J. Wagoner exactly!!! I would love to see those two videos too. And how about repasting the thermal compound on the XPS, and see how much performance gains it gives you, on the i7 and the i9?
Excellent video. I believe that Apple said that they made the keyboard quieter but really they were adding a membrane to stop dust getting underneath it. The quietness is a side effect of that membrane. Of course, they couldn't say that officially as that would admit there was an issue with the design of the old version. Clever marketing as always from those fellas :)
Forgot one important thing for creators. The dell has an HDMI and SD card reader I still find it unbelievable that apple took away the magsafe and Cardreader I switched to windows after 10+ years on Mac. I do sometimes miss FCPx but resolve and premiere are great when you get used to them. Osx is the better OS but windows 10 actually never really crashed on me. I type a lot during travels and the sound of the MacBook is terrible plus I just can't get used to the keytravel (we also have a 13" mbp). Overall both are high end premium laptops but as a creator I really feel Dell has the best all-round laptop.
Funny whenever I go to tets laptops I find the sound on the MacBook to be the thing that always pulls be back to the MacBook... Win laptops suck at that still.
are you still happy with your choice? Asking to be sure, I'm also thinking about getting a Dell XPS 15 but there are so many reports on early breakages and issues. I want to know if everyone is having problems
Great work, just bought a Dell XPS 9570 myself and absolutely love it and, seeing this review, makes me wonder why Apple is charging an extra £800 for a worse computer.
Fanboys mainly, you will come across poor excuses such as "MacOS is better" or "It has FCPX", but in reality Windows is much pretty easy to use and will have much more customization and rarely your average consumers barely have a use for FCPX. Techno Eclipse Always better having reason to buy things rather than just because the sake of the premium 😁😁. The XPS 15 is pretty good for every day use while being able to game on it. I also believe that the MacOS inhibits the performance of Adobe, so the XPS is actually better in your case lol

Excellent review. One point could have been discussed though: longevity and resale value... I think the cost per year perspective could be interesting. Thx and big thumbs up for the good work 😉👍
I just bought a used dell xps 15 9560 which is the previous model to the one just reviewed, for $1500 AUD and its the best decision I've ever made. The performance on this unit is amazing not to mention the quality of the unit itself. Do yourself a favour and test the unit yourself to see how good it really is.
I want a good laptop for school and video editing. I'm already pretty invested into the Apple ecosystem and initially wanted the MBP, but the XPS specs are just so much better it's hard to ignore...
Lenovo Carbon doesnt even have dedicated graphics and is more expensive than the xps so i think it is an awful option. And you shouldn't forget that it doesnt even look good.
As a viewer, I really really really appreciate you factoring in price as opposed to the other riddiculous tech channels that don't even mention them. Earned a new sub!
I see this a lot on tech review videos, but feel it needs to be corrected because it's a little misleading: Gamut coverage =/= Color Accuracy. You should look at Delta e values to measure overall color accuracy. It's relevant in this head-to-head because the MBP gets Delta e values under 1, which is really really good. Professional-level good.
I already made my move and got away from that “apple ecosystem”. I mean, considering not only smartphones like galaxy s10 that blows away iphone and also costs less, that Dell XPS is way better and costs £800 less. People need to wake up!
I had the dell XPS for 2 months and have been a pc user for the last 10 years. Recently switched the dell for a MacBook Pro and I love it. Also got an iPhone and AirPods with a gift card thanks to the other two purchases and they all work seamlessly together. Never thought I’d care so much. I can write or copy and paste things between the phone and the laptop. I use the laptop for photoshop with large Sony A7r3 files, capture one and Lightroom with no issues and feels just the same as the dell XPS 9570 (32gb ram) and 9575 (8gb). It’s also nice the colors are the same on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Thanks for review... I'm buying my system primarily for coding python, javascript, java... web development, AI, Machine learning... $3500 MBP with 1TB & 32GB $1850 XPS with 1TB & 32GB While most of web developers I've talked with own MBP ... I'm going with Dell XPS because of cost... Again thanks for video review...
The Tech Chap lies in this video about color accuracy. As such no one should trust anything he says, you have been warned. Not true at all., The macbook pro is still the best option. This video is full of lies/omissions. The macbook pro renders and finishes videos much MUCH quicker than the dell if you're using Final Cut. Of course adobe premier is going to go quicker on a windows it was made for windows. Use something that's made for mac and the macbook pro (even a simple macbook) can render a video quicker than the dell xps.
