- I'M REWRITING ALL OF POKEMON JOURNEYS! Join 18 year old Ash Ketchum as he travels to the Galar region, where he meet Professor Cerise and his research fellow Goh. Now with a desire to see the world Ash joins the lab as another assistant, determined to help Goh achieve his dream of being the world's BEST Pokemon Professor. He also receives an invitation to the world's BIGGEST BATTLING TOURNAMENT, where his status as Alola Champion will be pushed to its limits!

Interesting to see how Goh wants to be a smarty pants instead of catching Mew. Also he already has Scorbunny and traveled the world BEFORE meeting Ash. Nice.
I appreciate how Ash is a bit more proactive in terms of how he ends up as a research fellow. He seemed a bit too passive about it in canon.
I love how Ash uses Charizard here. Really lets his reserves be used for more than just set dressing for battles.
Everyone wants Ash to have an Espeon, including me, but I ALSO would've loved to see hom have an Arcanine. Here's hoping.
Despite the fact the Champions League was retconned into the World Coronation Series, it's still interetsing to see you tackle the more literal concept. Ten tries, Ash. Dont waste em!

This in my opinion is a great start for this rewrite. However I would’ve kept the Pikachu backstory as the first episode, just to show the fans how far it’s been since the beginning.
Solid introduction to the series. Feels like there could've been a bit more in the episode, but that's fine. This part did it's job of introducing what the series is about

Okay this is a honestly a solid start to the series. Having the Cerise lab in Galar is in interesting choice. Plus it does give Galar more attention. I like Goh's different motive but does he still want to catch Pokemon? Glad you're still keeping the WCS but does it still function properly as the one from the real journeys? And i noticed Ash is using his reserves here, and that makes this more interesting. I'm looking forward to the next part.
It’s not the WCS it’s the champions league, so only elite four members and the champion can enter. Ash has to take on 10 battles an earn points. The people with the 8 most points become the masters &.
I think you misunderstood what the Champions League was in the canon anime, as explained in Bulbapedia:
“After winning a Pokémon League Conference, a Trainer may enter the Champion League of the relevant region, where the Elite Four and the League Champion await. Like in the games, Trainers must defeat all members of the Elite Four for the right of challenging the Champion. Once the Elite Four is defeated, Champions are required to defend their title from challengers. If the battle against the challenger is won, Champions hold on to their current status. However, if the challenger succeeds, Champions must relinquish their title to the winning Trainer, who will then be deemed the new Pokémon Champion.
In Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, all members of the Sinnoh Elite Four but Bertha have been shown challenging Cynthia for her title. It is unknown if they had to defeat their Elite colleagues or if they requested a battle from the Champion straight away. So far, the only mentions of the Champion League have been in An Elite Meet and Greet!, A Trainer and Child Reunion!, Ash and Trip's Third Battle!, and Ash Versus the Champion!.”
I feel like this may be a huge mistake on your part that affects the entire series, but oh well, can’t fix it now, looking forward to the next episode of this rewrite.

Bro i have Discoverd your channel just a few days ago and I have been watching the zanoverse and now I am at the second episode of xy and for now I have been loving it: the writing is on point and the only problem is the editing but I think it will be great when I get to journeys because xy seems promising! Just keep up the good work and really invest the time and effort on the masters 8 because it is supposed to be the peak of the series but in the original masters 8 just the ending is peak while everything else is mid to bad. (I personally think that ash should beat Tobias in the masters 8 but whatever you do it will probably be fire🔥.) keep up the good work!!!
I edited most of the Zanoverse on my phone but now I’m using premiere pro so it’s a lot better

With the power of hindsight, there's no way that this wouldn't be better than the original canon Journeys. As there's also no boring filler non developing episode after waiting for a week. Thank you. 👏🏼

Hey Zanolith! I haven't watched your Journeys rewrite YET but I can assure you that I will get around to it and will be doing episode review like I did for SM and XY. My current plan is that once you have finished your series, I will go back and rewatch your BW rewrite to do all new episode reviews and a full series review for THAT along with remastering my episode/full series reviews for your zanoverse XY. THEN, I will cap it off with my series review of journeys.
ONE MORE *IMPORTANT* THING, are you a fan of the film Megamind? I ask because it would be AMAZING if you rewrote the sequel, Megamind Vs. The Doom Syndicate, which is getting UNIVERSALLY panned by fans of the first film. You could title it *Megamind Returns* or something and, knowing your skills as a writer, I have a feeling that u would KNOCK it outta the park. Maybe once you are done with journeys or maybe if you take a break from it before the finale? Idk

2. The Champion League is just battling the Elite 4 & Champion in canon.
3. Not how I would've done it, but very impressive & enjoyable. When I got to that point, because I was going to start in Kanto & go forward, I was just going to have him qualify for the Ultra Class due to past achievements. He would still do the Gym Challenge.
4. Any plans to use Pokémon that weren't introduced yet, like Archaludon?
5. Could you please have Ash battle Gym Leaders in a 2v1 setting? Ex. Ash's Pikachu vs Bea's Machamp & Allister's Gengar.
6. After this, will you be doing Paldea, or something older? I was hoping to see a Sinnoh rewrite with him taking on the Battle Frontier & catching Hisui Pokémon in the Underground.

Zanolith already said Ash won't catch a lot of new pokemon because he is using reserves. He is going to catch Riolu though we saw that in the teaser

So the champions league is basically just the Pokemon world coronation series but you have to be at least a elite 4 status trainer

Well Done with the first Episode maybe the editing could be tweaked a little bit so It doesn't cut anything too short. Thank You for making it a 3 Season Rewrite Series because of my earlier suggestions. Anyway Is the Episode Count going to be higher each Season? Also doesn't Ash have to create a Elite Four for Alola or did Kukui handle that?
This series will be the longest rewrite and the elite four for Alola hasn’t been made yet.

Idk if I'm the only one who feels this way, but Goh and Cerise's voices don't seem to fit them at all. Cerise sound way younger than he realistically should be whereas Goh sounds quite older than expected. I feel like the two of them could have switched. Leon also sounds a bit younger than expected, but it's not as jarring as Cerise.
Sorry you didn’t like the vos, personally I was trying to go for different voices cause it’s not the same story, but we all got personal tastes and I hope you stick around regardless. Also for some context both Ash and Goh are around 17-18 here therefore the deeper voices.

I’ve always really liked Goh as a character in concept, just his execution wasn’t great at all. So I changed around his goal so I could give him the treatment he deserved.
