They both killed it! Jon's recording has a bit better, cleaner sound. After all, Jon is playing what Inferno arranged. And Inferno looks like he's air drumming so, it feels weird. But he's killing it!
Impressive, not the speed but or technicality. What he was playing was very simple. But the creative use of his drumkit was pretty fun to watch. I bet that song is a pain to learn just from the co ordination.
yes he is ;) sounds kind of weird, krisiun drummer use to do it a lot, in the overall band playing it gives the "impression" that double bass is going really fast, even if it's not ^^
Yep, now I finally have my proof that his footwork sucks! His hands are darn fast though. I think one of the only popular drummers, who really masters a really fast and proper double-bassdrumming, is George Kollias.
well during the intro on the song he plays straight 240bpm 16th but during the bomb blast he plays 8th triplet like on the album, it would have been more brutal with 16th notes but i am sure that in front the stage the audience is thinking he is playing 16th notes ;) mixed with guitars/bass/vocals kind of tricky bomb blast but he plays it well, try to play this kind of bomb blast it' s not so easy to master especially the coordination hands/feet
I was about to say the same, if the effect of playing 16th over triplets is intended that's not necessarily a bad thing, takes less speed but more coordination, so I wouldn't rate that negatively. I'm sure he could also pull off 32th notes (or 16th, depends on how you view it).
unleashed90 I don't think so, because I'm currently working on exactly this problem (I think it's a problem, because I think it sounds horrible). My hands can play up to 240bpm, but my feet stagger around 210 - 220. So the result is triplets bass-drumming over 16th blast-beat. For me it's something that my body does automatically to synch hands and feet, rather than a plus in coordination. I think that Infernos' footwork is not the best and you can see this when you compare him to drummers like George Kollias and Derek Roddy. You'll also notice that Inferno is also completely relying on his trigger, which is not necessarily bad, but for me it's a lack in endurance and control.
I used to think it was lame when a RUclips channel would disable comments. After taking the time to read a lot of comments that get posted on videos, I think I get it. There's an exhausting amount shit and negativity. I still don't think I would disable comments on my own channel (not that anyone watches it), but I understand why others would.
Sick drumming. I like how those china cymbals sound but man, those crashes barely sound. I really dont like them. It would be great if he changed to Paiste Signature crashes.
The kit shouldn't sound how you want it to sound sitting directly behind it while you're playing it. It's more about the sound projection of the kit with the percussion out into the crowd.
i dont think that if i were to drum professionally that i would use triggers. the reason being that if i were to mess up with certain patterns, it would be a lot harder to detect because the bass drums aren't singled out. (also they're bass drums not kick drums, you can fight me on that. the only people who call them kicks are guitarists and people raised by guitarists. or, i guess if that's all you've ever heard them called.)
It's actually the opposite. Triggers point out your flaws and mistakes out much better. There's a reason why metal drummers use them, when you hear sloppy feet during a show, it's crystal clear it's sloppy. There's tons of videos explaining this.
+Sebastian techchannel You must have no idea about the drumming to make such pretentious statement. He plays with 5B sticks, just look at him he is like 6'6" tall. 5B stick plus his arm thats a lot of weight, so he doesn`t have to dig the cymbals hard. They play themselves...
I've been playing since I was 6, I just feel like when I play and when others play they have much more enthusiasm, I understand what he's doing is just to conserve energy but he seems like he's not really enjoying or getting into the song.
+Sebastian techchannel I agree. Krimh (played in Decapitated for a while) played a few dates with behemoth, and imho made this band sound a little bit more energetic. Too bad he (in my opinion - keep that in mind) cant write as interesting parts as inferno.
+Sebastian techchannel Hitting drums requires only a certain amount of power behind each stroke to make them resonate properly, especially when the drums are mic'ed up. Beyond that certain point, you're just choking the drums instead of allowing them to resonate, as well as causing more wrist strain and tiring yourself out. Inferno is a guy who is very comfortable with his instrument and knows exactly what he can get out of his kit, and how to get it. His playing is spot on across the board. I find that drummers who hit hard tend to have a sloppy style, and barely manage to keep up with the music (see the current drummer for Decapitated - messy, ugly style that seems like he could lose the song at any moment), whereas Inferno is totally on top of his playing, knowing exactly where he's going in the seconds to come. He's a very relaxed and comfortable drummer who knows his instrument and song structure to the fullest extent. Anyone saying he doesn't hit hard enough either doesn't understand drumming, or is one of those players who have no refinement and just bash away.
Let's say i used to 'worship' that guy.. you rarely found some relevant drum footage of Inferno but this disappointed me a little. Very sloppy and inaccurate feet imo
Assuming he was drumming facing north and the concert took place in Poland, his hit-hat was in Germany at least
Alessandro Murtas l..
Space for the toms...
underrated comment
Those 16th snare hits over the triplet bass.. maaan...
This drummer never disapoints

