I am grandmother to 2 retired racing greyhounds. They are the most awesome companions. I was diagnosed with a rare incurable neurological condition 2 years ago and have had 2 brain surgeries now. The hounds, especially the female, are very aware of my well being. There are times that you could not entice them away with a steak, if they thought I was sick or in pain. Beautiful, regal, and intelligent breed.
A fine beast. Enjoy your time with him as you are doing. I just lost mine a couple months ago. They are the sweetest most lovable and fun companions. Bless you for taking in good old Frank.
My grandma does as well they are oldies now though very lazy and picky with food 😂 although my aunt and uncle recently adopted 1 and are looking to get another 👀
Can we please get a coats and collars collection video . The worl needs more greyhound fashoion! I loved this. My husband and I are getting a greyhound in just a few weeks. We are actually off to see her today !
Yes! 100%. We’re waiting on a new pjs to arrive and we need to get him a new coat (he’s bursting out of the one we got him when he arrived) so I’ll absolutely do one when I have those. We don’t have a huge amount of collars yet.. but he has two nice ones with leads for each 😊 best of luck with your doggo! They’re a gorgeous breed
There is a wonderful lady in the UK that makes collars and leads (by hand) they are beautifully made - we got our greyhound a collar and matching lead, he looks so smart www.boomerjack.co.uk

I adopted a retired racer in March and she had lost about half of her fur on her bum too. For the past month I have been feeding her 3 tablespoons of raw oats mixed with a half cup of water and microwaved for two mins, then add a dash of cinnamon and one tablespoon of raw coconut oil mixed in. She LOVES it and the fur is growing back in nicely. She weighs 60 pounds and that is the amount i feed her once a day in the morning. She will stand by the counter next to the microwave until I make them haha. Frank is a doll aren’t greys the BEST??❤️❤️
Oh that's great to hear! Frank has finally started to sit in his bed to wait for food... but if we're 10 mins late with it he'll let us know.. haha! And yes... they are just the BEST boys and girls. Give your doggo a head pat from me :)
I should be getting my first dog it’s a greyhound in 12 days hopefully 🙏 I met him today he is so calm and relaxed and well behaved. He is being looked after by fosters at the moment.
Your Frank looks like our dog Sophie, she's a terrier greyhound mix and their eyes look so similar 😍 she's black and white with an amazing smooth coat. Loved to see Frank run around 💞
We have eight dogs, we are retired and 75. They are our second family children, LOL! To train dogs not to bark we use a drink can and put in a few coins. Seal the can with duct tape. Shake the can and it stops the barking, no harm done! Love Frank. We had a sight hound. He has gone over the rainbow bridge. They are fabulous dogs. Sweetest natures. Hope the spoiled 20 and 30 somethings in the USA are watching your video’s. Elaine, you have wisdom beyond your years. And, you have beautiful smiling Irish eyes. Love your channel❣️
A lovely update on Franks progress. We’ve had Greys since 2003 and fell in love with them. We homed a new houndie 1yr and a half ago, such a scared girl just under 2yrs old. The milestones are very familiar but always so nice when you hit them. And of course you join a big family you never knew you had.
Totally! I’d say we’ll always have greys now. I can’t see myself wanted any other breed.. and it’s so great to give them a better life than the one they were born in to. Thanks for watching!
Hi Pamela, thanks so much for the comment. Frank is very loved. If you’re looking for more dog specific content Magnus the Greyhound is a really good channel.
We adopted are greyhound in November and we have seen some changes in her. Since the lock down she has got better with knowing her name but she is still not to sure what to do with toys. But seeing how you greyhound has come on in 12 months, it gives me confidence that mine will get there with patience, love and care.
The toys was the last big change in Frank.. and we honestly thought it would never happen. We eventually put all his toys away actually, and would take a new one out every now and then to gauge interest. The handy part about that is when he did start to show interest, we had a whole box filled with things he’d never seen before!
he,s a good looking greyhound , nice to see you,ve gone for a black dog as some people think they,re not as good looking but i,ve had 5 black grey,s so far and they are the best!!!
Absolutely lovely, Frank is STUNNING!! pleeease put some window film on your doors, because I know of greyhounds that had run straight into them years after living in the home... Its awful!
This is so great to watch! My Luna, who has been with me 3 weeks is presenting more like frank after a year. Everyone told me that Luna was amazing girl, and I think watching these changes, I can see how well adjusted she is. Thank you!
