Awesome video! About time I saw a comprehensive (working) mod for the (overpriced & undergamed) countercades. Well done dude!
Buddy, you have the best Rep...I'm just starting into all this with my son, and I am very thankful for all the Excellent information I have found in these clips, Thank you for taking the time to make them.
You know, Ive got 4 boxes, and I am so worried about workin on them, and then I come back to your clips, I see Hundreds of wonderful comments on FB and on here about you, and Im more willing to make a go of it. The thing thats holding me back is, I want to mod a box, and you have kits, but I want to add things like light up buttons, and a mod to make the existing power switch to keep working, so those light up buttons dont stay lit all the time, just lil things to make it work and be simple, and I dont know how I am to order that from you. Can I get a custom order like that with you? I'd really love to go for it on my space invaders, but I just dont know how to make that kind of order with you, and I am a newbie, so the first will be rough, but all the others would be alot easier I think, with your clips.
Shane rules! I got my Pacman countercade control panel and two of the 3/4 machine CPs and parts from him. Awesome quality!
I didn't see any comment on how to turn the volume up or down?
Can I get a list of the games? tks.
Have you got a kit for the Arcade 1 UP Partycade machines that hang on the wall? I just ordered the Pacman 8 in 1 model and would like to do this upgrade when possible.
If its vertical then the 60 in 1 counter cade kit should work but the top speaker panel will not interchange. May be best to buy in pieces
Nice video 👌
What happens if you don’t add a new speaker?
Do you sell the entire kit? Great video!
I have the Ms Pac-Man countercade I'm looking to upgrade, but I'm not tech savvy whatsoever and can see myself ruining the machine. . My 7 yr old daughter got this machine from her grandad for Christmas, but she's over only playing Galaga and Ms Pac-Man. I'd also like more games, but I really don't want to crash or ruin the machine.
Hello, I am someone who just upgraded such a countercade. I did this to make the break room at work a little more awesome. It felt complicated for me to do most of the DIY (especially with its smaller size), but in the end I was able to squeeze in a 60-in-1 board using a right-angle VGA connector and a "countercade v2" lcd driver from Geeksales. I first followed the instructions for the driver, then I started on the 60-in-1 installation, and at some point in between I started asking Geeksales for advice.
BTW Gun Smoke has 3 fire buttons but you can go into the game's settings and change it to 1.
I have Ms Pac Man, Pac Man, Frogger, Dig Dug, Space Invaders, Galaga, and Centipede in the 1 up arcade countercade..I’m going to get the Pac-Man 40th anniversary edition also but can anyone tell me if it’s any new cabinets that came out in 2021 that’s not on this list? Countercade only !! I like this size please let me know.. I like the Generation one size better.. Where do I order the stuff to modify my my game?
That’s a nice collection of games. DK, DKjr, and Defender would make it complete.
I saw it has a molex connector for power on the site. I ordered the board, and a molex wall plug power supply. It will run this way, correct?
will work to power the board as long as the power supply has the 5v connection.
I have the new COUNTERCADE with the 17 inch screen. Do you have a custom control panel for that one
we have not gotten one here yet to do the cut files for it. Not enough time in the day :)
You mean a partycade?
Question I just installed this into my unit, is there a way to save the high score on the games after powering the unit down. Thanks
There’s a DIP switch you need to set.
Hi, just got my jamma kit. I'm a noob, haven't installed one of these before although I've done basic stuff like connecting a Raspberry Pi running MAME to an HDMI monitor etc.
I'm having a little trouble understanding the screen hookup. It looks like there's some board to the center-right that's hooked into the monitor. I don't see that board in my kit. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.
If you are using the A1U lcd then you will need a LCD driver for it: www.diyretroarcade.com/products/arcade1up-countercade-vga-lcd-driver-for-8-inch-factory-monitor
So this isn't included in the kit you sell?

Any chance to contact you directly for a question about the settings?
we have chat on the website M-F 9am to 5pm
The kit included the wooden board? Everything ?
does not include the panel
How can I buy the panel?
hi, before i order, in video you state it CAN BE used in the smaller 8" LCD galaga, Gen.2, i plan to get the lcd driver for 8" with the kit....please confirm this is correct...before i order. Thank you in advance!!!
This is for the GEN! galaga not the Gen2. We are making a new kit for the Gen2. Should be done by the weekend with a new video up. FYI we will NOT have a lcd driver for the Gen2
@@diyretroarcade hi, thanks for your reply, LMK when its ready for order..
@@diyretroarcade What does it mean to not have an LCD driver? I just want to keep the existing monitor for my Gen2. Thanks
@@jrb531 it has not vga/hdmi input from factory. if you want to use a pi or 60 in 1 ect with the facotry lcd you have to have a lcd driver
@@diyretroarcade So no kit for the Gen2 machines will be forthcoming is how I interpret it unless you want to replace the 8" monitor with one with a standard VGA input? Just curious if there is a technical reason that prevents this? I saw with the Gen1 you offer a conversion adapter. Sorry but I'm just a bit disappointed as I was all set to convert this puppy until I read this. Is there a cheap 8" monitor that will fit in the Gen2 that can use your upcoming Gen2 conversion Kit? Thanks
Are you making one for the partycade edition?
this kit will work but the top speaker panel will not fit. We will be getting in a partycade soon i hope to test on!
@@diyretroarcade OK. I just need to get a deck that will have room for the track ball too. Thx
Wish game list was better
Does the PCB LEDs light up when power is applied?
yes
@@diyretroarcade ok, the problem I'm having is the PCB LEDs don't light and the controller board LED remains red, even after cycling power. It goes green for a few seconds then back to red. I get "NO SIGNAL" on my vid screen. Could PCB be bad or is it a power issue?