T Bone thats true. His review was so biased. There is no comparison with macbooks. I am a macbook user, i switched to windows laptop. I feel my self in a stone age. So i went back for my macbook.
For those photo/video editing beware of one huge problem with the xps 15. The screen is very heavy on the reds and way over saturated. It’s pleasing when just watching things but is a huge problem when you need your colors to be accurate
Finally the confusion between the two is resolved after watching this video. I'm finally going with Dell XPS 15.. Thanks Tech Chap for the detailed comparison.
You just made it easier for me to buy the Dell and install Hacintosh (MacOs Monterrey) on it. In that case, I can enjoy both worlds. I will actually be walking around with 2 laptops in 1. Thanks
Most people in the US probably pick XPS 15 for the cheaper price than the macbook pro, because the price difference is so huge, it's a no brainer. But in the country I live in (Indonesia). The cost of US imports are so huge that makes the price of XPS 15 almost the same, if not more expensive than the macbook pro. In this case, I just picked the 15 macbook pro because, in the long term macbooks usually has the big advantage of resell value. If you buy a laptop that costs more than 2000$ dollars, you have to think it as an investment so you can sell it with price that is not far from the original price tag.
Doing a separate review for the MBP? And btw the throttling issues for the i9 MPB has now been fixed with a patch. Would be nice if you had mentioned that in your video but nonetheless this was a great comparison
the terrible thermal management will kick in for apps that are cpu intensive, gaming is hard on the gpu so thermal throttling wont affect it as much unless if your using the i9 before patch.
3:07 The reason it's quieter is because they added a silicone membrane underneath the keys to protect them from dust and crumbs. This is supposed to fix the issues that the keyboards were having. So yes, they did supposedly fix it. Though I don't think it has been tested yet because the laptops just came out.
Despite the recent upgrade of the MacBook Pro, I feel that the XPS 15” is probably the best. Apple may be premium, but with Dell + Windows 10, you can’t really go wrong.
Marvin B: I would normally agree with you, Apple has some amazing products. But in the past few years, Apple has been really inflexible with their products. I just can’t get over things like dongles and strictly non-upgradeable hardware. Apple products are great and last forever, but I am very concerned about their future. I feel they have boxed themselves into a corner with their no-touchscreen policy and frankly outdated performance. All for a nearly outrageous price. I would normally take Apple’s side in a matter like this, but it’s 2018, and I feel Apple refuses to look forward.
Funnily enough, windows is the only reason I would even consider choosing the MacBook Pro over the XPS. The XPS wins out on all other aspects, except the trackpad.
Great video! I wish you had covered Ubuntu/Linux. I think the operating system plays an enormous role in your everyday workflow. A lot of people would rank Linux over MacOS and then Windows if it comes to performance, privacy, and security! This is a very interesting aspect since DELL already ships the XPS with Ubuntu and i am very much tempted to order one of these.
Sorry tech chap but you’re wrong about the butterfly keyboard on the new 2018 MBP. Besides the more “quiet”- It actually has a membrane underneath to prevent dust and particles from getting in as easily... but otherwise great video :)
Johnny IsBoss Apple actually havent come out and said that's what's its for... Theyre only promising quieter operation. Although theres no doubt why its actually there...
Great comparison! My XPS 15 with i9 is due to be delivered today. However, I'm pretty sure Dell advertise the 4K Touchscreen as being 100% AdobeRGB, not 87%.
I love Apple products, but after doing my own hands on comparisons (in addition to watching numerous reviews like yours) I decided to go for the Dell XPS 15 (i9, 4K). It’s on it’s way as we speak. Cheers and keep it up!
I got the pink screen issue on my 2500pound MBP (flexgate). I am strongly considering jumping brands, and going xps. I only bought mac because of many years of final cut usage, but now my new jobs all using windows, and that seems to be the dominant platform in the tv industry.
IF thats a joke then its bad if its not then am sorry to say this but ure quite foolish. Lemme ask u something render the video with final cut on mac then with the same mac run windows in bootcamp and carry out the same test with adobe premiere, wouldnt final render faster. We're not comparing applications, we're comparing cpu performance between the two.
I think the Dell XPS line has been a huge step up but I've been that embedded in MAC OS for the last ten years it's hard to go back so I'd probably opt for the Macbook Pro despite the outlandish price tag.