LOL.. we have had a pair.. always a pair of Great Danes for 20yrs and focusing on their relationships with us is just infectious! The joy that our dogs have given us is simply indescribable. 2 Danes @ 130lbs and 190lbs in a king size bed with the wife and I. Crazy .. right but hey to each their own.. the more you engage their personalities the happier they are and more joy you get! PEACE
Great to see the change in him over a year, just watched Jenna Marbles' one year update for her greyhound Bunny and it'samazing how they've both had huge changes in such different ways. Thanks for doing such thorough videos too, I used your "Hidden Costs of Getting a Dog" as pretty much a bible when buying stuff for my grey. We were approved to adopt her literally a day before the lockdown so it's been a loooooong lockdown waiting for Lola to be able to come home.
Aww wow!! Thank you for that amazing feedback! Delighted my videos helped! I’m sad for you that you have to wait a bit longer for Lola, but it will be so worth it. They’re the best dogs. When you do get her, if you have any questions or worries.. message me on Frank’s account on Instagram (@frank.t.greyt) 😊 id love to hear how ye get on!
This is a lovely report! Thank you. Frank looks like the male counterpart of our Evie (or Everest) who was a racing dog injured in training (with a shattered hind leg), botched medical care at the track, then brought back to health by excellent free veterinary surgery at the local university, fostered by a young couple who became our friends (they have a blonde greyhound), and now with us for almost three years. One striking thing -- and I wish I could post a photograph, but apparently I can't -- is the IKEA black and white cat pillow that features in Frank's 'toy bliss' sequence: Evie has one of those too! She rests her head on it and possibly doesn't feel surveilled or oppressed because in fact she lives with three black-and-white cats (tuxedo cats) and one fluffy cat. Evie, from a racing stable, also took a long time to understand toys, but now has fits of playfulness when she tosses fluffy things at us and gets giddy with excitement. Well, anyway -- Frank looks wonderful, and reminds me (though I have only to look at Evie, currently snoozing on the couch next to me, to be reminded) how smashing the experience of living with a greyhound has been. Evie, too, went through a profound change in her first year with us; mind you, I fear that because Liz and I are at home all the time in recent weeks, her tendency to fixate on us has been exacerbated (though she has always done perfectly well when my wife and I were both out of the house at work); still, there's a certain comedy to walking in the garden, stopping to look at something and having Evie bump into my legs because she was following me so closely. In general, actually, I've never lived with a dog that I considered "humourous," but Evie's moods and expressions and behaviour are so often hilarious that I suspect we reinforce her silliness with our response to them... I shall now watch your first videos, because somehow I missed them. Thanks again.
Haha!! Evie and Frank are pillow twins!! That’s so funny. And you’re not the first greyhound owner I’ve spoken to who says they also have the same pillow 😂 i’m a fan of cats too.. and greyhounds are like the best of both animals! Evie sounds great.. and you’re so right.. they are actually such a funny goofy breed. I find I laugh at frank’s messing atleast once a day if not more. He’s a proper goof ball! We’ve been trying to get out for walks with Frank a bit just to get him used to us not being around... but I know whenever I go back to my office we’ll have to put in a bit of effort getting him used to being alone again. I actually think he’ll be totally fine.. but just so we don’t go from 1hour away.. to 6 in one go. Thanks for watching and the lovely comment. Say hi to Evie!
@@ElainePower I realized I could show you photos without doing anything rude like asking for an email address, simply by making an album at my photographic sharing site. Oh, and if you *do* (and anyone else reading this, I guess, in the great world beyond) want to see something remarkable and greyhound-related, go to 2020\Rabbit-Snail-Hound, where you will see a remarkable embroidery by a friend who teaches Mediaeval history, and set her students the task of making something based on a mediaeval text, and ended up making wonderful artifacts herself. I commissioned this, which she found in some illuminated manuscript or other -- a greyhound mounted by a rabbit with snail, falcon-style, on its wrist...
Oh wow!!! She’s gorgeous! The cats are fab too. Thanks so much for sharing these 😊😊 she looks like a much loved, happy girl. Her face is so much greyer than franks but I feel he’s getting greyer by the day, so it’s a nice glimpse into the future.
I had so much fun watching this video. Everything you shared about his changes over his first year were absolutely wonderful to see. Truly, as.you say, he is a happy boy!
Lovely video and hound. I've have had greyhounds myself for nearly 30 years now and they are very special. Of course all dogs are lovely - as are animals generally. I was wincing a little one he was skittering around on the wooden floor as I've had a few dogs injure themselves quite badly by slipping. This includes a dog slipping and causing a disc extrusion bad enough to have to have her put down. Greyhound and slippery floors can be lethal combination.
