I agree 100% To overexplain: As a more emotional person It's very very difficult and requires alot of tough conversations and sometimes professional help but what emotional people need to realize is that very few people will cater to those emotions for very long and it sucks to deal with and hear but its reality. People in max's case need to step back emotionally from these relationships and get some help to better regulate themselves and evolve to fit tougher environments cause that's what the world is, tough. You are your own responsibility at the end of the day.

Being empathetic doesn't solve the issue at hand, you either have to show that the person has the correct understanding of the situation (reinforcing her position and feelings) or challenge them if their understanding is incorrect. In Lav's case, she has the wrong understanding so Destiny tries to correct it. Being empathetic only means to be able to put yourself in someone else shoes as if you were living it yourself, that doesn't mean that you have to let their feelings overwhelm you the same way their overwhelmed them. Steven is in problem solving mode like most men who critically think are, but Lav would like Steven to be in braindead mode (just agree with everything I say without questioning any of it) which only leads to more of this stupid Lav shit.
Challenging them if their understanding is incorrect wouldn't be empathetic. agreeing with them, taking their position because that's how they feel, would be empathetic, and then not saying anything about it because you know it will cause, upset, confrontation, would be empathetic, saying something confrontational, or disagreeing, would not be empathetic.

My life became so much better when I stopped acting on impulse in my intense emotions and over time I got super good at noticing it in the moment. Just stop what you're doing and think when you get over emotional. Take a step back, a break and rethink it. Over time you literally won't have to do that anymore you'll start doing it in real time.

In other words: Just because I love my friend doesn't mean I'm going to wreck my life or compromise my principles for them. At it's most brutal: If whether "I" eat or "you" eat was the only decision that had to be made, "I" would eat. If you're my "friend" then I won't eat in front of you, but you don't get my portion. As a more emotional person
It's very very difficult and requires alot of tough conversations and sometimes professional help but what emotional people need to realize is that very few people will cater to those emotions for very long and it sucks to deal with and hear but its reality. People in max's case need to step back emotionally from these relationships and get some help to better regulate themselves and evolve to fit tougher environments cause that's what the world is, tough. You are your own responsibility at the end of the day.

Being empathetic doesn't solve the issue at hand, you either have to show that the person has the correct understanding of the situation (reinforcing her position and feelings) or challenge them if their understanding is incorrect.
In Lav's case, she has the wrong understanding so Destiny tries to correct it. Being empathetic only means to be able to put yourself in someone else shoes as if you were living it yourself, that doesn't mean that you have to let their feelings overwhelm you the same way their overwhelmed them.
Steven is in problem solving mode like most men who critically think are, but Lav would like Steven to be in braindead mode (just agree with everything I say without questioning any of it) which only leads to more of this stupid Lav shit.
Challenging them if their understanding is incorrect wouldn't be empathetic.

I'm no doctor, but I think Lav might be in love with an idealized version of Max that lives in her head because of their first interaction, wherein he threw a slew of highly abusive statements at her, and generally just shouted her down every time she spoke. It seems like Lav is the type of person who gets a rise out of that, and her first personal impression of Max has triggered a love bombing cycle, he can literally do no wrong in her eyes, no one can convince her otherwise, at least until her idealized image of Max is inevitably shattered, and she completely flips on him.

My life became so much better when I stopped acting on impulse in my intense emotions and over time I got super good at noticing it in the moment. Just stop what you're doing and think when you get over emotional. Take a step back, a break and rethink it. Over time you literally won't have to do that anymore you'll start doing it in real time.

Consider "endearment" though, what it means. You love chocolate cake, but you're on a diet. Despite the fact that you love it, you avoid it. That doesn't mean you no longer love chocolate cake. You avoid the cake to meet a goal/standard but no "feelings" are lost for the cake. If You eat the cake, because you love it, you wouldn't be doing the "right" thing. In other words: Just because I love my friend doesn't mean I'm going to wreck my life or compromise my principles for them. At it's most brutal: If whether "I" eat or "you" eat was the only decision that had to be made, "I" would eat. If you're my "friend" then I won't eat in front of you, but you don't get my portion. Because if you're already thinking about that from the get go then you're already sabotaging yourself because not only are you reinforcing that idea in your mind, you're also giving yourself a crutch to fall on if you fail of "oh it's because it's hard to do in real time" rather than "oh i didnt try hard enough, i need to try harder next time." Because regardless of which of those statements more accurately depicts reality, the latter one is what will help you improve.

Perhaps Dan recognizes the similarities between lav and a certain someone else, and the negative effects of their presence. He could be trying to derail and start any other arc than lav before the situation explodes as bad or worse than the last one
What I took away from this convo was that Dan has a really sweet streaming room with a really sweet Muriel.
I'm in a steady, long term, awesome relationship and still, listening to Lav talk almost makes me want to hate my GF because she's also a woman. She might be the most weasely, irresponsible person I've ever heard speak. She is singlehandedly ruining the reputation of the females of our species.
Luckily she has a lot less exposure than it seems like to us regular viewers. The people whose perception would be most fucked by interacting with Lav don't watch Destiny in the first place.

I counted at least 8 Lav cycles during the course of this video. Where she says insane shit, gets challenged on it, and then "clarifies" it to the point of walking back her statement entirely.