Never do a comparison of similar specs against the MacBook, do instead it competitive with the same price to compare the value that you get for your money on both computers
To be honest, he contradict's so many of his earlier saying's. Not just that he as well speak's with the office of Dell. I think some one among us has been payed out.
Specifications, price, performance.... this was so easy for the Dell Saludos desde El Salvador, tienes uno de los mejores canales de tecnología en RUclips.
I just hoped you would do the comparison between "average" configurations for each laptop instead of having the best gpu etc. However, still a great work!
I have a quick question, can you display more things on a 4k screen ? For example, are the icons smaller or simply sharper ? Because, the battery life is really important to me, and I don’t really see what are the pros of taking the 4k screen.
Technically, you could scale your text, icons, etc to smaller size to fit more on it, but that wouldn't benefit you very much. Everything would still look sharp, but would be smaller and of course harder to read. I purchased the XPS 15 4K i9 version and I love it. I undervolted the CPU and now get about 6-7 hours of battery life editing photos in Lightroom at 40% brightness while listening to music, with no discernible performance drop. However, one other thing to note is that by scaling down your resolution to 1080p, you get slightly better battery life, although I only saw about a 45 min to one hour increase on average by doing so.
I looked at a lot of reviews and tried both laptop. Both feels premium. I personally chose to go with the xps 15 for compatibility with finance modelling programs and programming, there are more information on forums for windows plateformes. If I would’ve been in video or photo editing, the choice would’ve been much harder.
The Mac book pro looks much better Imo. Just too much plastic for me on the Dell. Which do you use as your daily driver? I'm still tempted to get the Mac. Its a better os in my view with better third party apps. A lot of people who slag off the Mac in my experience have never used one and often know very little about computers. The Mac may be more expensive but I guarantee youll get more of that money back when you sell it 4 years or so down the line. The Dell would be worth very little of it's original purchase price.
Richard Dale I do agree the Mac”s retain value. Sold my base 15 inch touchbar edition from 2016 for $2000 AUD and picked up the Dell in the video for $2450 AUD
Something interesting I've found about the XPS touchpad (and any touchpad that uses Windows Precision Drivers) is that the scrolling is drastically different in applications. Not sure why. I had a MBP with Windows 10 and had no issues with scrolling speed; when I switched to the XPS, man applications had issues with scrolling. One interesting fix was to change the color of my cursor in Windows... that actually worked a little 🤦♂️. Still, even in VS, the scrolling speed between the solution explorer and the editor is huge.
Lol wth.. If he really wanted to make this comparison "as fair as possible", he should've picked i7 - 8750H for MacBook Pro. Here Macbook Pro's processor has 2.6GHz of base clock with 4.3GHz of maximum turbo boost clock rate. That is significantly better spec than XPS's processor that has 2.2GHz of base clock with 4.1GHz of maximum turbo boost clock rate... Yeah, MacBooks inarguably have garbage thermals so they will never reach those "promised" clock speeds, but that also explains why MacBooks got better results in Geekbench because it is a shorter test...
Tashreef Shareef Me and virtually every actual techie under the sun. You get the most for your money for Mac vs literally every Windows OEM. I’ve used both.
Yep, it is but no one uses it so they can get away with it for those thin bezels. I wish my mac would have smaller bezels even if it came with that cost :/
I need to communicate with freelancers etc so I hope Apple will never put camera in such place... maybe just slightly slightly bigger bezel on that XPS to fit small camera.. would be then a 100% a perfect laptop. Just this little detail haha ;D they can do it!!
It's a tradeoff for the way the screen looks tbh, for your specific use case it definitely is a deal breaker but I'm gonna bet that more than 80% of people have never even spun up their laptop camera. I myself use a mbp, just ended up with it but I would love to see the bezels go, they're a bit ugly compared to a lot of modern screens. I wouldn't be so convinced they wont, people said they'd never get rid of TouchID and look at the iPhone X haha, that had a very large user base and it was practical and they cut it with no remorse. I have a good feeling they might once they actually change the laptop design, we don't know when that is though.
Brandon Landry I do have 15” Razer Blade. It’s so hot during simulation that you can not touch the keyboard. I regret buying it. I’ll get this MacBook ( for my work is more than enough and it doesn’t get so hot outside! ) and dat XPS is next in line.