I just found your channel today and loved seeing your story. It’s great listening not just the love for Frank - though the preparation and mindfulness .... He’s gorgeous.
I am watching your video as I am about to adopt a greyhound. Wow! I'm so glad to see Frank has such a good home! Thank you for showing these videos. It's giving me some tips and hints on what do to when I adopt my beautiful grey.
I am two years in with my girl Millie. It’s an absolute treat to see how far she’s come. And it’s great to see how far your greyhound has come along. It’s only been a year but I look forward to your updates on him.
We've had our Greyhound for 1 year now.. her Gotcha date was June 16th 2019. And we have experienced so many similar things! It's so amazing! Our girl Lucy (racing name: Dutch Lucinda) had a dull coat with hair missing on her bum and now she grew it all back and has a beautiful shiny coat and has filled out. She's also black, looks just like Frank! She also had a scar on her face, we thought would be there forever and it went away in a couple months as well. She has so much confidence now, LOVES going on car rides.. she gets SUPER excited once we put on her scarf she knows we're going in car. And she knows to give a paw shake for a treat and definitely knows her name as well as her nickname "babygirl". Also getting a Greyhound has changed our lives! She brings so much joy to our lives, it's so wonderful! Loved your video and seeing Frank's progress.
I just followed her on Instagram.. omg they are so similar!! She’s absolutely gorgeous. Glad to hear she’s settling in well and living her best life 🥰🥰
My boyfriend and I finally started the adoption process after two years of dreaming about it and I am over the moon! Next week they are going to check our house and garden. Fingers crossed! :))
Greyhounds are Great over the years my wife and I have lived with many greyhounds... since 1992 -- 12 ... now we have two Italian greyhounds, their goofy cousins
Italian greyhounds were the reason we found out how great greyhounds are. A RUclipsr we follow has them... and it led us down the path of sighthound obsession. How many greys did you have in total??
@@blacknwhitehound Omg! That's amazing, and so great of you to look after 12 houndies. I have a very strong suspicion that we will be greyhound owners forever.
Me too… my girl Pearl just hit 3 months with me and oh boy… furminator, kong, wire brush - feels like I’m brushing her multiple times a day, a handful comes off at a time lol…
I just came across this as, coincidentally, I got in touch with H.U.G a week ago and have been googling greyhound adoption ever since. I went back to watch your adoption video and honestly, you are just so kind and patient with Frank, it's beyond lovely. Thanks a million. I'm hoping to adopt one soon so your tips are invaluable. x
Oh wow!! That’s so exciting that you might have a greyhound soon. Thanks for your lovely comments. We addddore Frank! He’s such a great boy. Greyhounds in general are just excellent! 😍
@@ElainePower Thanks so much for your reply Elaine! I had a long call with the loveliest H.U.G rep about adoption. It might not work because we have a rescue cat but they will let me know if a suitable greyhound comes up. I'm just hoping there may be one out there for us. Look forward to seeing more of you guys and Frank here in the future!x
I was so happy to see this update!😍 Frank has flourished so much and it is so nice to see his personality! (So sassy..🤣) We are going to adopt a Spanish greyhound (rescued from hunting competitions) this summer and I am so thrilled😍😍 Your videos gave us a lot of insight and confidence to embark on this adventure, so many thanks to you and Frank!♥️
Oh wow, a galgo?? That’s amazing! Sighthounds are such wonderful dogs. I hope it all goes well for you! The first few weeks can be tricky getting used to your dog and teaching them things, but they’ll steal your heart very quickly!
Elaine Power Yes a galgo! Camilla😍 I agree, it will be a bit of a challenge both for her and us, but I’m really so excited I do not even know how to wait 3 more months! Thank you♥️♥️
I have been following a group that does galgo street rescues for months now. Yours sounds like a different type of rescue? Are you in Spain? How did you make the arrangements?
Thanks! I feel like the videos don’t do it justice just how skinny he was (and how *not* beefy he is now). He had so little muscle mass on his bum and shoulders and the poor thing was absolutely ravenous. Since putting on a bit of weight, he has such gorgeous muscles and is super chill and happy. They’re such great dogs 😊
My greyhound was a racer in the US and she was the same when I first got her with not understanding toys. I've had her 7 months and she's just started to really love toys and play with them! She acted the same, like she just didn't understand them or had never seen them before
That's great to hear she finally got used to them! Frank is such a toy fiend now. We have a little box that we keep toys he's not playing with in... and yesterday I opened it to see if he'd like anything... he dug through the toys and pulled out ones to put to the side.. just to get to his ducky. My heart....
