I did not mention the tight fit of the Tom Ford suits in my Skyfall review. Why? Well the controversy is 12 years old and was covered infinitely back then. And I certainly don't have anything new to add. Also I'd rather focus on the positive aspects of the suits in my review. But yes indeed the fit is tight and I would not recommend anyone to wear suits that way. If you want to know why, it's quite interesting. Since the days of Sean Connery, the suits have been considered James Bond’s armour. In the character arc of Daniel Craig's Bond over his series of movies they decided he had become so comfortable in himself that his suits were now more like his second skin than a suit of armour. Hence the decision to make the tight fitting suits. I think that's taking the metaphor a little too far but at least there wasn't thinking behind it and not just a bad fit.
I think the metaphor idea is alright but I'd think that after years of wearing suits he'd know that skintight is not comfortable at all. And Tom Ford certainly knows as much. I think they could have gone for a different approach but I am pretty sure that the designer took this as an excuse to put his own spin on Bond's suits. I would have loved to see him in a style similar to Huntsman's with the very strict look but without the overall tightness.
I bought a navy blue Ralph Lauren peacoat because of Skyfall and find it both stylish and versatile. It’s very comfortable and due to 100% wool, can be warm for our Canadian weather
Really nice video, it is always nice to delve deep into the style of Britain's most famous secret agent. Bond wears a dinner jacket without a bowtie in Moonraker as well.
Both TV shows are good, but I personally would like you to finish off the rest of the Craig era, also I’m surprised you didn’t talk about the trend of skinny (and sometimes short) suits in the DC era of bond starting with this movie. But still a good video!
Yes, the skinny suits were extremely controversial at the time. But I felt as this controversy was so long ago and covered by many I would focus elsewhere. And I'll be finishing off the Craig Bond movies fairly quickly.
Grey suit is beautiful.i have two grey suit one in charcoal one in lighter shade.and one grey tweed sport coat😂.i guess i have obsession over grey color😂
While Barbour may seem pricey, in fact it is a great price for a foul weather jacket that will last a lifetime. I bought mine in 1994, have worn it in miserable weather in the US and the U.K. and have only had it re-waxed once. No a single frayed edge, fouled zipper or wet clothes (or wet me) underneath. At that price, I reckon it has been well worth the investment!
I thought about it but it is a subject that has already been covered so well I felt I would be a bit late to the party. And I'd rather focus on the positive aspects.
Thank for asking. I got it from my local tailor. It's a Neapolitan style cut with soft shoulders so looks very relaxed and is very comfortable. But the fabric you can get from any tailor. It is a grey flannel chalk stripe from Vitale Barberis Canonico commonly known as VBC. Quite affordable fabrics from Italy.
Not sure why there was the comment of "despite the lack of the royal seal" with Barbour. Barbour jackets have held royal warrants for all of recent history and currently hold the warrant of King Charles. Mine from a couple of years ago still has Queen Elizabeth and Charles as the Prince of Wales.
@@Macca-95 I mean the brand does not display the royal seal graphic anywhere on their website or literature unlike many other brands in the UK. Not a slight on Barbour at all. Just wondering why they haven’t been given one or they choose not to display it.
@@ForTheLoveOfSuits made in China garments + in some of their shops the attitude is too snobbish and pretentious. The whole experience feels like a circus, it is nothing more than a Zara for Italian style garments.

it's nice to see you appearing in your videos again.
Thanks. I'm getting a little more comfortable in front of the camera.
I don't think grey suits are boring at all. I have three different grey suits.
I agree. Grey suits are very flexible and striking.
Agreed! Grey suits are my favourite. They come in so many different shades and patterns, and they work with everything.
Totally agree. I think the navy suite is over rated. Perfect as a first suit, but grey is solid for a more experienced suit wearer.
Tom Cruis in Collateral looked also great in his grey suit
@@Mentis-de Oh yes, now I remember it. That was a great suit.
A video on Saul Goodman's suits would be a good laugh.
That would be an interesting twist.

Thanks for the comment. I haven't seen Moonraker in so many years. I knew there had to be at least one other.
Suits (TV show) for the fun of it. Hannibal (TV show) for the amazing outfits.
this one
5:22 I almost had a heart attack - $26, 206

Both please. Both shows are icons
First of all: get a suit that isn't as tight fitting!
we need to see the analysis of Hannibal's suits sir
We do indeed. It's on my list and I'm looking forward to reviewing it.

Excellent. I agree. Spend wisely on good quality that will last.
Great and informative video!
Thank you.
Hannibal please 😮
Roger Moore wore DJ open necked in TSWLM and Moonraker
bit surprised you haven’t mentioned how badly fitting they are, being cut overly tight.

I can you please do a video on mad men of style of the show
Suggestion for future video: lust/caution (chinese movie)
Wow. know it. I saw it a long time ago so can't remember the clothing. I'l check it out. That would be different. Thanks.
That first suit you wore, stitching was a bit rough where the sleve meets the upper breast🤔🤔🤔

@@arcabuzZara with alright construction though. For entry level suits that are actually worth their money it's a fine product.