I'd go with the Dell, I hate apple for many reasons, everything is proprietary and overpriced, they're just unethical in my book, they make beautiful laptops but I don't like them as a company, I'm a Lenovo fanboy for the most part and I'm a big fan of Linux
I used to think the same way, but if you mentioned overpriced, the fact these laptops are over priced, ends up as a good thing in their resale value. Secondly, the laptop is beautiful, something about apple is that their products last, idk how they manage that but my friends are using iPhone 6s till this day, in that meantime I've seen my sister switch 2 galaxy phones, i switched 3 phone total, one of my best friends got 2 phones in that time interval, now the real realization being my iPhone friends spent less money in last 3 years on a phone than 4 other people and have not faced any issues which i faced. So i think that justifies the cost. Also I'd like to end with my own experience, the other day i used macbook air (non 2018) the display was sucked as I'm used to an oled now. But aside from that fact, Macbook air ran as smooth as any new windows pc. I was shook to realize that was a 3+ year old laptop. No windows pc will give you that. Unless you plan on going xcarbon or xps who have issues as well bec it's a windows foundation that's the problem macos being highly stable due to unix, but competitively speaking macbook seems overpriced but they are every bit worth it.
@@maniksahdev4292 I disagree about being overpriced being a good thing, but that may be because I'm a Socialist and I'm seeing it from a different vantage point
@@toddlefebvre5165 over pricing their products isn't a good thing ofc, never said that, all i wanted to convey was *the apple premium consumers pay while buying* stays there and reflects back when they are selling the product, making the final transaction same prices as a whole. As an economics student, here's a very simple example. Premium windows ultrabook costs 1000$ to buy, after 3 years use (if it's still in working condition) will be sold be 180-290$ at best. While Macbok air 2018, costs 1199$ go buy after 3 years of use, it's surely gonna be in good condition software wise and the built quality stands with time in apple's case. You could easily sell that for 400-500$ after 3years of use. A) windows = 1000-250 = 750$ effective final cost B) mac = 1200-450 = 750$ final effective cost. I hope i wasn't rude and made my example simple.
@@toddlefebvre5165 i used to love xps untill recently & but the small things like coil while, windows crashing updates and bugs, made me want to research other options and then i did a practical analysis of how apple even managed to sell it products when they are so damn expensive. It took me time to understand the same but the apple premium never fades away, sad reality is that status symbol it has become, one can be ignorant and choose not to see it, but he can't deny the reality, which is that, it exists whether the person accepts it or not.
Okay, so aesthetically the Dell won because of two pointless features? A laptop with a 4k screen is utterly pointless simply because you literally do not notice the sharper content on such a small screen! And because of the Adobe rgb, which is pointless unless you're printing; but people who print usually have a much larger display than 15.6 inch. Another thing to mention; why are you testing the gaming capability on laptops that aren't made for gaming? Yes Apple said you can play fortnite on their website; have you never heard of their marketing techniques before..? Both laptops are for creative people, so testing through editing software is literally the only test you could possibly do, as well as storage speeds as these kinds of people pass through a lot of data. But even then, it doesn't really come down to performance because people who buy Macs mostly use final cut or davinci resolve and people who buy and use windows machines use prem pro. It's a very narrow comparison between these! I personally think it's down to what preferences you have and what software you use. And just to note; I'm not slating Dell or Mac. I'm just simply pointing out the narrow comparison that's there for these laptops. But personally; I've been more persuaded to Mac because of the whole windows 10 bullshittery.
@@Tom3294. well I guess I just have a keen eye but I can tell the difference especially when I go to work on my 1080p monitor, it feels more pixelated after using my phone
it is definitely sharper. the difference might not be crystal clear but you do notice the difference. try displaying a high resolution photo on a 4k versus fullHD and tell me you cannot see the difference. When editing photos for example having a 4k screen is amazing.
Icy Kofan Slightly sharper. You’d only notice the difference if you’re zooming in. But tbh you shouldn’t be editing on a small screen if you need to print large, that doesn’t make any sense. Even then, you’re restricted to camera quality. If you’re video editing - then it doesn’t matter if you have a 4K display, your paying for something you don’t need. Literally no point for 4K displays in small screens for such a mental price gap - Get a monitor where you can actually see the difference.
