Nicely done!!! An ingenious solution as to air flow and security. I had a solid wood door installed on my master bedroom. I also put in a steel door frame plate and a dead bolt(keyed outside/ lever inside). This will be a great adjunct to my set up!!!
You didn't mention how you aligned the two holes - I assume you traced the porthole when you had a dry fit? That would be cool with either a 1-way mirror or etch the glass with acid so it's frosted except for a 1/4" patch in the middle so you can see out if needed.
Great idea, our place is decorated with maritime antiques but I never considered creating a functional porthole. I'm going to be hunting one to put in my front door which is solid white oak but has no peeky hole. 😁
Nice video, good idea. My bedroom door just has a register type vent near the bottom of it. That way there is no way of seeing inside my room and there is good air flow
Hello, Can't seem to find this exact unit on ebay. I need the "thru screw type tunnel" feature with an exterior flange to use in exterior wall of our soon to be built boat dock and I do not currently know what wall thickness will be. Can you please provide any ebay link for same type as shown in your video? Thanks.
Seems to me you wouldn't want someone that's trying to get to you to see where you are running to to get your gun. I don't get it. But I do like the look and all. Just has nothing to do with being more secure or safe from an intruder. They can see you now. Shhh they are asleep...tip toe by. LoL
What the hell are you talking about? This video has nothing to do with running from an intruder. You smart guys and contrarians are all alike. You'll come up with any thing you can on any video to try to outsmart the presenter like little boys who's fathers always told them they were wrong and dumb. This is about ventilating a very dark room at night which no one can see into.
The opening goes inside the bedroom, where you can open and close it for ventilation control. The pretty side goes inside, like on a ship.
So much for privacy!
From whom? We live alone and don't have strangers roaming our home when we sleep.
Great, an open view to the true Banshee Moon!
Here's to Bottom's Up!
Looks good Exoman.
Thanks, Thomas, we really like it!

Great, enjoy the project!
You need a strike plate chain lock, look them up in RUclips, I cannot post links for some reason..

Very cool!
Could have been a 3 minute video. It took 8 minutes before I heard a saw. Js thanks anyway

Great Idea, I am planning the same thing only I have not got the nice oak door you have..
@@exoman the door was 30$
It came from an fish market shop built in the 1930s that was being demolished.
This is the best!!
Edit) look at poe❤️

Well, we live alone and you surely can't see in at night. Too dark, also I addressed the privacy aspect.

You forgot to take advantage of a "Heeeeeerrrreeee's Johnny!" moment.
Replace those little screws on your strike plate with 3" screws into the studs.