My girl actually loves chewing on bones! And she loves tennis balls, along with fluffy toys which she enjoys during zoomies. Agreed though she doesn't really get hard chew toys, she won't touch those. And she'll chase the ball around the room... But fetch? No way lol
Something to think about is professionals say never attach your dogs name to “no” or “bad.” Anything good or bad. They will associate it with the name. That is why your dog is confused. You only want to use your dogs name to get their attention.
Just rewatched your video maybe 6 months on from the last time. We now have 2 adopted greyhounds. And although they're so different from the other dogs we've had over the years. I can see all that they do in what you're saying about Frank. They are so lovely and loving. Thanks for all your insights into ownership of the beauties. Looking forward to the next one I can watch. Hope you're all keeping well in these wierd days. 😊🐾🐾
Thanks for coming back to watch again! Your home has two dogs!!? I’m so envious 😂 they’re such gorgeous dogs.. and yes.. kind of weirdos in comparison to other dogs 😂 I hope you’re keeping well also ❤️
Excellent! I have another video on the hidden costs of getting a dog, and it’s crammed full of greyhound specific advice if you haven’t seen it? Good for planning what you’ll need for your houndie.
Hi Elaine, we have 2 greys at our house. One of our girls looks just like Frank and she had a fairly bare chest and rear when we got her. Our vet works with a lot of local greyhounds and he told us 1-1.5mg of melatonin every 2-3 days will stimulate the hair growth. We just open a 3mg capsule and split it between the girls in their food. We have been on it for several weeks now and there are these little baby hairs coming in on her bare spots. Have a look into it if you like!
Really nice to feel your love for you greyhound. We had to say goodbye to our second greyhound (Mini) a month ago and still missing her badly. We both know we'll get another sooner or later so having that to look forward to keeps us going. Y' Frank there looks like a wonderful dog. Always nice seeing another couple join the best-dog-in-the-world owners club.
Awwww so sorry to hear about Mini. I can’t even begin to imagine a day without Franko! He’s just the best boy.. and thank you 🥰 I feel like it’s easy to want to be the best dog owner when you’ve adopted a dog who’s part of the best-dog-breed-in-the-world club 😊😊
I've come to this 2 years later, but a lot of it is very familiar. Our black boy Mouse is a retired racer, and I now can't imagine life without him. He's easy to feed and his weight stays constant to within 200g irrespective of snacks, treats, etc. However, he does need grain-free food because otherwise the farting is intolerable, dark green poison gas... Like Frank, he's got a very soft, sleek and shiny coat, to the point that other greyhound owners remark on it. The secret is sardines, I think, oh, and he likes a bit of 'cheesoning' on his food, just the smallest sprinkle of grated cheese for interest. He has several toys, but like Frank, came to them late. The favourite is Bad Monkey, who gets punished whenever Mouse doesn't get his way, or dinner is a bit late, but Squeaker Pig comes a close second. I think he must be a bit unusual amongst greyhounds in that he has a very deep, loud, solitary bark which he only uses to let us know he wants to go in or out, but never for any other reason. He prefers his own beds (all 4 of them) to sleeping with us, but if I'm sick, he'll come and lie on the bed and supervise me and keep me company. He's only 6 now, so we can look forward to many more years with him, but I'll never again want to be without a greyhound to keep me company.
I’ve just got my first greyhound, after researching for around 2 yrs. I love all your Frank vids, so helpful & informative ( & Frank is gorgeous!) so please do more! X
She’s gorgeous, such a good girl. The only issue is her very high prey drive, makes walking her on the beach really difficult when other dogs are about. Would love to know if you experienced this with Frank? I’m thinking of getting a harness as she pulls so much so I’d love a harness review vid too! Sending tummy rubs to Frank! X
Happy gotcha Frank!!!!! Our Ned (also from HUG) just celebrated his gotcha day a couple of weeks ago and also has learned his name (but chooses to selectively ignore us now)
17:20 I do the exact same play stance with my hounds! The male, Koda, reminds me so much of Frank in demeanor and excitement. His racing name was Happy Boy, it's apt.
My whippet was a delight. For him food was not a great reward, but praise and petting were. I let him sleep with me, but he usually changed beds over the course of a night, only ending up in the morning back-to-back with me. Best of luck with Frank!
