I think it's a great unit, and pairing it up with a smart plug will allow for remote starting the drying process a few hours before starting the print.
The price seems super reasonable, considering it fixes most of the problems with the SunLu dryer. You could add an external outlet timer to give it a timed drying option.
I'm glad they made this one. A lot of comments in the Sunlu dryer videos center around the lack of a fan. Interestingly, despite not having a fan, the Sunlu ones worked fine for me. But other people said they had condensation forming inside the dryer. So this one is for the fans of the fan. 😄
Thanks, very timely. It’s getting humid here in the Orlando area. I know the problem I’m having is moisture related. Figuring out my options. This solves 2 issues. 👍👍
Thanks for sharing as always. I always worry about my PVA absorbing moisture, but didn't even know it was an issue with PLA. I will certainly do a better job of protecting my PLA after watching this.
I purchased one recently. It’s so quiet I need to check to see if it’s on or not. Once dried, I use it while printing to keep my filament dry then I vacuum bag for storage. No more bubbles in my PETG.
Eibos make a really decent dryer. Why they didn't include a timer??... Got the Cyclopes model about a years ago which will kill the power using a timer, just incase you do forget. As for storage, I use the basic vacuum storage bags, a whole lot cheaper and you can store more than one reel in them also!
Conveniently, this was on a lightning sale on Amazon, dropping the price substantially, so I bit the bullet and got one. So far, the only thing I didn't like was that the hygrometer only displayed humidity. I also conveniently have a bunch of hygrometers that display the temperature and humidity that are the same size, so I swapped them out.
Protip: get a smart wall adapter. That way you can set your own timer on your phone. If you want to get fancy, you can also get one for your printer allowing you to automatically stop the dryer as soon as your print is done.
I bought the first EIBOS Vacuum system and out of the 20 bags, 19 leaked. When I chased EIBOS they wanted me to pay for shipping for replacement bags which cost more than the actual bags were worth.
Another wonderful video! Currently, it's super dry cause of winter but I will have to check these when humidity gets more in the summer if I start having problems. Side note, have you seen/tried out the 3D chameleon automatic color changer system? Seems like a cheap way to make Enders and the like into multiple filament printers, I would love to see your thoughts on it!
Hey Bryan, thanks a lot for an awesome video! I've got a nooby question. I got the part where once the filament is dry and stored in the sealed bag is totally cool, but what happens when I reuse it? I live in area where moisture is around 50% all the time, do you maybe know how long does it take for a filament to suck moisture? Should I store it inside the dryer once I get it out of the bag and keep it drying while I print? My concerns are coming from you talking about re-drying makes filament more brittle. What is the best practice for drying-printing-storing? Keep it up bud!
Hi Bryan, I have to ask sorry but the skull in the background with the eyepiece, is that a printable project? Thank you for all the great video's you make.
That was a resin cast thing that I got for Christmas several years ago. I don't think they make it any longer. I just did a search for it and found a website in Germany that has it in stock. www.figuren-shop.de/en/steampunk-skull-with-plasma-eye
Have you had experience w your pull string on the door breaking yet? Been gentle with mine but the door pull string snapped after a few days use. If you are out of warranty period for replacement,is there a way to repair this on your own?
Hi Peter, when you're done drying the filament, it's best to take it out of the dryer. Most spools of filament will fit in a one-gallon zipper bag, if it didn't come with a zipper bag of its own. Filament usually comes with a small desiccant pack in the bag as well, so keep that in the bag with the filament to help keep it dry.
Hello Bryan, I been watching a lot of ur vid last few days but I'm stuck between a rock n hard place and chasing u down to try comment where u will get message...I bought return to Amazon ender 3v2 and the screen was messed up n had to b replaced, I did so but with the touch screen___and I don't have but cpl option on it so can't finish _trouble shooting or anything.... Should I trade back for the one with button n go from there?
Hi Allie, I haven't used Creality's touch screen upgrade on the Ender-3 V2 yet, so I don't know if it requires a firmware update on either the screen or the printer itself in order to work correctly. It may be best to exchange the touch screen for the V2's color screen with the knob. I would expect that to work without a problem.
I later discovered there are two spots in the inside corners where desiccant packs can be placed (like the ones that come with the filament), so it could keep the filament dry for a little while. But with the air intakes and outlet vents, it wouldn't really be possible for it to be a long-term option.
@@BV3D The next evolution would be a dryer that dries the filament inside the open bag, Then after the drying cycle is complete, it vacuum seals it. I can dream, can't I?
I wish they'd make a biggier version that takes bigger spools. I commonly buy and use 3, or even 5KG spools of filament and those wouldn't fit in here.
I experienced this with one of their previous models. They have hot spots where the air enters the chamber. I also discovered the unit wouldn't get within 15C of their claimed maximum temp. the cheap hygromter they were using actually also displayed temperature, but they had blacked out (covered) the temperature - probably so that customers wouldn't see how far off it was from the setting. Also, they were using a manual relay instead of an SSR. This will fail eventually. I won't buy any of their products. I think there's a good market opportunity here, but so far all these dryers suck.
@@mghumphrey Turns out I got the US model (110v) and running it on 220v so the heat is doubled. I'm now using a transformer for this and its no longer warping the spool holder
@@BV3D yep. It dried out the nylon fine but the core part of the reel did deform to where putting the center piece on for my dry box… roller bit… was a battle
BE AWARE - These Eibos bags have a very high failure rate. The valves leak like crazy. If not on first use, then on second or third use. The company ignores complaints and requests for replacements. They just go in the trash. The USB electric pump works fine. It's the valves in the bags that fail. Buyer beware...
Thanks! I just ordered some Sunlu ones, you don't happen to know the measurement of the bags do you? as I have found vendors that sell bags much cheaper but I don't know the bag size
I think it's a great unit, and pairing it up with a smart plug will allow for remote starting the drying process a few hours before starting the print.
I've been looking for a dryer with a fan. The sunlu ones were priced well, but not with a fan. Glad to see this.
I think this one is my favorite so far, both for ease-of-use and the fact that it runs until I turn it off.
Thank you for your ongoing work to promote products and share your knowledge with the community.
The price seems super reasonable, considering it fixes most of the problems with the SunLu dryer. You could add an external outlet timer to give it a timed drying option.
The outlet timer is a great idea, and those are generally inexpensive. 👍
Drying and then bagging, the best advice as far as I'm concerned! 👍 Also glad to see this new generation of more dryers with fans!

Had this for a year, thanks to your review. All great for my purposes.
Good to know that the heat cycles degrades the filament. Bought this dryer and the build quality is nice, haven't tested it really yet.

very informative and love the visual of 1g of water.

Looks nicer than my Comgrow 2 spool drier but it doesn't seem to do it better, I do like their bag/pump design.

Ugh. That sucks. The three bags I got seem to be doing OK so far, but I'll keep an eye (boss) on them.

Great review as usual 👍..my Eibos is stuck at customs 🙄
Sorry to hear that! I hope it gets released soon.
I have to replace my Easdry Filament Dryer fan. Is the fan 12v or 24v?
(120v mains: US if that matters)

How go is it to print out of? Planning on having it second has a table spool holder also.
So may I ask, when you dont use it. Can you leave it stil in the dryer ? Or take it out of the dryer ? Sorry nooby