Just a heads up: Apple saying that the keyboard is quieter is simply damage control. They want to redirect the attention from the real problem with last year's keyboard by advertising that it's quieter. They did fix the main issue where it got damaged by little pieces of dust, but they don't want to draw attention to it because that would be admitting that the 2017 model really did have a bad keyboard. In contrast, saying that last year's keyboard was too loud makes it sound like a fine keyboard with a minor flaw.
1/. people think Apple devices give them status 2/. people only care about aesthetics 3/. people are highly susceptible to marketing 4/. people are not very computer/tech savvy 5/. misplaced brand recognition (Apple used to be pretty decent).
Bas Heijnis that’s just your apple hating prejudice. Why don’t you actually ask the professionals who prefer macs. No, actually there is no use trying to persuade apple haters or isheep.

It’s also nice the colors are the same on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
dell xps laptop is much better...there is no way around it. 800 dollars difference....thats freaking a lot!
Tom Alawatte That is true for a lot of people, but not everyone thinks MacOS and Final Cut Pro X is worth $800
im returning my xps 15 for the new mbp
How people will know you are using an expensive laptop if you are using XBS 15.
Bolaris Linux doesn't have final cut pro
Bolaris I haven't used any of them so I can't comment.
Thanks for review...
I'm buying my system primarily for coding python, javascript, java... web development, AI, Machine learning...
$3500 MBP with 1TB & 32GB
$1850 XPS with 1TB & 32GB
While most of web developers I've talked with own MBP ...
I'm going with Dell XPS because of cost...
Again thanks for video review...
why...are..you..writting...like...this...
hey are you happy with dell xps ?
This is just sad. In the past the MBP was at least a decent option for content creators. But it's losing out in every single area this time.
Yeah, its crazy, i was a Mac user but now i feel like im paying more for bad keyboard, less performance, less ports and i cant even play games
For those photo/video editing beware of one huge problem with the xps 15. The screen is very heavy on the reds and way over saturated. It’s pleasing when just watching things but is a huge problem when you need your colors to be accurate
So chaps - what do you reckon? Macbook Pro 15 2018 or Dell XPS 15 9570 - Which would you go for (and why)?
Dell
The Tech Chap Dell ftw idc even if i have to repaste and undervolt
Apple fixed the performance issues with i9
#DellXps15 as it has windows and it play AAA titles very well
Tom Alawatte on what basis ?
Thank you for this review!
Fully agree with what you say, had a difficult decision to make quite recently to pick between them.
Went for XPS.
Like your new Office setup, seems more Pro, love the content!
Just fyi: Apple did fix the bread crumb keyboard issue (it now has a membrane)
Been waiting for this one, Tom! Cheers!
Finally the confusion between the two is resolved after watching this video. I'm finally going with Dell XPS 15.. Thanks Tech Chap for the detailed comparison.
Could you make the comparison between the macbook pro 15 and the computer ASUS ZENBOOK PRO 15 SCREENPAD UX580GD?
Yoya dell xps mahal aja yg gtx 1050 bisa 35 juta. Wtf
Great review...well done.... no-nonsense, to the point, and what we want which is information. Thumbs up.
I'll wait for the XPS 2019. I currently have the MacBook Pro 2011.
It was exactly what I needed, I can not find this kind of review in my language. Thanks
Doing a separate review for the MBP? And btw the throttling issues for the i9 MPB has now been fixed with a patch. Would be nice if you had mentioned that in your video but nonetheless this was a great comparison
Lars he wasn't reviewing the i9 models though, so throttling wasn't really an issue here.
You can't fix a hardware problem with a software you fucken idiot.
No that was due to the absolute integrated crap graphics. You get a gtx 1050ti in the xps.
the terrible thermal management will kick in for apps that are cpu intensive, gaming is hard on the gpu so thermal throttling wont affect it as much unless if your using the i9 before patch.
Yasser Elgreatly chill tf out bro. No need to start a drama
Apple may be premium, but with Dell + Windows 10, you can’t really go wrong.
it all depends. i just like my apple devices and even with different windows laptops and pcs i would never turn in my macbook for a windows laptop.
A "premium" price does not a "premium" product make.
Windows and can’t go wrong, that’s an oxymoron
Funnily enough, windows is the only reason I would even consider choosing the MacBook Pro over the XPS. The XPS wins out on all other aspects, except the trackpad.
