Thank you for your inspiration watching you all these years has got me to start my own channel. I'm still figuring it out and getting comfortable doing these videos. but and advice or tips I would greatly appreciate and I have done a video of a place you have been to and mentioned you in it. I just want your blessing before I post it. thanks.
this was very interesting to me because my grandfather at one point guarded FDR at the little white house. according to the story he told us when their shift was up he would tell them not to go and would make them drinks all night
Those infestation tubes you saw on the bridge beams were Mud Dauber Wasp nests. Harmless but very freaky looking. Safe travels Adam. Keep up the excellent content.
The FDR home was very cool. I never knew that's where he died. i would have thought it was in New York state. You might want to give your van a health check. that tire was very low. you do drive a lot.
The siren was for the first responders ( fire , Rescue) for that over turned Cement truck. Small towns use them as we do here in VA where I live but mostly for major events.
I love how you're traveling America and seeing the sights! I wish I could do the same thing. We really take for granted how great this wonderful country is! So many people want to travel abroad but there's so much to see in the U.S.A.
Specifically, noon on Wednesday. Old civil defense protocol for testing. We even have places in the SF Bay Area that still do this. Which always made me wonder - if an *actual* emergency happened on Wednesday at noon, and the sirens went off, would anyone notice??
I loved visiting The Little White House years ago. Thanks for the return visit. Thank you for taking your time to share the fascinating historical information with us. I am looking forward to your adventures in Alabama.
So amazing to see the actual furniture (and even the toilet paper!) of FDR's home. And in a way, humbling. We will all be gone one day and to see the evidence of a life fully lived is a reminder to make a difference while you can. Really good stuff, brother.
I steer clear of bashing the dead, no matter their faults. Eternal justice is enough. Better to be wise as a serpent but gentle as a dove in this area, imho.
Well Adam, you did it, you had a covered bridge featured on your blog, only a couple of weeks ago on your state to state series I wrote that I would like you to find one, and you did, amazing. Those bridges bring Scooby Doo to my mind, but beetle juice as well, even the legend of sleepy hollow. Thanks for your fantastic videos, keep them coming. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴
It was really cool that you went through Senoia, Georgia, but was there sign near by telling you not to film across the coffee shop, because that's where the current filming location of The Walking Dead Season 8 is being filmed right now or also known as Alexandria. Also, the Woodbury Shoppe, did you see some of the actual props downstairs? That entire city of Senoia was known as Woodbury and filmed in Season 3! Great place to visit!
You came within miles again of where I am. Wish I'd had known! I'll catch one day. Be good, safe and happy travels! Glad to see you back on the road, again!
Adam, I want to let you know that the Majestic has brought your videos to the next level. I have been watching daily for years and your doing a fantastic job.
I don't get to watch until this afternoon. It's like a family thing now to watch Adam the Woo after school! We love ya, we appreciate ya and we thank ya!
In case you were serious about not knowing what the siren was, it sounds like it was a fire whistle. I'm from Clearfield, PA and if there is a fire, those sirens go off. It also goes off at 6:00 on Sunday. Every Sunday. There have been times where I've been 5-10 miles out of town and can still hear the fire whistle going off. I could be wrong considering I'm not from that town. But in the small town where I live, that siren usually means there is a fire.
Another fantastic vlog! I told my husband we need to go to the Little White House. I love things like that! Thank you so much for letting us sit in the passenger seat on your travels!
If you get to Mississippi I lived in Pascagoula, & Gulf Port area in the 1973. :) Adam those 'things' you saw on the boards of the covered bridge, was what we called 'dirt dobbers', they are like a Wasp! The old gas stations and country stores were popular when people used to travel those old highways, back in the day, before the big interstates. There is so much of America like that to see through out the South. But it is all slowly disappearing. My mama collected old bottles and she would have been all up IN that old gas station, weeds and all! :)
could be testing the siern, alot of towns test theirs on the first or last weds of the month at 12 noon ,was it noon when it went off ADAM THE WOO????????? lov your videos, those bugs things on the bridge they are called mud doppers, they look like wasps but they are black in color
It may also be going off as result of the accident he drove up on. Kind of sounded like there were two going off. Maybe they called for mutual aid from another Department.
I live in a tiny farming community and back in the 30's. To the 90's it was a booming little town. The noon siren was sounded everyday to let th workers in the fields it was lunch time. Now it goes off just for tradition sake. On a side not main drag has 50's music playing 24 hours a day. We're like a time capsule stuck in time.
Watched you leaving California to entering Alabama in the last few days and feel like I've been on a road trip. That's one tough van you got there. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Another great video! If you ever find yourself in the Vermont/ New Hampshire area, you can visit the Windsor-Cornish covered bridge. The longest wooden covered bridge in the world at 449 feet.
The siren is a monthly testing by Duke Power. They do it here too in nearby SC and it drives the dogs crazy when it happens. The tubes are made by a wasplike insect called dirt daubers. When Roosevelt died, my Mother In Law, who grew up beside the railroad tracks in Greenville, SC, watched his funeral train go by as it carried his body back to Washington. The dogs are Great Pyrenees. They're made for herding sheep and goats. I haven't been keeping up with your blog, sorry, so if you've already been there, oh well. But if not, I highly recommend you double back and hit Athens, GA. After all, REM and The B-52's came from there. Have a great trip. Had I known you were coming to this part of the world, I would have suggested coming up this way and we'd take you over to Newry Mill.
I should add... my grandfather (who, incidentally, had polio as an infant and had to use crutches all of his life) would tell me about the FDR funeral train when it came through Clemson. Can you believe that my grandfather and your grandmother saw the funeral train within an hour of each other!! There are some great old photos of the cadets lined up at the Clemson train depot (called Calhoun then) to pay their respects.
