      @@yeshualionofjudah7107 Sure, Mr. Expert. No archaeologist or paleontologist worth their salt would EVER cut a fossil in half just because they couldn't lift it by hand. It's a given that you can't lift most T-Rex bones by hand just willy-nilly. They use forklifts or other heavy machinery to lift them; you know, those things we've invented specifically for that purpose.
      If they need to look inside a bone they drill. They don't destroy the entire thing by cutting it in half. That'd be moronic.

    I just see this through the eyes of a woodworker who builds guitars, it's an amazing feat of engineering and construction. It really is made entirely from timber, not panels of PVC made to look like wood. The graceful curves in the hull and all the detail work inside is awesome. Thanks for taking me here Adam, it's one of those things I probably won't see in person but it was fun seeing it through your perspective - as always.

    Answering your question 'Difference between ark and boat' Ark basically is a chest, box-shaped. Depictions of Noah's ark as a boat or boat-like structure are incorrect; it only needed to float, not steer, so no bow and no keel, just a three-story rectangular box.
    The Ark of the Covenant was also a chest but of course smaller and more ornate, the depiction in Raiders is pretty accurate.

    Do you know why this boatiest of boats is displayed on land and not on an ocean or lake? BECAUSE IT ISN'T SEAWORTHY! A wooden boat that size would twist and fall apart if you tried to float it in water.

    • @NyuuMikuru1
      @NyuuMikuru1 8 лет назад +2

      Unless the one in Bible was not made to float but to go under the waves.

    • @zacharytomes5202
      @zacharytomes5202 8 лет назад +3

      +NyuuMikuru1 Well, the boat would go under water regardless, the boat surely wouldnt survive underwater or under clashing waves, the pressure alone would destroy the Ark

    • @NyuuMikuru1
      @NyuuMikuru1 8 лет назад

      Not as a sub but more under the water so the waves go right over the boat. In Seach Of series of the 70s had an episode on how the ark was built and in what manner the boat would do in the sea.

    • @jonikutz9316
      @jonikutz9316 8 лет назад

      A good test would be a Tsunami so large it comes this far inland and then we will see if it floats. What would you say if it did?

    • @TheOriginalMaxGForce
      @TheOriginalMaxGForce 8 лет назад +2

      Joni Kutz,
      A tsunami in Kentucky? Well, that would require a miracle, now wouldn't it? As for the boat, the material used in it's construction (WOOD) is mechanically unable to withstand the forces pulling, squeezing, bending, and twisting it when scaled to such a ridiculous size. That's a stone cold fact. The story of the ark is childish fantasy.

  • @danfrancis8604
    @danfrancis8604 7 лет назад +6

    The ark was not boat shaped in all probability. Ark means box, same as the ark of the covenant, it was a box. Noah's ark was designed for one purpose, to float in order to keep what was inside alive. It wasn't designed to steer, sail, slice through the waves, speed or anything else except float. Apparently it did a pretty good job.
    If you read the account of the flood in Genesis you'll notice God brought the animals to the ark and when it was time to close the door, God himself did that.

    One common misconception is that the ark had a pointed bow. It had a blunt bow. It was just meant to float, not cut through waves.

    2:43 The door is very symbolic. It was the only way in and out of the ark. Everyone had the opportunity to believe Noah’s message from God, and the way to be saved is entering through the door of the ark. When the time came, God closed the door of the ark. Jesus called himself “the door” in the New Testament. Meaning, He is the way to salvation. And He is the only way. Believing in Jesus and accepting of Him as savior results in salvation and eternity with God and time in heaven. Hope this helps!

    I wonder if the ark story is true....you would think the heavier animals should be on the lower levels.That ship had to be so dark to move around in ,just to do any task...also who cleaned up that mess they left , and where did the waste end up . Where was the food stored

      It's a "Young Earth Creationist" (YEC) thing. They believe humans and dinos existed at the same time, and the Earth is around 6,000 years old. They take scripture in a very literal way, including the creation story in Genesis. I'm Roman Catholic, and we are not YEC nor do we take all of scripture literally. This ark exhibit is certainly impressive, it's just a shame there's going to be limited interest in it by appealing to such a specific minority of Christians by including dinosaurs.

      Tim Bachli Why? the biblical story of Noah is believed by people all over the world. Ken Hamm sees it in ways that others don't, i.e. Noah taking dinosaurs, but it's nothing to be embarrassed over. If you want to be embarrassed, be embarrassed about your own closed-mindedness and intolerance.