I think this may have helped in deciding which will be my next laptop. Thanks!
thank you for this review as I am battling with which one would be best for photo editing.... this was so helpful!
Man was I excited for this! This is my EXACT same situation. I'm torn between both the Macbook Pro 15" these exact specs vs the XPS!!!
and me xps 15 vs extreme x1??
So why exactly is anyone buying mac anymore? It seems they've really lost their innovation edge but not their high prices. Sad.
I’ve had my dell xps 15 for a week now and I absolutely love it!
have HP 8540w. Still rocking :)
My old HP failed but I'm starting to think they are improving quality.
This man is so underrated as a youtube tech reviewer.
I got the MacBook Pro 2017 and I should admit I regret it! Dell XPS would have been better. I have to live with this for a couple of years now!
sorry to hear it, just give it a chance, good luck :)
Resale value is good tho
Although theres no doubt why its actually there...
hopefully it does! We'll just have to see i guess!
shhhh, you don't want Apple to lose the lawsuit haha
Wanted to point this out too..
r/woosh
Great comparison! My XPS 15 with i9 is due to be delivered today.
However, I'm pretty sure Dell advertise the 4K Touchscreen as being 100% AdobeRGB, not 87%.
Your channel is growing. I hope you don't forget about us when you are famous.😂
I love Apple products, but after doing my own hands on comparisons (in addition to watching numerous reviews like yours) I decided to go for the Dell XPS 15 (i9, 4K). It’s on it’s way as we speak. Cheers and keep it up!
What abt durability.?
Which is the best for 5-6 years of smooth use!
Totally agree! On order Dell XPS 15 i9 32 gb ram and 2tb ssd - total overkill for laptop, but will work as my desktop replacement, too.
I wish I had a lot of money to buy both.
Thank god you did an i7 comparison ....... i was just searching for just that one.....thanks a lot Sir.
Surface book 2 vs XPS 15 2018 video
ili 129 yes to this. Deciding between these two myself.
Yessss...
ili 129 that’s the video I need, I’m deciding between these 2 as an engineering student laptop
Yeah Surface Book 2! So excited for that video.
XPS 15 has 6 cores whereas surface book only has 4
Fantastic presentation, I will go for XPS 15
Great to see your channel growing. Does the Dell come in 13"?
Yes it does, the Dell XPS 13.
Shreyas Aradhya P okay thanks!
Yea it does, but it has some cutbacks, such as lack of a dedicated graphics card and more
Harsh Shekhar thanks for advice.
I got the pink screen issue on my 2500pound MBP (flexgate). I am strongly considering jumping brands, and going xps. I only bought mac because of many years of final cut usage, but now my new jobs all using windows, and that seems to be the dominant platform in the tv industry.
Do a adobe on window
Vs
Final cut on macOS
Take the best from both the platform
Very insightful video and useful comparison
Lovin' Your Work!
Specifications, price, performance.... this was so easy for the Dell
Saludos desde El Salvador, tienes uno de los mejores canales de tecnología en RUclips.
XPS is better because you could use all the software that's out there for business vs mac where you're limited on what you run.
bootcamp is the solution for that
I just hoped you would do the comparison between "average" configurations for each laptop instead of having the best gpu etc.
However, one other thing to note is that by scaling down your resolution to 1080p, you get slightly better battery life, although I only saw about a 45 min to one hour increase on average by doing so.
people should buy upgradable laptops , DELL XPS is NOT UPGRADABLE .
it is actually. you can upgrade ram.
Thank you all, I think I am gonna stick with the FHD and later buy an extra monitor if I need to display more windows !
Upgrading your laptop is a meme. It will soon be all soldered anyway (like MBPs) in favour of sleeker designs.
Solid review, really good positives for both laptops. Nice to see someone choosing a Dell over an Apple laptop 👍🏼
Dell XPS is my dream laptop, I'll never be able to afford it though.
Dell is my dream laptop my name is unicornpinky and naimazeeshan is my mom account
Richard Dale: there is no plastic - its carbon :-)
Better third party software on apple? Are you smoking crack?
Amazing review Tom superb
MacBook pro can not compare to XPS 15. How about the surface book 2?