Yes sir that's exactly what I was thinking and here in Southwest Ohio in Brown county we still covered Bridges that look just like this. I think five maybe six covered Bridges to be exact that are still crossed by cars and trucks every single day. I love the old Bridges and actually they are historical landmarks here in this county. There are 1 or two of them that nobody ever uses but you can get out and walk across them. They have built new Bridges right next to the ones you can't cross. Let's see we have the old mcafferty covered bridge. We have the new hope covered bridge. We have the eagle Creek covered bridge. And the other two or three I can't remember the names but they are still here. I think the new hope covered bridge is the only one that not in use anymore.
Wished You could have visited the sights and sounds of North Georgia, but your trip to New Manchester was a gem unto it's self. Keep on Truckin Adam The Woo style!
Adam, your videos are awesome. But they need to be longer. Also would love to see you do a live vlog one day. Also again, I just moved to Hershey, PA. Are you working your way in this direction? Would love to meet you in person. Safe travels.
in most small towns when the siren goes off its to tell the volunteer firefighters that they need to go to the station for a call, hence the turned over truck in the video !
Here in Oklahoma....they usually test them every Saturday at noon unless the weather is not good....or after a big tornado they may take a few weeks off. I live in Moore so have been through some very big tornadoes
Amazing Vlog today. Your stuff is so cool, because it's done with a sense of honesty, integrity, and respect. Really dig that. Keep up the good work man. Very cool!
Oh wow that's truly amazing you do all the things I love to see in American history movies places old gas stations old cute houses I love it Thankyou from Manchester UK 💜
I will retrace the steps of the woo. It's on my bucketlist, thx for leaving a documentary of cool places to visit in America we'd never know about. Cheers Adam 🤙
on the bus watching thing and kids were thowing chocolate at me one hit the back of my head hard and the other one hit the back of the seat in front of me but this just made my day it would be even better if you replied😁
i still dont understand why he doesnt just use his first channel? hes got like 200k more subs there. more views, more money=better vids?? please explain
because these vlogs aren't about one subject like the original channel was . This channel is an evolution on what Ive done every day . Format has always been the same just a lot more intense now . Switching over would be way too confusing and break the streak . This is where I upload now
+adamthewoo I agree 100% love the Vlogs you get to see more ! I love the videos also but they are limited to 1 thing ! Keep doing you my friend it's worked this long why mess with perfection !
+adamthewoo I still don't know why everyone gets so concerned by this, you are providing a 10-20 minute blog everyday of your life. That should be more satisfying than a 15-30 minute video every couple of weeks. Smh. Thanks for the hustle Adam. You rock!
+adamthewoo Seems like someone brings this up everyday. To satisfy your flock why not upload your daily video to both channels for a couple of weeks and see where it goes. I myself started with you on your first channel then followed you over to this channel.
+Robert Ballard im not complaining about the vids or content. i like the vids just fine. its just hes leaving money on the table, i just dont understand why. im not saying hes gotta be all about the money but if its there for you why not use it.
Adam, none of your videos have ever disappointed me and this one definitely doesn't either. I love American history and this video is so interesting and full of information. I just wanted to say thank you for doing what you do. It is a pleasure to watch these.
The Waking Dead Café complete with siren going off and chainsaw...couldn't be better! The bridge was cool....I enjoy the history. Have a good day Adam!
Great tour love those historic places. Kinda cool thinking hey this person's hand was on this doorknob and now mine is. 💖 That arch made of trees 💖💖💖💖just say yes!! Loved that! Punch buggy blue, black and rusty... Alabama?? I wasn't expecting that sign. Whatcha up to? 🤔 That bite me item was pretty cool. 😉😜 You really packed a ton into today's vlog!! 👍💖👍
Another fabulous video 👍 I loved it! I didn't know where Teddy died at. Its cool how nearly everything in the house is preserved, down to the TP. Thank you for sharing with us 🌻
Thank you so much for your videos. Don’t know if I’ll ever get to the US, there’s so much to see, you’d need a few years to get around and see everything.
Hey Adam, LOVE your Daily vlog. Just a tidbit of info, the covered bridge is the same one seen at the end of the movie Lawless during the shoot out scene... also, if you make it back up to Northeast Tennessee, we have a nicely preserved Covered Bridge here in my hometown of Elizabethton, Tn. Take care and keep up the good work!
His Estate the " Summer White house" is located in Hyde Park New York . There's also a very big museum . The views are spectacular as the estate is situated on the Hudson River . If you head to upstate NY I highly recommend you stopping by .
Sirens in small communities are used for various ways of alerting the residents. In the farm area where I grew up, at 6 PM every evening, the local fire department sounded its alarm. Every evening. In the closest town to us, the volunteer fire departments (there were three of them) didn't use a siren; they used a series of "honks" (for lack of a better word) and those "honks" were coded to let the town's residents know EXACTLY what street and block the fire was. Of course, sirens are also used to alert residents as a tornado warning and, in the 1960s, in the heat of The Cold War, communities practiced using their sirens as a means of alerting residents to a missile attack (many of us has bomb shelters back in the day).
an overturned cement truck! I have an irrational fear of these trucks for that very reason... Once again, another quality vlog, keep up the good work my friend :)
Really great to see the FDR history and I hadn't seen that place before! Really enjoy seeing all these off the main road finds! Is much to see in US and you are really giving us some great vlogs!
The siren....its called a noon whistle. This noise sounds at 12 noon so those who didn't have watches knew it was meal time.....lunch or dinner depending on where you were raised. Northern folks have breakfast ,lunch and dinner. Southerners have breakfast, dinner and supper.
I rewatched some of your vlogs from 2012 , the progression of your filming , you sir have blossomed . thanks for being so fun and charming.
thanks so much
Adam not only your adventures are amazing but they inspire me to travel outside of my area and explore !!! Thanks Again !!!
Another full day . Thanks for sitting in the passenger seat
Ya welcome Thanks for the Vlogs Those are great sites
Can I hang my head outside the window?

