    Awesome, you are filling a very real gap in DCS RUclips: practical what actually works and how to do it. Subscribed!

    Great vid. I never had any luck with HARMs on these bad boys until now. Awesome info. Can't believe I didn't think to use the HARM in conjunction with a TGP to create a steerpoint. It's the little things!!

    Very interesting, informative, clear, fast and even fun to watch. Love it. YT and DCS needs more of this.

    I believe that once you create the mark point, you can press M-Sel to make it the current steer point, instead of exiting the DED mark point page and indexing to it using the rocker switch.

    I'm a drone flight instructor in the army, I always like using black hot during the day and white hot at night. I don't know why, but they seem to have the best images that way. Also, nice tutorial, I didn't know about selecting the radar type on the wpn page!

      Lane, are you an IO green suiter or a contractor? Shadow or GE? I was an SO at the school house until yesterday. 😆 Leaving for Huntsville next week.

    Nice videos, short and to the point. Your videos teach more in 5 minutes than I get from the other DCS content creators. Keep the videos coming.

    The SA-10 took that long to engage you because ED accurately simulates the Buryat "technically not a conscript but might as well be" radar operator occasionally taking a peek at the radar screen inbetween considering if he should pawn off the vehicle's gas to the locals or have the missile payload accidentally get dumped in the water during a loading accident.

    Undocumented, but you can press MSEL to make the current Markpoint the active Steerpoint. Saves a few steps by not having to switch to Nav and manually entering the SP. Great work on the channel!

      Is it really undocumented? M-SEL sounds like a great abbreviation for Markpoint Select.

    • @Crunch104
      @Crunch104 Год назад

      @@diacoal2433 It could be in the latest manual rev. Not sure. ED needs to update the manuals as the Early Access modules develop. The F-16 manual needs a lot of updating.

    In case the Flap Lid hadn't activated it's radar the HARM shouldn't have found its way, right? I would just have flown to the STPT and perhaps doing some splash damage.

  • @BrodyHiggerson

    Thanks for this video! One question; What's the advantage of involving the TGP if you're using the HTS pod? Once the "10" shows up on HTS, and you TMS Up on it, you could still fly in the same way and launch a HARM without even opening the WPN page for it or even the TGP itself, no? Is the advantage just that you have a mark point on the HMCS? I can understand the use if you're not using HARMs, e.g. trying to drop bombs on radars found by the HTS.

    • @FLYGaffer
      @FLYGaffer  Год назад +2

      Getting the precise location of the site, creating a STPT at that site, and then directing the HARM to fly to that location is the best way to send a HARM from close range.
      The HTS pod has quite a bit of error in its position solution. It’s acceptable if you are shooting the HARM from a distance and the missile has a Birds Eye view of the target from 20 miles out. However to shoot from close range, you want the HARM to know EXACTLY where to go!

      This way if the radar goes cold, the Harm still has a guidance point to fly to, instead of being trashed

    You should have some bait the sa10 from far to get it to leave its radar on.
    Although at that range id just use a cbu 105 lol

    Good run in. Now: do it with a BUK and/or TOR guarding the site. It gets quite interesting.

    great videos man, i'm in the process of trying to learn the 16. This is more of a general DCS question, but are there any good resources for learning about the sams/aaa systems? and what tactics/weaponry to use against them?

    Help! How did you make STPT 26? Just by deselecting "CS" and selecting "10" manually on the right screen? Where does the STPT 26 come from? Thx
    EDIT: I got it: you made STPT 26 with the TGP just before. Sorry to bother 🙂