林昱安 yup
Yeah Surface Book 2! haha
Yes you can compare, it has been done.
sure surface book 2 is a good competition
it is a good competition, but it is also a lot more expensive
Something interesting I've found about the XPS touchpad (and any touchpad that uses Windows Precision Drivers) is that the scrolling is drastically different in applications. Not sure why. I had a MBP with Windows 10 and had no issues with scrolling speed; when I switched to the XPS, man applications had issues with scrolling. One interesting fix was to change the color of my cursor in Windows... that actually worked a little 🤦♂️. Still, even in VS, the scrolling speed between the solution explorer and the editor is huge.
Did you compare Macbook Pro's i7 - 8850H to XPS15's i7 - 8750H?
Daniel Lee yes he did
Daniel Lee which it can't reach anyway because of bad thermal design
Yeah, MacBooks inarguably have garbage thermals so they will never reach those "promised" clock speeds, but that also explains why MacBooks got better results in Geekbench because it is a shorter test...
thx t
so much brooo this is hella helping my laptop choice for my photgraphy and videography passion
If you use Adobe Premiere, get the XPS, if you use final cut,
Does final cut works with windows?
Exalaxy X who cares if you can use windows 10 in macbook pro.. macbook supports dual boot OS
Use something that supports Intel QuickSync like PowerDirector, since that's what makes FCP fast AFAIK.
Tashreef Shareef
Me and virtually every actual techie under the sun.
You get the most for your money for Mac vs literally every Windows OEM.
I’ve used both.
I was waiting for this video for a long timeeeee. I'm now getting the dell xps 15! Would you do a review on the Dell 27 7777 AIO ?
That camera position on the XPS is a joke 😂
Matthew Jura It really is. The thing is I never use the camera on my laptop anyway.
I went with the Dell 15.6" 9570, Core i7, 4k touch, 32Gb ram, 1Tb ssd, and saved £1300 compared to the same spec MBP. And I can't fault it yet.
I bought a £2700 Dell XPS, even though I live in an apple eco-system, LOL
Ditto I'm looking to buy the same one and I'm in the apple ecosystem
Well, it is a very good laptop, but it just takes a bit of getting used too :)
@@StarNightGaming holy fuck I tested one I may bitch about apple on a conveyer belt but I never realized how much I take for granted with them
Thanks for this honest review, was about heading to Apple again, but since my phone is only linked to Apple eco system, I might give dell a shot.
A) windows = 1000-250 = 750$ effective final cost
B) mac = 1200-450 = 750$ final effective cost.
I hope i wasn't rude and made my example simple.
@@maniksahdev4292 no I get what you're saying now, that makes sense, and you do get a couple more years out of a MacBook too so makes sense
Great video! Guess I'll be buying a Dell XPS.
We be buyin laptops and sheeet
Fortnite is not optimised for macos
Plus if u want games buy a window
macOS is not good for gaming everybody knows that
who asked you
yeah everybody knows that
you damn right
This really helped I’ve been looking for a laptop for school and a secret gaming laptop at the same time and the dell seems perfect!! Thanks
Actually I can tell the difference from 1080p to 1440p on my phone
@@kiyoko335 1440p and 4k is a massive difference that cannot be seen On a device as small as A 15 inch..
@@Tom3294. well I guess I just have a keen eye but I can tell the difference especially when I go to work on my 1080p monitor, it feels more pixelated after using my phone
it is definitely sharper. the difference might not be crystal clear but you do notice the difference. try displaying a high resolution photo on a 4k versus fullHD and tell me you cannot see the difference.
Wonderful video.. but just want to know.. how about speaker? Which one is better!
9750 or 9570???
az zahar 9570
Both are nearly same in performance. Go for 9750. 9570 is hell more wxepwnsive with very small difference.
Clean video as always mate
Damn dell for the kill.
I wouldnt touch the MacBook. Mostly becuase it would over heat and burn you 😂😂😂
Just a heads up: Apple saying that the keyboard is quieter is simply damage control.
_Video Summary_ : The Macbook Pro is *premium junk*
Thanks for your honest review! I will go for Dell
So then, the big question : why the heck do people buy MacBook pro???
1/. people think Apple devices give them status 2/. people only care about aesthetics 3/. people are highly susceptible to marketing 4/. people are not very computer/tech savvy 5/. misplaced brand recognition (Apple used to be pretty decent).
If you have to ask you're a child.
Bas Heijnis that’s just your apple hating prejudice. Why don’t you actually ask the professionals who prefer macs. No, actually there is no use trying to persuade apple haters or isheep.
