@@grimmrockbro3597 The issue isn't really that she can't physically just bust some asses to help the Brakern it's that she's depicted as this kind and empathetic person but just brushes off the cruel fate of an entire race. She can at least try to save the Brakern crystals she can by hiding them or something along those lines.

@@Coco-vv8nf I think this is possibly just another plot hole in her lore, but I could imagine that someone could build a very good illegal business on smuggling refugees from Zaun to Piltover and forging papers. Like you said, it's insanely hard to make it even if you're talented, and many Zaunites are so desperate to escape that they would give you everything they have for you to get them out. IIRC, Seraphine's parents are supposed to have some sort of a musical equipment shop and the crystal was really expensive for them, so it's difficult to imagine that Piltover would just let them move like that. If they gave all their previous wealth to a refugee smuggler and had to start over, that would make sense.

My main issue really is thst she looks like a star guardian. She is supposed to be that "star that everyone knows" but who is her audience really? If she wants to unite piltover and Zaun she has to sing and appeal to people of all ages and backgrounds. But she looks like a modern poptar who just sings to teenage girls, that's hardly a good base to change the way people think, like she appereantly wants.

I think the dumbest part is how she apparently is helping Zaun. In Piltover it makes some sense, I mean they are more technologically advanced, and a popstar sounds more reasonable. But in Zaun? Just look at the Zaun champs, character designs, lore, (or just watch Warwick's cinematic) and it becomes mind boggling how anyone could think Seraphine could change that way of life or not get immediately jumped for being disrespectful. It's so clear she was a skin first and a champion second, good god
The truth about Seraphine : she's a mage so she's using her powers to mind control people and make them happy, and she even controlled the mind of her crystal, and her parents, to make them help her. Now she wants to mind control everyone in Piltover and Zaun to make everyone happy against their will. So SHE'S ACTUALLY A VILLAIN THE WHOLE TIME.

Seraphine was a surprising pick to say the least. I think the most irritating part of it was because she just doesn't seem like she fits in with the lore of Runeterra. Adding people like this to the game really just kind of opens the door for more characters that don't belong in the world of Runeterra.
At least they can go smart and introduce them as someone being able to travel through dimensions.

I love how the biggest issue with her story is that she's supposed to be bright and wholesome but she's using souls of dead people to power her floating device and her in-game phrases are sarcastic and rude, but this was barely even mentioned.

One of the things that irritates me about her is her in-game model on her base skin. It's... disgusting. Not because of the excess pink, nor the flashiness, but because of her model, her poses, everything. It all just screams "low effort" to me. She's supposed to be "piltoven" (as necrit said, she looks nothing like a 'pilty') but looks like a starguardian more than any actual place on runeterra. The fact her lore is a dumbed-down, lower-effort version of Sona's lore is also an annoying factor. Like, Sona at least has motivation, a trial in front of her, *talent*, and a reason behind things; Seraphine has none of that, she's a mary sue at this point. Both in terms of "a character that's out of place in the universe" and in terms of "liked by everyone immediately, no trials, and is instantly good at whatever she tries".

Lore wise she also won't fit with the Star Guardian Universe because there's alot of death, betrayal and hardships. Lux and Ahri experienced those that's why they're really good universes. While Seraphine is just there famous without reason.
Basically, she's a female version of a shitty cliché-filled harem manga protagonist. She's a normal person at the beginning, then something weird happens and now she's the best at what she does and nothing bad ever really happens to her.

Seraphine needs a lore rewrite and shes not even out yet. What if she's a spokesperson who uses her voice to spread the news of hexcrystals being from an ancient race? The pop star look could just be a skin for her and her normal look would be more Piltover like.
Maybe she started as a popstar but then she learned about the hexcrystals so she used her popularity to voice this to the masses?
The more people analyze Seraphine, the more I'm disappointed. The story and lore of Runeterra has been so rich and amazing, and now we have Seraphine who stands out for all the wrong reasons
Honestly making serafin into a protest singer is a pretty easy solution to the problem. Her story as is remains the same cause she needs goodwill and a following first to challenge something so ingrained. It would also explain why the brakern is ok with this cause he understands shes playing the long game. Riot said that their working one vgu for a champion and honestly I think riot is working on a skarner vgu and his story will also push serafin forward.

