Sorry I've not been commenting on the last videos, but here goes!
This was a lot of fun. Ash Vs Grimsley was great, with Serperior being the highlight of the battle. Goh and Sonia are a cool duo, with contrasting approaches to handling difficulties. And Leon feeling outraged at Rose's betrayal is a nice bit of character work. All around, a fantastic episode!
Prob the most suprising event was Servine's evolution, but a welcomed one! Great to see the Regal Pokemon get some attention!

Chairman Rose is one of my favourite Pokémon Antagonists.
This was another great episode. It was a surprise to see servine evolve. The fight with grimsley was cool and how he challenged ashs title. And that cliffhanger. I guess darkest day is coming up.
And now I am at the actually point of the Rewrite of Journey! ❤ I have to change my mind. Ash and Goh a quite even❤

It’s not the PWC way of ranking. You rank is determined by your win to lose ratio, so right now Ash is 15th. It could go down could go up there are no classes.

A Semi-Ace is not the main Ace but still really strong similar case with Snorlax Incineroar Dragonite and Gengar still really strongest
It wasnt strength or luck that won Ash the Alola league it was the fact that only one of his opponents all league actually stood a chance at beating him 😂

We came along the way since BW rewrite, man i really wish to see more of chloe in next season, also i do not like you put darkest day at the end of season one like in og journeys but it was better build up
Personally I’m not a fan of the gen 8 story so I’d rather do my own thing and get it out of the way.

Alright, I'm mixed on this, so I'm going to try and give the positives and negatives I have.
Positives:
1. Grimsley's characterization was pretty good, and I liked seeing his gambler persona being used to it's fullest here.
2. Servine getting time to shine and evolve was nice.
3. Having Grimsley use Mega Sharpedo like in Masters EX and the Battle Tree.
4. Ash utilizing Z-Moves earlier on than in canon.
Negatives:
1. I feel like a Mega Evolution and an Evolution should be a bigger point of an episode, but Servine evolves and Sharpedo Mega Evolves in the middle of the battle. While it's still a good moment, I feel like that point should mean more than it feels like it does currently.
2. While I like Grimsley's characterization, him not understanding that luck can also be important in a battle feels weird. He's a gambler, so he should understand the importance of luck better than anyone. Not to mention how Ash doesn't prove him wrong about him being skilled. The way Grimsley's words are written, it's less that he acknowledges Ash's skill as a trainer, and more like he's doubling down on Ash's luck being why he wins, but now that is a good thing.
3. The pacing feels off in the episode. We have a major focus on the battle, which was paced pretty well, but the Galar stuff doesn't feel like it's been given enough time. The moment Goh and Sonia get to see the statues and realize what they could mean, the Darkest Day is already beginning. It doesn't seem likely that in the time they were taking, Oleana was able to get from Stow on Side, to Hammerlocke, speak with Chairman Rose, and then they start the Darkest Day.
4. What was the point of the mural stuff? I know that Oleana mentions to Rose that Sonia was able to discover the existence of Zacian and Zamazenta, but that's only because of the battle. If Oleana never battled Goh, and just let them be, they never would have seen the statues in the first place. The mural would have still been standing, as it's a landmark and neither would have even thought there would be something behind it. So all of that being said, why would they be trying to block off the mural at all, if there was no way they would have learned about Zacian and Zamazenta without the battle happening?
5. The Darkest Day beginning now, doesn't feel earned. It doesn't feel like there's been enough build up other than the second episode and the fourth episode having the game events of meeting the legends, and seeing the geoglyph with Sonia, as well as two Dynamax battles. Yes, we still get the stuff with the mural, but the moment that happens, we immediately rush into the Darkest Day beginning. It feels way too rushed, when there should be a bit more build up to it over time. It's not as bad as the canon Journeys, as the Darkest Day related events were all in those four episodes of the arc, but there isn't enough for me to feel as though this rewrite has earned the Darkest Day arc.
Very valid thoughts! Personally I’m not a huge fan of the Darkest day and want to focus on other things which is why it’s happening now. I tried to give it more buildup but I guess that’s just due to the faster nature of this series. Editing takes a while so I sadly can’t go as in depth.
@@Zanolith Personally, I think that if you don't like it, then that should give you more reason to want to improve it (especially in a case of not being able to just scrap it completely). Someone who doesn't like it would probably be better at fixing their own issues with it. But that's just what I think
@@ElectroPikachu that’s also very fair. I think it’s just a difference of perspective between you and I. While I try to enhance most things the darkest day I saw as something I really didn’t want to expand on and rather serve as a means to an end for a bigger original storyline.
