- In the fifth episode of this series, I recant on my original stance regarding the extermination of sky rats in favor of subsidizing their presence as a taxi service, have not one, but two island nations dropped on my head, invest in the development of a dragon-powered weedwhacker, and search the seven seas for scaly librarians, costume jewelry, and endangered fireflies in the name of becoming the one true tank.
RLCraft is a modpack made (in)famous by its complete disregard of generally accepted community practices regarding Minecraft's core gameplay, and is often perceived as being both punishingly difficult and highly unfair. The pack re-imagines the difficulty curve of the game, introduces hundreds of new mobs, and completely restructures combat for the single, sole, and only purpose of making you the weakest thing in the game - and then expects you to scrape and claw your way out of that position. Failure is not a question of 'if', but 'when', 'how often' and ' why haven't you given up yet'.
Naturally, I see this as an invitation to beat the game on its hardest difficulty without dying a single time - a goal that is much easier said than done. Failures result in me deleting my current world and creating a new one, losing all of my progress in the process.

The delivery of “I then get started on running around like a lunatic, beating up pixies with a pair of nunchucks strong enough to serve as a nuclear deterrent. I think there may be something wrong with me.” is absolutely KILLING me. Definitely up there with “-for a brief, shining moment, my technological progression requires me to run around like a lunatic, causing myself intense cranial trauma, all while alternating between taking a fat rip and cramming my face with food.”

The first RLCraft playthrough I made it past the first 5 minutes of. It is so wildly refreshing to see a competant player with a sense of humor more nuanced than the lyrical equivalent of a jumpscare who is still scooping cream from the proverbial barrel.
Honestly this is so exactly the niche of the sort of content I wanted to make before task paralysis kicks my ass I might have to give some of it another shot.
When in doubt, just send it. Unironically, I find 90% of my problems stem from a soup of dysfunction that mostly summarizes as having unrealistically high personal standards, and the only cure I have found for that is accepting in advance I am going to do things badly and doing them anyway.

I fear the day where Goose is pushed to their extremes.
Because I have a feeling that you are happy with the existing rules as long as they allow you to get what you need.
But then, suddenly, walls mean nothing because Goose has tried to get in an enough amount of times. Ancient lost knowledge bestowed upon them from champions gone is revealed. Chance means nothing as long as there is a single way to mitigate it and/or Looting 180 is a thing.
Goose's determination and spite are the two things that hold the world together.
Rules are mostly just tools for codifying societally normative behavior. Walls, by extension, are therefore just suggestions and can be disregarded under certain situations.

I really love the slow dropping of professionalism in his voice, especially paired with the extreme measures taken to get just a little bit stronger. If this was a movie, I would say it's an exceptional representation of power going to Goose's head.

There's a terraria mod in here somewhere, as I've heard at least 3 things that come from it: the Bezoar, the Magic Mirror, and the Ankh charm.
Edit: It seems all the parts of the Ankh charm is here - Vitamins and Bezor are enough to say that
Edit 2: Pixies also seem to be here so the mod that adds those very well might be the Terraria mod

RL craft is literally just power creep the fuck out of the mod and become near invincible just to go to the Lost City and hope to not die because the mod devs didn’t balance out the lost city and made everything there hit like a ballistic missile going at Mach 10

Love the nerd energy on digging into the enchants. Many of the enchants are from the So Many Enchants mod which is coded to create broken enchants of one of two varieties. Broken in terms of game balance and broken in terms of coding where it doesn't work as you expect it, although some are broken both ways!
Others have researched and test a 2.9.3 copy paste enchant build that I like to use, which features two double broken combos. The first Ash Destroyer 5 provides double damage if the target is on fire and rightfully conflicts with fire aspect, but conveniently the mod author added Lesser, Advanced, and Supreme Fire Aspect and either one of those can be used with Ash Destroyer to proc double damage no matter if the target is in rain, water, or attacked with ice dragon blood. Ash Destroy is also the most potent damage multiplier SME enchant. The second is Swifter Slashes 5 providing +100% attack speed and +10% iFrame bypass and the seemingly basic Purging Blade 5 providing +40% iFrame bypass due to an oversight, which is hilariously over powered compared to Fiery Edge 2 providing +10% iFrame bypass rate. Swifter Slashes and Fiery Edge were patched to make their bonuses more clear but Purging Blade is still original mod author jank.
This in turn gives use a damage multiplier and attack speed multiplier enabled by high iFrame bypassing rate using non-conflicting enchants from the So Many Enchants mod alone.
And to answer your question about Penetration, that enchant is from Better Survival and also is considered broken. It is obnoxious for damage bonus timings/calculations as Penetration 5 procs after the Sharpness category enchants are calculated, dealing 70% magic damage and the 30% is used to continue calculating other enchants and the Level Up damage bonus. This broken as the magic damage portion can be boosted by the Magic Focus potion effect for +75% magic damage per level but also broken because it can reduce bonuses that multiply the remaining 30% portion (lower bonus), with the additional broken aspect of canceling a sweep/arc slash attack if the magic damage portion is a fatal hit.
Rune: Piercing Capabilities was patched to provide a clear 25% portion per level of ignore vanilla armor damage without bonus timing issues.
Overall, enchants in RLCraft are nerd food and brain rot.

If you ever need to explore again. Especially if it is for a set piece or dungeon a very effective way u found is if you sleep in your bed and then sleep your magic mirror becomes a randomized teleporter until you find a way stone and teleport home

Last I played dragon armor only affects stages 1-4. Stage 5 dragons have a max armor stat by default. I don't remember if dragonsteel armor grants it's elemental defenses to them. Presumably a different version of ice and fire too so it might be different for you.

I have to wonder where dragonsteel lies in the viability of RLCraft equipment. Especially considering just how insanely cool it is to make, I mean, using a dragon’s breath to meld the blood of another into an ingot!
Also want to mention, about the “vanilla blind spot”, there is a very funny way to completely avoid it!
It’s called adding Apotheosis into your pack and watching any method of XP generation not utilizing it get power crept instantly!
