- This is my guide for my 5th Gen Camaro Flex Fuel kit. This covers the full install required, but will not show how to tune the vehicle.
This flex fuel kit will allow you to run 91/93 or E85. You can mix the fuels or run each as stand alone. But for max power gains you will want as pure of a E85 mix as possible.
Note: This kit requires a tune to be able to run E85, do not run E85 without having your car tuned for it.

Hey lethal I ordered one of your kits installed it went to put e85 car started stalling under 3k rpm while giving it throttle I’m not sure what’s going on

@STREET SHARKS BEDFORD POINT Yes I will but the weather has been bad in ontario, canada and I need to wait until spring. I have already installed side skirts, splash guards and louvers.
Sticky tires and good brake pads are very simple and definitely improve the feel of the car. I had a 90hp Civic and those mods made it much better on tight turns.

If you have a cam, yes. But simple bolt one, you should be fine. But it will truly depend on what your builder/tuner requires and wants

straight e85 no, but why not offer the option to have flex fuel? That way your covered just in case you go on a road trip or something.
LethalGarage so you put the 60lbs injectors in and tune that to run E85

Yes there is
What is the difference between the kits? Is there a certain name brand or model that is preferred or will it pretty much give same performance no matter what you go with?
Kits all do the same thing, they read ethonal content and relay that info to your ECU.

Hey Lethal why does your kit come with a fuel hose and the dsx flex fuel kit doesn't? I'm getting ready to order a flex fuel and I noticed the difference in the kits now I'm not sure which one to buy? Or if there is any significant difference. Thanks
DSX has a custom made adapter that is basically a hose. I use a GM fuel line.

If you have a cam? You will 100% need injectors, and a ZL1 low side fuel pump. Manny tuners on the market. Want to see those items without a cam

Talk with your tuner on what they feel comfortable with. Some say your fine, others will want them upgraded.
Did you swap out the fuel pump to a zl1 and if so was the installation just plug and play?
Didn’t have too on this stock vehicle, but some tuners will want the ZL1 pump and injectors. The pumps are plug and play.

As long as you only have bolt-ons yes.

i got my car tuned 3 days ago and asked hin to activated flex fuel( havent installed the kit yet)today i installed it. do i still need my tuner to activate it again or is it ready for e85?
Enabling it and tuning for it are 2 different things. Unless he gave you a canned e85 tune, yes take it back to be tuned.
I installed the kit and my CEL turned on, throwing 2 EVAP codes, is this normal until i get it tuned or did i mess up somewhere?
A CEL is very normal until tuned. The system sees the kit but it’s not turned on. I would, however double verify the evap connection is solid.

No really required on this install, but never hurts
Cus of gas prices, is there a way to tune it down to 87 and still run flex and 93 occasionally?
With these V-8 motors you do not want to run 87 ever
If i want to get this and have a tune for e85 and one for 93, will the car automatically know what gas I have in it, or is there like a special switch to switch between the tunes?
Well you should have a flex fuel sensor and tune so it wouldn’t matter the combination of either fuels will work I’m assuming

I’d get the stock LSA injectors and ZL1 fuel pump.
Wish this existed when I had to do mine. I ended up having issues that could have been solved just by watching this video.

Rear spoiler swap do's and don't's, interior lighting upgrade tutorial (dome light and trunk light), how to properly pin back your handbrake cables (things to do before upgrading to 11" rear wheels), everyone and their mother edits out the useful parts of a cam swap with the engine in the car, stand alone fuel pump install for 5th gen since the rails on the car are not threaded and no one has a clear tutorial on how to do it for Johnny New Guy.
Not saying this all needs to go up tomorrow but you did ask me to pull up the podium and list xD

on the kit you're getting power from evap sensor. On my Camaro I removed the evap purge sensor. is that required to use this kit? Or does it not affect it?
If you don’t have that EVAP power connector, then this kit will not work for you.
@@Lethalgarage my mistake, I have the sensor but I don’t have a purge valve, the sensor is still there just not hooked up to anything. Will the kit work by just hooking the sensors up together ?

How do you get a tune for it? is there an oem GM tune or do you have to go aftermarket?
Have to go to a local speed shop.

Same process but pin slots into connector 1 pin 5 and the evap is on top.
since my car is already tuned for 93.. can I still this kit and still use 93 without getting another tune for now ?
You would need a tune for E85 regardless. But they can keep your 93 tune settings in place.
Is the car still able to run on pump gas without tuning at all? Or does it have to be tuned right away even if you’re not running e85 yet.
You can only run either or after it is tuned. run pump gas until your tuner tunes it for e85
you can get a programmer though and setup multiple maps, but you'll have to reflash it at the pump depending on what gas you get.
How can you be sure you actually found the 40th pinslot ???
It will show the sensor in the ECU once it’s activated

A ‘tuner’ doesn’t add the ability to read ethanol content levels. The kit is what adds that. The tune your tuner writes allows the vehicle to change the fuel tables based on that sensors reading. So yeah, kit is required.
@LethalGarage thank you for help I didn’t know if you could do it through the tuner because a listing of the Bully Dog platinum GT gas tuner it has in the description as you can run E 85 in the Car So I didn’t know
If installed can I run e85 and 93 or just e85. I asked because only one gas station sales e85 where I live.

That is what Flex Fuel is. This kit allows you to run 91/93 and E85 after the proper tune.

I recently bought this kit, can I install the kit an still run 91 until I get my e85 tune or do I have to get the car tuned on 91 because of the kit instalation? Please help
that is what flex fuel is. You can still run 91 fuel and drive your car like normal until you get it tuned for E85.

If your tuner sets it up right, yes. That is what flex fuel is… the ability to run one or the other or even mixed.

No one offers a flex fuel kit for the V6. You would have to switch to e85 only.

Much difference for the zl1 5 gen
Typically a car with a blower will pick up 2x power. But a ZL1 will need fuel system upgrades.
You guys dont have one for a c7 z06?
I have a C7 setup that will work, but you will need a lot more upgrades to make it work properly to gain power. Fuel system is tapped from factory.
What is the difference between the fuel line that the car comes with than with the one you guys have on the kit? Reason I asked is I got a flex fuel kit for mine but it didn’t come with a fuel line wondering if I can use the regular fuel line the car has?
They are both Teflon coated lines. Some kits skip the line and do a direct connect

How much should I expect to pay for a e85 tune?
I’ve seen $350-$700 depends on year of vehicle and how good the shop/tuner is.
Hello gr8 video i just got you're kit in yesterday and installed it on my 2012 camaro ss and got it tune today how can i tell if it was tune properly? I put half a tank of e85 and drove it it felt like my car kinda stall at high rev i have no check engine light so im just curious

It will depend on the tune. But average for a 5th Gen is 12-15rwhp if they are stock.

So you don't need to upgrade injectors or fuel pump?
Not if you have a good tuner. But if you have other supporting mods, yes injectors and a pump are a good thing to add to the list.

will this work on a 2020 ZL1
I have a specific ZL1 Kit. But to run full E85 on a new ZL1 you will need a cam and a AUX low side fuel pump
threw this kit on my 2010 ls3, also have bolts on and stage 4 BTR cam. Do I need bigger injectors or am I good with just a good tune?

LethalGarage I have a BTR stage 4 cam with kit of course, and cold air intake, and speed engineering long tube headers no cats, with the npp exhaust! She made 493 whp on pump 91
You will need a ZL1 fuel pump and injectors if your cammed.
