The shrug is beautiful and love the color. I like the tips you give that’s why I watch the whole video first. I turn the opposite way of you, your way is so much better so the chain doesn’t get twisted. Thank you! You’re great at teaching. 😃

What timing! My next project is another shrug. Totally different. This time a cardigan shrug with a wide border that closes at the top. It should upload this Saturday, 2/12/22.
Such a great pattern. I used size 5 yarn and did a few more rows of the border on the body and made longer bordered sleeves so it almost looks batwinged. I may add a button on the front. Thanks for such a great pattern- from one Chi-town girl to another.
Yes! That's how you adapt and work a pattern to make it your own. Sounds lovely! A button would be cool if the front is wide enough (mine wasn't). Great to hear from an almost neighbor. I was born and raised but no longer live there. Thank you for watching anc commenting!
@@CrazyCoolCrochet me too! I live very far from home now! Nonetheless, yes- I added enough to make a button work! Lovely pattern- thanks so much for sharing it! Please don’t stop! I look forward to your emails etc. 😊

Thank you so much! I had so much fun with this one. The Moss stitch is so easy and works up fast and worked great for this project. Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've been working hard to further my skills in crochet, and this shrug is perfect for my very first full garment project (as opposed to accessories such as hats, cowls, gloves, etc.). I appreciate that you use simple stiches in this project, as that makes it possible for someone like me who is only confident so far with a few basic stitches. The moss stitch is new for me, but you showed it here very clearly. It's a beautiful shrug! And this project even uses my favorite yarn, Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. Thank you again so much! ❤️

Thank you ididnt see the bigger sizes. It look goagious i buy we the wool and try it. You explanation is very helpfull. Let you know when i finish my garment
Hi I watched your cocoon and I want to make it is the St multiple 2 I need to add more stitches to make it wrist to wrist I like my sleeve bit long and I w ant to make it longer so I have abit of adjusting to do but I am doing it in aran so what hook would you use thanks
I'm happy you like this and want to make it with your own adjustments. Since I did not make this with aran yarn I cannot give you a hook size. You should however, start with a foundation chain in an even number.

Would you say that a small would fit a 5ft 2inch tall woman who measure between a 34-36 inch chest? I started crocheting a Medium size strip then wrapped around the widest part of my chest and both right and left edges of the crocheted strip just about touch each other right in the middle of the chest. Does this mean I’m crocheting overly loose or just not my size? By the way, I’m pretty much a beginner at crochet so I’m just not sure how to determine what size to go with in order to fit properly. I love your shrug, it’s beautiful!
Thank you for the kind words. It does sound like your panel is going to be too large. I would stay with the size small instructions. Stay with the tension and hook size you are using and that should be a better fit.
Do you mean an 8 as in 8mm or an 8 as in an H? If an H then you would need to adjust the starting chain quite a lot, but I can't tell you how many chains because that hook is WAY smaller than I used. If you mean an 8 mm then you can work with a looser tension and/or just add maybe 4 chains to the foundation chain. Not sure this is helpful. It is best to use the suggest size hook. Thanks for watching!
Well, I tried it with two strands of Aran and it worked out OK, but the border looked OK, but didn't fit very well, it kind of bunched up at the back and wasn't wide enough at front, but I now have a very handy thick square blanket as I unpicked it. I am still deciding whether to try a different border. Good luck everyone🤞
@@sandragriffiths9692 I'm so sorry for your frustration. Please understand that once a major piece of the pattern is changed (example: yarn used) there is a good chance the outcome will be skewed. And of course tension makes a huge difference. If you use a different tension than I used, that will also affect the end product. It should be possible to make adjustments and try again. Hopefully it still can be salvaged. Thank you for checking back.
@@CrazyCoolCrochet Thank you for your reply. Yes it was my decision, I was just letting you and everyone know in case they thought it was a success when it wasn't. I still think the pattern in great and it looks lovely in the picture. 😊
I don't have any instruction for adding a collar as that is not how it was designed. I'm not sure what kind of collar you have in mind, but I would need to design another shrug to add a collar. Hope this makes sense. Thank you so much for watching!
5 balls. At 01:46 I say that in the description area, the white space below the video, it will have the detail for how much yarn was used (along with a lot of other detail).
You can make the arm longer by using a longer foundation chain in an even number. That will increase the overall width as well. Look in the white space below the video, the "description area" for suggested numbers. And/or you can make the arm hole border longer. Add more rows to do that.

I made my panel too large. Is there any way I can fix it or will I just need to undo it and start over with a smaller chain?
Luv this. If I want to use yarn that says to use a size 8 hook will the starting chain still be 82 for small?
