My husband and I live in Alabama. We were brought up working a garden and I was helping my Momma with the canning and putting up cream corn since I was a little girl. We absolutely love to watch your channel! I have made my own jams, jellies and preserves for years. It amazes me how the art of canning is dying out. Thanks for your channel! It’s much needed. BTW, Ya’ll grow some of the biggest sweet potatoes I’ve ever seen!!! 😂😂😂
Our family loves party mix. I have never added the Italian herbs before but will try it. I add cherrios to mine, call it nuts and bolts. I have a large family and need to make lots! Love watching you two on your farm and in the kitchen. At 79, I still learn. Y’all remind me of us in years gone by. It’s rare to find young folks of y’all’s age living the life the way y’all do 💕
Party mix is like fudge, ribbon candy & other "holiday" foods, you never think to make it until the holidays come around & that keeps it a special treat. As adults if we want something many of us can just go get it or make it. If you make everything all of the time it's not a special holiday treat anymore when the holidays finally get here.
I actually like sweet potato pie better than pumpkin pie ❤ If you sprinkle everything begal seasoning on that bread after your egg wash..It makes a great garlic bread with spaghetti 🍝
I absolutely love sweet potato pie and a trick an old timer told me was instead of white sugar use light brown sugar it gives it a richer flavor. 😊 Just a suggestion, and yes, it is SO good.

I’d take sweet potato pie over pumpkin pie any day. I love how when you make your pie you mix it by hand instead of using a mixer,I prefer old school anytime.the bread and spaghetti looked delicious also.thanks for sharing
We make ours in large garbage bag with oil and ranch season and shake it up then put it in the oven. ( WE CALL IT GARBAGECHEX MIX) It makes great Christmas gifts as well as all the kinds of Christmas candies you can make. Nothing better. ( great to give to church family and neighbors)
I made the French bread this afternoon! It turned out fantastic! My 93 year old mother lives next door and I took her some. She said it was really good. I have been trying out some of your other recipes and sharing with her. She said she does Ike when I try out new things. Thanks again.

Love the recipes ! My daughter made a sweet potato pie and put a meringue top on it. It was delicious too. I make a baked chicken spaghetti casserole that's really good. My dad was kind of a picky eatercwhen it came to certain foods but he loved the chicken spaghetti ❤
When I make baked spaghetti, I mix an egg 2 T butter, and some “green can” Parmesan cheese in with the hot spaghetti, to bind them together to make a crust as they bake. It’s a family favorite!

You cook like I do and I really enjoy watching you and your family, it's like visiting family and friends ❤ my family's favorite is sweet potato pie.
I love your thoughts on making bread. For me, I have learned that it’s best to stick one recipe. There is a bread recipe in one of my cookbooks that never fails to turn out well for me. All the other bread recipes that I have tried just never seem to get right.

Great video Meagan. That Chex mix reminded me of Mama. She used to make it every Christmas. The spaghetti and bread looks fantastic and that sweet potato pie is out of sight. Grandma used to make sweet potato pies and cobblers. The cobblers were as good as the pies.
you can really get your frustrations out kneading bread. when i was growing up store bought bread was a rare treat, usually when my uncle showed up.. (he worked for wonder bread )

Great video Meagan! We love some good Chex mix! I guess since it can be a little costly to make, we only make it this time of year, but it's always a good snack to munch on. That French Bread loaf looked amazing! We can't believe this was your first time making sweet potato pie. You did a great job! Everything looked wonderful! So funny we only make chex party mix over the holidays too, in fact seeing you make it reminded me i can start making it again 😂 funny thing is, is i make it so much from thanksgiving, Christmas and new Year's, that I eat myself full of it until the following year 😂 so good! We make ours a little different, we like using seasoning salt instead of plain salt, and we don't use Italian seasoning. Something else I do is sometimes the cheesy crackers get too dark tasting for my liking so i cook everything without the cheese snacks or Doritos and just add them when i take them out of the oven and toss them with everything so it still gets some of the flavor, but doesn't get too dark in the oven.
