How do you know the fox 2 has a lock at that range? Do you have to uncaged them? Or do they just look where the radar is? Is there a setting on the fox 2 to make them act this way? Great flying mate
Hey man...thanks. I just lock on the target and the Fox2 sensor goes straight to it. When it sounds the tone, I fire. I don't do much. It's really quite simple. What can confusing is that, in my experience, the Fox2 emits the tone around 15 miles. Then it stops, and starts sounding again below 5 miles (this may vary). So this can confuse the viewer. The tone does not remain constant from the moment it starts. It can vary for several reasons, especially if the opponent starts to maneuver defensively. 🍻🙂
nice performence !! the F16 should get a fox1 beacause in real life it has .. like the Egyption air force F16's me my self as (Landstorm) have done it ( become an ACE ) once in a J-11 and the second time scored the 5 kills and made it back home and when i lower my gear my DCS crashed 😬 the data link bandit's lock in the F16 is great i use it all the time and also the HMD wich is not there in DCS for the Flanker's but the flanker has that great Fox1 27R wich i think is better than the AIM7

I don't even know how this happens to you, 3 Hornet's just flying straight and level towards you, but ignoring you? As soon as I'm up in my Viper both Hornet's and Eagle's are pushing me with Fox 1s, I end up starting from the defensive. If I waited to get a tone with a Fox 2 I'd already be dead, I almost always have to run/notch and put them into the advantage. Sometimes I can turn it around but most of the time I have to fly like a rat to have a chance.
What's up man. Yes, this surprised me too lol. I don't know if the guys were noobs, or if they were focused on attacking the base. The first F-18 fires a HARM if I'm not wrong. It was a base that was unprotected. Their focus was increasing in that direction. They must have been excited and forgot to look at the SA page lol. Another thing that could be is that I used the scanning range as small as possible, so that others dont receive my radar signal other than the target I am lockon. Furthermore, they were not at the same altitude. When I'm locking the first Hornet, the one that comes after doesn't receive my radar signal, because the first one was at angels 15 and the second at angels 6. All this context influences to get those first 4 kills. After I got them, I ran after the 5th one kkkkkk. Thanks man. Appreciated the doubt 👏🍻😎