Jon also made a bunch of mistakes. He’s a good drummer, but he’s not that good.
Impressive, not the speed but or technicality. What he was playing was very simple. But the creative use of his drumkit was pretty fun to watch. I bet that song is a pain to learn just from the co ordination.
Exactly
best video on youtube.
Thanks!!!
godly drums, but can we talk about the phenomenal lighting?
More like ungodly druma
@@gromitxd2227 no no no not god, godly
Inferno is the best!
Infernus jest jak zegar atomowy! Inferno is like na atomic clock, so precise, so perfect!
at 2:34 and so forth, is he playing 16th note blast beats on the snare over triplets/sextuplets on the bass drum?
yes he is ;) sounds kind of weird, krisiun drummer use to do it a lot, in the overall band playing it gives the "impression" that double bass is going really fast, even if it's not ^^

Fucking awesome!
Hammer.GREAT BAND !!
"I need your clothes, your boots, and your drum sticks."
Looks like hes not even trying, and yet anyone else I see playing this be sweating thier ass off lol. Bow down to the king.

Fantástico baterista! Sou fã.
I was there!

rphxleonine by the looks of it there are several guys here who think they're better drummers than Inferno.
I have said this before, and i'll say it again.. Inferno is this generation's Pete Sandoval
behemoth eres la mejor banda no solo del mundo si no del universo
Esse batera e magico
MIRACLE AMAZING
When people ask why: that’s the reason he is called Inferno

Elias Pereyra he’s also not giving it enough beans. Had some RUDE’s once and you had to really lay into them to make them sing properly
maybe if he angled them better or didn't pat them like he was telling them that they're a good dog
😍😍😍
needs more double bass
How I show my mom that I want to be a bird : 0:08 - 0:10
xDDDDDDDD
So effortless....He almost looks bored.....Damn. 😂😂Such a badass.
Behemoth rule!!!!
imma simple guy. i see behe.. and click
Krakow
The Paiste Rude Wild cymbals make so little sound compared to his chinas. He should change to the Rude crash/ride cymbals, imo
I've never been so scared watching a drummer play xD

In the studio, we label them "kick" on the soundboard, same in ProTools.
It's actually the opposite. Triggers point out your flaws and mistakes out much better. There's a reason why metal drummers use them, when you hear sloppy feet during a show, it's crystal clear it's sloppy. There's tons of videos explaining this.
WoW ;O
2:31 meu Deus
anyone here know what ride cymbal did he use?
Paiste Rude Eclipse 24"
thank you so much :D
No problem :)
Inferno doesn’t go to Zoom meeting wearing slippers! He wears boots!
don't know why in his breaks he cancels the kicks from the scenario...
Honestly jon rice plays this song better than inferno like I feel like jon played faster on the feet
I agree
Your video thumbnail made me think this is a blood cell or something lol the drums
John Rice played it better when he filled in...the video of him playing is on You Tube...
David Gardner ..
That's right dude , Jon Rice did it better .. he's a beast
Inferno is miles better than Jon.
Push pull techniques on crash cymbals yow
Beatiful sounding Pearl set. But after watching Rice this sounds kinda "sloppy". He has a weird arm movement
The job rice cam was way cooler tbh
Ale by bylo ladniej, szybciej i lepiej, jak by ten hihat stal bliżej.
is ''OV FIRE AND THE VOID''....NO ''OV THE FIRE....''
No, it’s Patrick
Very weird snare angle..
Jon rise tje same. Nível
He's a great drummer but it makes me cringe how he barely hits the cymbals like he's so soft and delicate it just kinda bothers me lol

Please upload a video showing how to do it than
would be better if Nils "Dominator" Fjellström (Dark Funeral) will play this song
Would be nice, but Inferno is a better fit to Behemoth's music. Dominator urges to blast and is a bit too fast for Behemoth.
Márcio Chiabotto tbh a lot of behemoths older stuff is even faster
Im not taking anything away from his talents by saying those triggers sound like absolute dogshit.
Weird.
Jon Rice killed this more
Fkn ridiculous piece to play no doubt.
Let's say i used to 'worship' that guy.. you rarely found some relevant drum footage of Inferno but this disappointed me a little. Very sloppy and inaccurate feet imo
What? He is spot on the entire time!
Lol, how much you are deaf? :D
I like the Jon Rice version better.
made inferno look like he just learned this song haha
phil d damn right..
You make me laugh. Jon rice ain't even in the same league as infernos piss.
Now I understand why he is better than Jon.
Also his shoes are less confortable.
The only thing I dislike about Inferno is that he relys too much on triggers, he barely has any power with his feet
Gabriel Guimond-Mercille that's his style and. Behemoth... It's not power metal lol
jon's better
I'll give him credit for playing in biker boots. His playing is average at best. Plus, he hits like a girl. Shouldn't his drums be black?