Thank you Adam for letting us "tag along".
i live in birmingham alabama. come on over
Adam, you are SO blessed to be able to travel the states and enjoy all of the amazing and historical places you visit!
The gas station covered in the vines and shrubs is really neat. it's amazing how nature takes back everything.
As a former History Teacher and Fan of FDR..thanks so very much for this episode !!
Thank you for your inspiration watching you all these years has got me to start my own channel. I'm still figuring it out and getting comfortable doing these videos. but and advice or tips I would greatly appreciate and I have done a video of a place you have been to and mentioned you in it. this was very interesting to me because my grandfather at one point guarded FDR at the little white house. according to the story he told us when their shift was up he would tell them not to go and would make them drinks all night
Adam! Your filmaking & transtions keep getting even more awesome, yet still so natural!!
thanks Lucas
Absolutely fascinating! I Love all these places you go to. So much to see in our very own backyard!
5:45 that always just blows my mind. No matter what humans make, if not maintained, Mother Nature always takes over
Those infestation tubes you saw on the bridge beams were Mud Dauber Wasp nests. Harmless but very freaky looking. Safe travels Adam. Keep up the excellent content.

Glad you enjoyed your time in Troup County, GA and the surrounding area. Save travels.
Man, I love seeing all these cool historic things packed into one daily video....you're doing great Adam!
thanks, trying to cram in as much as possible each day
Adam, maybe the toilet paper of the day was always brownish? And no, I'm not making a really gross joke😜
+adamthewoo ive been to senoia and FDRS house becomes I live 3 minuets from warm springs
Just rewatched this. This is what got me hooked on Adam. If your listing Adam, please, more of this. Just a humble request, not a demand.
I am starting to feel like i am living a second life with the Woo..
And its wholesome entertainment for the kids
Thanks for tagging along
Its a pleasure.... would it of been weird if that place went all silent hill when the sirens sounded
yea these vids are great
I do too. I love watching these journey's and learn something new every day. I do feel like I am in the passenger seat lol.
I love how you're traveling America and seeing the sights! I wish I could do the same thing. We really take for granted how great this wonderful country is! So many people want to travel abroad but there's so much to see in the U.S.A.
5:04 I almost spit out my coffee laughing. The siren and chainsaw in unison were like a scene straight out of a movie!
ha right ? couldn't have been any better than that
Specifically, noon on Wednesday. Old civil defense protocol for testing. We even have places in the SF Bay Area that still do this. Which always made me wonder - if an *actual* emergency happened on Wednesday at noon, and the sirens went off, would anyone notice??
My town still does siren tests but ours are at 10am Tuesday. The tests are at like 1/4 volume though so if it were real, you certainly would know it.
I expected to see a long shot to the edge of town where herds of Walkers are seen to be shambling in the street!
I loved the statement "What the heck have I wondered in to? This town is moderately terrifying!"
"Mornings are for coffee, contemplation," and The Daily Woo! Thank you for always quoting Pee-Wee in the morning. Love it!
Your channel has become a go to daily thing for me now. My day isn't complete until I watch Adam the Woo then Casey the Neistat.
really appreciate that !
Yes, for me too. Adam, you feel like a friend now and I have to have my coffee with The Woo!
I loved visiting The Little White House years ago. Thanks for the return visit. Thank you for taking your time to share the fascinating historical information with us. I am looking forward to your adventures in Alabama.

