my wife and I fell in love with casement windows. so much air. no obstructions to our view. the only place we don't install them is where they are blocked by objects outside our house like trees
The casement will seal tighter, the double hung window is convenient because with obscure glass, you can pull down the top sash for ventilation and maintain privacy. Either will work fine, just depends on how you want to use the window primarily. I hope this helps.

Casement, since theres an actual seal rather than just bristles.
Casement are the easiest to operate and best sealing. Hands down.
Those crank handles are high maintenance.
double hung is BEST!
