    Wow Erin! This is so helpful!!! I can't do the trail this year but I will definitely be using this resource (or hopefully an updated version of this resource) when I have time to take off of work to do this. Thanks for this awesome free resource!

    This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you! Quick question, what happens if I want to enter a lottery for horseshoe meadows within 6 months? For example, can I apply today (Feb 17) for a July 30 starting date or is it too late because I missed the exact 6-month mark a few weeks ago?

      Glad it’s been helpful! You are right, for Inyo national forest permits, it is exactly six months, not a lottery. So 60% of July 30 permits opened on January 30. You can keep an eye out for cancellations, and the remaining 40% of permits will become available exactly two weeks in advance at 7amPST, so that would be July 16.

    Based on advice from another website, I applied for Glacier Lakes as an alternate, but now I'm wondering if that would actually give me access to the trail. Do you have any advice on this?

      Hi! I'm not seeing Glacier Lakes as a trailhead options, but did you mean Glacier Point? In that case, both Glacier Point Trailheads (Glacier Point->Little Yosemite Valley & Glacier Point->Illilouette) specify "Hiking over Donohue Pass and hiking the JMT is NOT available for this trailhead"
      The only two trailheads that are Donahue Pass eligible are Happy Isles->Past LYV (Donohue Pass Eligible) and Lyell Canyon (Donohue Pass Eligible).
      There's definitely a lot of outdated or incorrect info out there that can cause confusion. Hope this clears things up!

      You can find the details for each trailhead by clicking on them from the list on Recreation.gov, they are linked

      @@onestoptrailshop9470 thank you. Yes, Glacier Point. Frustrating to find inaccurate info out there, but I'll keep trying for one of the legitimate trailheads.

    When are unclaimed permits released?

    • @onestoptrailshop9470
      @onestoptrailshop9470  Год назад +1

      Hey, Jared!
      Unclaimed permits for the Yosemite Lottery are released on the following Friday at 9am PST. For example: There is a lottery that runs Jan 8-14, any unclaimed permits for that period will be released Friday January 20. (& tomorrow there will be unclaimed permits released for the lottery that ran last week)
      Unclaimed permits for the Mt. Whitney lottery will be released on Saturday April 22 at 7am PST
      Hope that helps!