Well Adam, you did it, you had a covered bridge featured on your blog, only a couple of weeks ago on your state to state series I wrote that I would like you to find one, and you did, amazing. Thought that looked like Woodbury....
@@patriciapritchard3018 But the real Woodbury is a little bit south, and yes, The Walking Dead was filmed in the real Woodbury too.
You came within miles again of where I am. Wish I'd had known! I'll catch one day. Be good, safe and happy travels! Glad to see you back on the road, again!
4:46 Guessing this was filmed on a Saturday, that was the weekly check of the Tornado Siren at Noon. It's a Georgia thang.
In_The_Kitchen_With_Katie some small town still blow the sirens for every fire call, maybe why the traffic was backed up on his way out of town
First Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM here in the upper Midwest
Adam, I want to let you know that the Majestic has brought your videos to the next level. I have been watching daily for years and your doing a fantastic job.
I love history (although being Australian some of yours is lost on me) Makes me want to go out exploring my own little world.
I don't get to watch until this afternoon. It's like a family thing now to watch Adam the Woo after school! We love ya, we appreciate ya and we thank ya!
Every time I saw a limo when I was a kid I always thought Michael J. Fox was inside. Long Live Marty McFly & ... Adam the Woo!!!!!!
Omg I tuned in today and was in shock that you are in my childhood stomping grounds ! 💕 thanks for the memories
Definitely one of the coolest videos ive seen adam, cheers buddy👏⚘
That was incredible! Thank you for showing us such a beautiful piece of American history :)
Adam, fyi, those are mud dauber nests on the covered bridge. Mud daubers area type of wasp.
Asheville Barb I was going to post the same thing!
Me too!
Thank you for bringing us along. This is one of my new favorite videos, and I really want to visit as well.
wow. that fdr tour was amazing. it's so rich of history.
Adam, your vlogs are priceless, thank you so much for letting us share your day.

Dalton Davis Really? Wow. Here in Clark NJ we have the fire whistle go off on a saturday at 12:00!
It used to be for everytime there was a fire!
Every Wednesday in Columbus Ohio at 12:00 pm ours go off
Not a fire: It was an accident involving an overturned cement truck.
Another fantastic vlog! I told my husband we need to go to the Little White House. I love things like that! Thank you so much for letting us sit in the passenger seat on your travels!
I'm Surprised you didn't film Alexandria. It was right at the end of main st in Senoia, GA.