Yup , it's the same power as sona's , except better , and doesn't require a magical instrument , and seraphine doesn't have to suffer being mute due to the power ( it's heavily implied that her power and being mute and the etwahl are a package deal)

I swear if Riot changed her to be the "Aspect of Harmony" it would make a huge difference. I could already see a lot of possibilities regarding her lore; she could be a wandering aspect, honed towards places that has a lot of dissonance (real seraphines power in league) that would make the whole story progress for runeterra go forward and it could even tie in with the arrival of Viego. such a miss opportunity by riot :(
plus it will be a good tie in with k/da seraphine, since skins are what if versions of the actual character. k/da sera could be the "popstar" what if of the aspect of harmony. im super disappointed riot :((

My personal favorite one was the route where she goes to Piltovan Doctors who think she's crazy and tell her she's fake-hearing stuff about the brackern (after all, no one would believe there's just souls in your batteries). Some mega rich guy who knew the real secret about hextech, or close to it, would sponsor her to shut her up (less messy than murder and better PR). He'd help her achieve her naive dreams of unity while he keeps her from hearing the truth. Inevitably, she would meet Skarner alone somehow (probably on a trip) and would be forced to either believe the kind doctors and businessman who helped her get to where she is, or this terrifying crystal monster trying to attack her and destroy her stuff.

one way I can see this story getting better, would be if the crystal she has is trying to take revenge and/or make her become a human Brakern. in the sense that it influences her at a young age while she was going crazy from hearing all the voices in her head, to want to bring everyone together into a hive mind like the Brakern did with each other's soul crystals. that way there would be no more struggle between Zaun and Piltover, everyone would understand each other and harmonize.

Recompilation on some of the top things I don't like about her:
-Looks like a star guardian for someone from zaun that moved to piltover which as far as I know doing that transition is basically impossible but for a champion it could be an exception if done well
-Basically sona but 2020 edition in game and lore, instead of harp music its (k)pop
-Riot always releases teasers and stuff for a champion release but for her it was all skin. Yone for example had both the event cinematic and the cinematic with yasuo a great balance of lore/skin for a new hyped champion.
-I remember some time back riot said they liked to release new champions with cheap skins (1350 and for kled it was cheap down to 975 due to quality) so if you really like this new addition everyone could afford it: but with her its an ultimate because you know, k/pop + girl + im quirky and stuff = money.
- Riot literally said what type of champion we could jam into k/da designed it forgot that it had to fit into runeterra since all skins are alternate universes so they put out a page long lore that seems to be written worse than one of my last minute chem lab reports.
Yone initially was seen in Runeterra. It was a strong companion who pretty much enables Yasuo's kit but their dialogue hinted on their whole backstory that we've seen in cinematic. People liked him and speculated that he would appear as a champion (shortly after we got cinematics).
Runeterra community also expects heroes like Cithria, Tianna, Kato and Shiraza, Vrynna.
Fyi Sona doesn't use a harp she uses a guzheng. Those are two very different instruments.

There, disguised as a human, she could hear the sounds of struggling souls within the crystals known to power Hextech. Thus, in order to save these poor souls, Seraphine decides to let her own voice be heard in place of these drowned out souls in suffering, hoping that through her, their pleas for freedom would be answered by the people of Piltover and Zaun alike.
Done. Much better lore in my opinion. Connects her to Sona's lore while giving her a place in Runeterra, and still connecting her with Piltover and Skarner, albeit with a less sociopathic tone.
Yeah, and then they could interact her with sona by her being the "summoner" that sona is talking to when picked in champ select.

Well, I understand what you're saying, you're still technically paying for the quests and the other two skins. That said, I don't like this at all, don't like sSraphine, don't like her design, she moves like Zoe her hair reminds me of Zoe, her glitz and glam is clearly trying to emulate Kpop in a world that cares more for science and prejudices, like maybe it'd be more forgive able if they just fleshed her out more and slipped in a little more Piltovan influence, for pete's sake! Look around! No one else is as advanced as Zaun and Piltover, nowhere else is gonna be able to share their cultural influences- no, not even Targon- with her for her to be able to do that, she'd be more at home in IRL than in the fantasy world, where she could actually get the exposure of worldwide Internet and cartoons to help her synthesize it! guess unless it's inspired by the fashion for little girls but I doubt Piltover would have that stuff in the first place... And it would mean she's not dressing her age.
TL;DR There is NO WAY for her to achieve something that disconnected from her own culture's fashion because no other culture is in the position to share.

I believe her songs were charming people because she sang the songs of the people around her, she would listen to their songs then sing them in a good way, as the story said, they were everyone's songs which didn't harmonize really weell, she'd just fix them up to make them all Harmonize and cauptivate anyone who'd listen to her.
As for the reason of why starting singing, the lore says that she wanted everyone to find their song lol, which supports what I said above.

I feel like Seraphine would fit better in Zaun as an evil character. Like, her being an underground singer there would make more sense. She still has her super-hearing, which her parents smuggle hextech crystals for to dampen it. But once she learns of it's origins, she uses it to her advantage.
I think her lore could make sense:
-Zaun and Piltover are use Hex-Tech and therefore the souls of the brakken.
-The soul of the brakken wants to use her to make the soul songs of the people of both cities ever more similiar until there is no difference between anyone and they become something of a hivemind.
-Since she can hear the souls of the brakken and they are in HexTech (and they are resistant to her attempts to influence them), they will, in essence, force their song upon the people of Zaun and Piltover.
-> The Brakken use Seraphine to make Piltover and Zaun part of their hivemind and Seraphine is unable to understand this evil plan.
I guess most of Riot's writing budget went to the spirit blossom event, which was well written and executed, especially compared to this garb.
