you will think on it.
When did he do that? I have seen most of his videos. He has always been respectful about Indian culture and customs. What video you are talking about? He is the guy only guy who has chanted Jai Shri Ram 🙏 in Muslim akhara. I dunno what to referring or talking about that he was being disrespectful about.
Please! do not push away people who celebrate Indian culture by micro analysising/scrutinizing them..accept and respect them ..they are global ambassadors of our culture. Atithi Devo Bhavah🙏

Great idea! I was just about to ask him about this in the comments. I haven't tried any of this yet, but I'm going to follow your lead.
Went for the 10lb (5Kg option), also 5 inches shorter in length than a mace...
Brilliant idea.
It's only about a $5 difference now that I'm looking. Unless maybe your looking at harbor freight or another discount store.

@theflowingdutchman Are you still looking to release a dutchflow academy mace?
I will waiting of this video. 👍
Great job keep it up
Any recommendations for manufacturers for purchasing online?
I dobt know of any retail stores here in Northern California that sells them.
Should I start with mace or heavy club? Just turning 60 and purchased an adjustable kettlebell as well.
Both will do, eventually you will have both anyway ;)
Sir I have never did this training of mace ,can I do it directly or should I do any other exercise before doing mace training??
.....................I wanna know too
when you're talking about the weight for mace is it only for the tip or including the stick?
Including! And the word ‘tip’ is definitely an interesting way of putting it lol.

Just got 10kg from Amazon for £50. I am very excited.
Oh yes! Enjoy the first swings.
When referring to the weight, is that the weight of the head or of the entire mace? Im thinking of making my own and cant find an answer to that.
What do you think about adjustable mace like Adex mace?
Can you tell us about adjustable maces? Imcluding omnibell and cadi club (as pee savagearmy)?
I made a video about this recently, search for adjustable mace on my channel :). Haven't tried the cadi club yet.

Haha yes, there will always be a pay off. I would go for the power guidance, I love that mace :)

Hi what do you think about adjustable mace?
I’ve got videos on them :)
What’s a good brand of mace to start with in the States? All the ones I see have that middle knurl 😣
Hey Jonathon, i've always enjoyed the Onnit one. Yes, like I said in the video most of them will. It will not inhibit your swinging though ;).
where can i get one of those t shirts
more of this please
To train with mace beard is mandatory
Would you recommend this over Indian clubs?
Very different devices. The mace and heavy clubs are for strength for sure
I am in Luxembourg can you give me link to buy ? Please
Where I can buy these maces and gadas?
About your commits on steel vs wood; my sifu taught never to touch mental with your bare hands. Said that it steals your chi.
Interesting
I am a cyborg with metal hands so by that logic should I be using a wooden mace to build up more "chi"?
Shoalin monks must have such a dilemma with their swords.
my first mace was 12.5kg
I've been there
Wot no Adex ?

Thank you!
Nice video

Harbert, I Wish you can send those maces designed by you to India.
That would be technically possible, but very expensive in shipping costs. Glad you like it though!
