    Very helpful. Tommy Victor/Prong. Excellent taste in music. Folks, for all of you asking what distortion/setup he uses, he has been so kind as to build an entire website and links to everything is in the description of the video.

    The good thing here is that you opened up a finger for me. Making the whole power chord with the 1st and 2nd is very cool. Leaves opportunities. Thanks!

    Riff is very similar to the one partway through On A Plain by Nirvana. "Somewhere I have heard this before, in some dream my memory has stored. As defense I'm neutered and spayed. What the hell am I trying to say?". That part.

    Nice groove. You should do a backing track that is 2-3 minutes long alternating the one at the beginning (straight power chords) and the one with the 9th chords at 7:00 for people to jam over.

    the things you mention @ 3:30 are exemplaric for why i like your channel. you teach little things like conflicts between certain notes in relation to the strings that they're played on. you don't get that in yer average guitar teaching channel..maybe with marty schwartz. anyway it's these sort of ideas that are valuable to creating your own music

    Third or fourth video of yours I've watched (now subbed); my rhythm playing has improved a bit.
    However I'm still one of those annoying hyper-active shred guys, lol
    Played rhythm before in a few bands; and I can say in nearly any case your pinky is generally your best friend and sadly an often forgotten tool.....

    You're saying F on fret 1, but it sounds like D#. I know you don't like people pestering you with WhAt TuNiNg ArE YoU iN??? But my ears say this is D Standard. So are you supposed to say the Note letter as what it would be in Standard tuning? Or the tuning you're at?

    • @CoreyHunter
      @CoreyHunter  8 лет назад +3

      +Garth S I refer to the notes as if I were in standard tuning at all times so as to provide a 'standard' across all tunings and avoid unnecessary confusion. The point to naming notes is only to identify their location on the fretboard.
