- We are Brian & Jessica, a married couple who started on a life-changing whole food, plant-based weight loss journey back in June 2018. In June 2022, our lives were flipped upside-down when Jessica was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. We continue to share our adventures (highs, lows, struggles & everything in between) in following a plant-based diet while keeping you up-to-date on Jessica's cancer treatment. In October 2023, we welcomed our very first child via gestational carrier.

I felt this when my first was born.
Mom drying her happy tears on Elsie's blanket was just the sweetest. Born on Friday the 13th, and her first movie is "Nightmare Before Christmas". A perfect beginning for a perfect baby.

I wish sometimes as nurses we could just lie to the patient and their love ones that everything will be fine. But after having so much experience it best to say we will try everything we can. It's very sad but it's the reality.

It is scary. After I had my baby, the nurses were called to a code because the mom next door to me was hemorrhaging. It was horrifying listening to her husband outside of the room yelling at someone to help his wife.

I found that my babies were the ones who taught me all about the purest form of unconditional love. That love is unlike any other. My babies are young adults now, and the love I feel for them is still off the charts. Children are an incredible blessing. We teach them, but they teach us as well. Congratulations on your beautiful, perfect little girl. I'm glad your cousin is on the mend. She is a truly amazing woman.

My husband was diagnosed at the same time as you but state four and a rare aggressive cancer. He went into the hospital the day Elsie was born and he passed away on the 17th. I tell you this because I am so happy that you are ok and that this new blessing was born. Cancer robs us of so much and so we celebrate joys. All my best to you!

I was baptised and confirmed at Salisbury cathedral, UK on Saturday evening. Then on Sunday, I had my first communion.
I have been following you two, Brian and Jessica, from the very beginning. I well remember the potatoes you forced yourselves to eat for what seemed like forever. Over all this time, I've never posted a comment, but I've stayed plugged in for all the ups and downs, and it was very hard seeing Jessica go through all that cancer stuff last year. But the arrival of this beautiful and perfect little dream of a baby has prompted me to write. It is a bright and beautiful beginning of the next chapter of your lives, and there won't be words to describe the love you have for this child. But if ever there is a time to savor every minute, this is it! You were blessed to have a sweet, loving cousin volunteer to be your baby "oven." I cannot think of a greater gift that you could ever receive. It was completely magnanimous of Tess, and I salute her. And her husband and kids, as well. There are not enough words in the dictionary to thank her. But now it's done; Tess is recovering; and you two are brand new parents. And I can see right away that you are going to enjoy that baby as much as my husband and I enjoyed our two daughters! There is no joy that compares! So, go forward with love and happiness, and God-speed to the three of you, Brian, Jessica, and Elsie--the Krocks in the Kitchen!

My Mother's name is Elsie. She lived to be 90 years old and was in excellent health her entire life. It's a beautiful name, blessed by the angels... and your Elsie will be blessed as well. Congratulations! Enjoy the early years... make some wonderful memories!
This is my second congratulations after the news of Elsie's arrival in the last video. It truly feels like you can't be congratulated enough!
