I received one from my grandfather once he passed... still in original box... unfortunately it's not working properly, so I'm still considering paying the $ to have Omega restore it to its original glory... not my type, but as I continue to research about it and learn about it, it's starting to grow on me... great video!
It is very special when you inherit something so beautiful! Every time you look at your wrist, you are happy about the great watch and at the same time you think about the moments you experienced with your grandpa.
I have my grandfather's Omega Seamaster De Ville in the original box and all the papers. It is as new condition. Have the "International Guarantee" with the Movement Number, Metal Reference, Grandfathers name , the jeweler, Pontiac Wholesale Jewelers and the sale date. He worked in the automotive industry and it was a retirement gift from his employer. I have the congratulations card from the company. It is really a lovely timepiece.
@@GoldammerVintageWatches They are special. I gave it to my son and he put a strap on it. Looked fantastic on his wrist. One day I see the box on my bookcase so I called him, "why did you bring your great-grandfather's watch back?" His response, :The watch is like brand new dad, if I put any kind of blemish on it I would never forgive myself," A great video would be to get all of these people that have inherited watches together so they can share their story, who it came from, why they feel it came to them, what the person meant to them and of course the timepiece.
I've got one, I have no idea if its history, though. All I know is it's a 1968 year of manufacture. It is a very beautiful watch & I would like to learn more about it.
Great vid very informative. I have a 1962 seamaster without deville logo on dial. Thanks for explaining the reason for this simply being year of manufacture.
Hi, I got this Watch from my father, and I was just wondering about the omega automatic label. My watch only has the omega label at the top and the sea master de ville at the bottom. Do you think my watch is older because it’s not automatic?
Could you tell me at the 60s manual winding seamaster deville, what is the different between 165020 and 66020? Also, does this model no. engraved at theins

Thanks so much! Just give it to a trusted watchmaker, it’s definitely worth the money. Especially if you inherited it from your grandfather 😊🙏
I'll buy it from you if you don't want it
Me too. It is a great reminder of an awesome grandfather
Amazing , I’ve got one at home that was gifted to me by my grandfather, love the watch.

This is my first antique watch. I purchased a seamaster de ville 1969 550. Gonna pass it down to my son
Nice! Your son will love it as you do!!

Beautiful shot at 4:35 34mm to 36/37mm is such a great size for watches. Depending on the lugs though! Great video as always!
Much thanks mate! Also one of my fave shots here🕺
@OP
Remember that the L-sound is pronounced in "Ville" since it is an exception to the rule that a double L is silent in French. :)
What a beauty! Most amazing Omega watch i ever seen 😮
Thanks!! It really is
This is simply my favorite type of watch, all gold and with a Milanese look bracelet! Just an ideal, although I may be biased 😊
Seamaster, of the city. So simple! So in a way, the grandfather of the Aqua Terra.
Exactly!!
Beautiful videography and very informative. Oh and the watch is stunning too! Keep these videos coming!
Thanks a million! We will!! 🙏

YAS my favorite seamaster model
It’s a beaut!!
@@GoldammerVintageWatches or is beauty? Fix it if it is wrong. 👍.
Beautiful watch! is the bracelet removable on a piece like this?
No it’s intergrated into the case
So after the launch in 1967 of the deville, did they also keep making the seamaster deville?
It’s tricky indeed, read all details in our matching article: goldammer.me/blogs/articles/deville-omega-history
Yes they kept on producing them for the American market.

Yeah it’s just a different reference don’t worry 😉

Also, does this model no. engraved at the case inside bottom?
Unfortunately no idea…
@@GoldammerVintageWatches ok!
165.020 is an automatic, no-date watch and 166.020 is an automatic, date watch.

May i consider Seamaster' as a diver's watch or a dress?
Seamster = diver / Seamster de ville = dress
I own that watch in yellow gold and rose gold plus one in steel
One for each mood!!

Too much yellow to my fine taste. Everything is in yellow or near yellow. 👎.
I understand what you mean. Full gold is not everyone’s taste
