Thanks for watching Part 1 of 2 for my Arcade1up Galaga Countercade Machine. Part 2 should be in a couple days after some missing parts I need arrive tomorrow.
Great Video Pdubs! I'm a flan of the show. Though this is not usually what our channel posts I've been working on a Cadash Countercade here! ruclips.net/video/ORKzONr4GM4/видео.html
I'm glad I found this video. It saved me a lot of time and heartache with the lcd board, since I didn't know that the one I had ordered wasn't the right one. The one from this store came in 3 days, while the other is still shipping from ... wherever.
I love how people always say "this cabinet was cheap so I don't want to spend too much modding it". If you paid less for the cabinet, doesn't that give you more room to spend on modding? Haha, great project though!
Yep, I don’t get it either... that stock screen is absolutely atrocious. And upgrading it to a way better IPS screen is not like it’s going to break the bank (i.e. less than $30 bucks on aliexpress)...
49$!! Where did you find that!! I paid 199$ for Miss Pacman 5 in 1, but it came with 199$ back top use in the store. I needed a couple expensive items so it worked out great. These seem to be 150$, on average; I didn't get screwed too bad. Great video, thanks!
Ryan if you are in southern Ontario I highly recommend the Shippsy service. They are a Niagara Falls, NY reshipper who will import your parcels for you and then you can go pick them up at either their Mississauga or Vaughan Ontario warehouse locations. They are able to do this by creating a Niagara Falls, NY delivery address for you. I have used them for close to a year and among other things I have been able to get three countercades, two atgames gamer pros and one game mini just from Walmart alone. It’s also the way I was able to put in an order for a Tetris mini during NOD. Go check Shippsy out. It may be worth your while. Further... just as an FYI my delivered cost for the TETRIS MINI ((NOD Deal)) is going to be $555.63 and that is in CANADIAN $ !! That includes the exchange, broker fee, TAXES (cuz yeah, you still have to pay HST) as well as a additional charge for weight. Personal imports via Shippsy are capped at 50lbs with no extra fee, but they add an additional .50cents fee per pound between 50lbs and the maximum allowed 100lbs.
That's a very cool service! I live in BC, but I would love to see a service like that out here. Hopefully they expand in the future, but a great idea to look out for similar services here out west. If you know of, or can recommend, similar services for western Canada, please share! Thanks for your help 👍
@@ryanstroud No problem. There is definitely a similar outfit out west that services the Washington border Vancouver area. I remember seeing a bunch of firms when I was originally doing my Google search more than a year ago for this kind of stuff. I just don’t recall what the name of that one was and can’t really offer any input as to whether they’re reliable or not but I hope that helps anyway... EDIT: Shippsy dot com is a branch of another company that used to only do Commercial importing. They were set up 1 year ago to service regular consumer clients. The parent company is STALLION EXPRESS which will probably be a familiar name for anyone who has has worked with Commercial shippers.
For the marquee which one did you get for the Galaga want to buy one from him but don’t know which one to order for the same countercade you got..I put a 60 in one in mine
When using the Geekstore LCD Board does it use the physical volume slider on the original arcade 1up deck or is the only way to adjust the volume from the settings of the pi image?
So if I’m understanding correctly, both the board and the pi need separate power running to them, correct? Does the board need user input to tell the monitor to turn off or does it do that automatically when it stops receiving an HDMI signal?
I have the scoony 64gb image on my cab, the nes and genesis emulator resolution is all wrong, it's like 1/4 of the screen and just one corner showing. Any way to fix this? I've tried with no luck

What the total for the entire build not including the $49 for cabinet.

Happy to help brother!
Absolutely biblical. Seeing gunbird on that vertical screen brought a tear to my eye.
Lol thanks buddy
Came here from the a1up discord. Thanks for the content!
Most welcome and much appreciated
11:04 I love how the audio volume test music is an 8-bit rendition of Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz lol.
Lol nice catch!
Looks like a cool little project! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the awesome comment!

Yes but the goal here is to do this cheaply less than $200

It was on clearance a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away
Good stuff PDubs.
Hey thanks Dillon!
Great vid, PDubs! I can't believe those countercades are still $200 in Canada... totally overpriced here. 🤦🏼♂️
Yeah that's too much money for these Itty bitty things!

Awesome! I'll see what I can find because these US arcade deals are just killing me, lol!

I'll have to open it and check it'll be on Part 2
Any problems with the counter add slipping while you play? The light up will make for the cherry on top!
Have you done any mods with Le Potato? Raspberry pi out of stock almost everywhere or price jacked up…so I bought a potato…any insights for me?
When using the Geekstore LCD Board does it use the physical volume slider on the original arcade 1up deck or is the only way to adjust the volume from the settings of the pi image?
Use the volume settings in the Pi image this was shown in this video and also the part 2 video
What lcd board did you use? Do all of them allow you to use original speakers?
Link in the video description. That one does allow you to use stock speaker
Thanks man! Really appreciate it....keep up the great work! Should have checked that first...lol.
So if I’m understanding correctly, both the board and the pi need separate power running to them, correct? Does the board need user input to tell the monitor to turn off or does it do that automatically when it stops receiving an HDMI signal?
Hello just a question i cannot find the lcd driver voard anywhere are there any alternatives for this
Not that I know of
There’s a better version just for countercade 👌😉
Link please? Cheers ....
Do you have to replace stock stick since it's just left and right?
Yes new control deck and stick.
I have the scoony 64gb image on my cab, the nes and genesis emulator resolution is all wrong, it's like 1/4 of the screen and just one corner showing. Any way to fix this? I've tried with no luck
Never mind, looks like I was using the wrong Scoony image. Working great now
ugh of course to find the board now is impossible! dammit lol