I was just gunna say the same thing. The little town I lived in did that at noon.

They test ours every Wednesday at noon in Columbus Ohio.

You’re in the south. We test tornado sirens all the time. 😂😂
Some small towns have a noon siren that goes off everyday.

pods are what we call mud dabbers "wasps"
or dirt dobbers but yes wasps
oops i added my comment before seeing this. sorry for repeating!
+Ken Lawrence well at least u spelled it correctly 😊
We call them dirt dobbers where I live in Texarkana,ar but it's the same thing
Yes sir that's exactly what I was thinking and here in Southwest Ohio in Brown county we still covered Bridges that look just like this. FDR's home was very interesting. I enjoy seeing old artifacts and antiques.
Now let's see what you will find in Alabama!
The Siren is for the local volunteer Fire Dept. :)
The tornado 🌪 siren is going on because it was probably Saturday at 🕛 noon....
I love the historical places you go they're very interesting thanks for including them. Got my WOO fix, the day can begin!! Thanks Adam!!!!😀
Barbie Beach was a little less than majestic...
Oh my at 14:15 you passed in a no passing zone to get around that tractor. I am assured now that you are one of us, lol.
ahha that barbie beach got me going
Wished You could have visited the sights and sounds of North Georgia, but your trip to New Manchester was a gem unto it's self.
Keep on Truckin Adam The Woo style!
Adam, your videos are awesome. But they need to be longer.
Also would love to see you do a live vlog one day.
Also again, I just moved to Hershey, PA. Are you working your way in this direction? Would love to meet you in person.
Safe travels.
I film all day every day . How long do they need to be exactly ?
24 hours.
your vlogs are almost perfect just few more minutes long
+adamthewoo Adam your videos are perfectly long enough. Please don't make them any longer.
+Adam Hahn beat me to it!
in most small towns when the siren goes off its to tell the volunteer firefighters that they need to go to the station for a call, hence the turned over truck in the video !
In Georgia they test the sirens on a Wednesday!
You still need to come to Cartersville and visit Euharlee and Emerson.
In Minnesota they test siren the first Wednesday of every month.
+ComicwithIssues Its usually the first Wednesday here too but they've been slacking here lately.
Here in Oklahoma....they usually test them every Saturday at noon unless the weather is not good....or after a big tornado they may take a few weeks off. I live in Moore so have been through some very big tornadoes
Where I live in Georgia they test them every wed @ 11:30.
Amazing Vlog today. Your stuff is so cool, because it's done with a sense of honesty, integrity, and respect. Really dig that. Keep up the good work man. Very cool!

My husband claims he does not need to take me on any more vacations, I can just follow your adventures and say I've seen it all! hahaha!!
Loved this!! I loved in Newnan, GA for 11 years until recently. Newnan is just down the road.

Thank you Adam for visiting the Little White House. I live in GA and seem to never get around to venturing much. I love your vlogs.
Adam, the dirt-like tunnels inside the cover bridge are made by Dirt Dobber Bees. They are part of the Yellow Jacket family.
You're a lucky, lucky man Adam. Thanks for sharing your wonderings.
Thank you so much for your videos. Don’t know if I’ll ever get to the US, there’s so much to see, you’d need a few years to get around and see everything.
I love those old covered bridges, they have a lot in Tennessee
So I'm from a small town and the siren went off at noon and to call the volunteer firemen to a fire. :-) Thank you for sharing your adventures!!
I live about 10 miles from this. Incredible find Capt. Woo!
Very cool! Just found your channel, starting with this video! I love it. 👏🏽😃
Nice filming, drone, and post editing work.
Hey Adam we have several old cover Bridges just like this here in Brown county Ohio and they are still used and are a lot stronger than you realize.
an overturned cement truck! I have an irrational fear of these trucks for that very reason...
Once again, another quality vlog, keep up the good work my friend :)
I'm so thankful for you, Adam. have a super fantastic day!
Wow! You were 5 min from my house. That Barbie beach guy is NUTS! He also has them glued to the hood of his truck and drives around town like that lol
Great video! Very cool how you find all the historical places. Thanks!