Ok, 4 years on and after having watched this, I believe that Frank needs to take a step up and yo and yours need to step up. Ergo, Frank needs in this order, a KING sized comfy bed, his OWN plot of land 3-4 acres, a permanent girlfriend and finally, his own pub. Hey! If the is this adorable, the profits for him just standing behind the bar and looking adorable will more than make up for the outlay! But all kidding aside, he is looking fantastic. Now...go give him a hug and kiss. 🙂
For lose of hair on backside use Germaline and Olive Oil/ Mix them together, and rub on the bald patches. You should get the Germaline from any Chemist.
Aw love this video! So glad that Frank is settled and having such a great time. We have a black greyhound too, she’s called Lucy, we adopted her in Sept 2017. She’s exactly the same in all areas really (only she’s less sassy and doesn’t bark)! Lucy’s coat took quite a while to improve and she’s still got a bald bum, despite oats, salmon oil and supplements everyday! Luckily she has pjs and coats to cover it 🤣
Thank you!! Lucy sounds amazing ❤️❤️ and it’s comforting to hear that Frank isn’t on his own in the baldy bum club 😂 Sometimes I would like if Frank was slightly less sassy, for our neighbours sake... but he’s a happy boy so I can’t complain 😊 thanks for watching!
I saw a vet do a tummy surgery on a big dog to keep him from getting the rolling stomach so many big dogs are prone to get. If I had a big dog I would have that done in a heart beat. It is so painful for the dog and unless corrected early it's fatal.
We have a grey boy very like Frank; also a bald butt. But once they're on a non-racing diet, they tend to get very shiny and soft, and Rainey is now, almost a year in, too.
Frank is gorgeous. For the bald spot check out a product made by Stinky Stuff. For greyhounds they now make fluffy sleeping pouches, which they love These are so practical for travelling
Wormy is doing very well, I feed him the same food as frank she loves it. I love the clip of frank with the toy turkey wormy is the same with her toys too.
Dogs can be depressed in new environments, mine for sure gets a bit depressed whenever he has to be in a new place or with people he does not know, and each time people believe he is hungry, or something else is wrong with him. When generally he just needs to get adjusted and get to know the space or the new people.
I love your videoooos, especially the ones about Frank :) my boyfriend and I are thinking about adopting a greyhound/galgo, so thank you for all the infos! Frank seems to be such a good and happy boy, love to see more about him!

I'm looking at getting a rescue lurcher / greyhound, I've spoke to a few people regarding keeping them on a lead at all times, alot of people have also mentioned having to muzzle them also. Does that apply when on the lead too
Hey! Where are you based? I’m not sure what rules apply in different jurisdictions, but in Ireland greyhounds don’t have to be muzzled in public places. Some people do use muzzles though because their hounds might be reactive on or off the lead, or sometimes when a few hounds are running in a dog park they can get bitey. We only muzzle frank in a dog park when there are smaller breeds or breeds he is unfamiliar with. But there’s no legal requirement as far as I’m aware!
I see the wrapper in shreds on the floor...did he open his gift on his own? He was waiting for it to get up and run away so he could catch it and toss it and do it again. Try a laser pen on him...he'll go mad for chasing it out in the yard.
Yes... he opened his own present 🤣 he loves to shred paper.. so it was a double whammy of a gift. We must try a laser.. he’s definitely become interested in flies this summer. And thank you! He was a different boy when he arrived a year ago. We’re so happy with his progress and just love seeing him happy and content 😊
There is not a better breed of dog for a family. Most gentle and loving animal. When I walk up to mine, she literall drops down and rolls onto her back to get her belly rubbed. One thing never, ever do with a greyhound is letting them off the leash. When we go for walks and dogs are barking at her, she does not even look at them.. she just stays walking next to me. she knows when we get to a corner to stop and wait for me to tell her left, right,or stright. If we had a real busy day.. she will sleep for 20 hours the next day. She has her own couch and if she is tired, there is nothing you can say they she will even acknowledge you are talking to her.. she will just look at you with the look... sorry buddy, I aint moving...lol. I have had 3 of them. I have never seen a greyhound that needs a muzzle. I had watched so many video and have been shocked that people have them with muzzles. Maybe I am super lucky that no of my greyhound have never shown signs of being mad. Never heard any growls. I do not think there is a single thing anyonyone can do to anger anyone I had. She took over the second couch and sleeps on her back with legs completely stretched out and sleeps with eyes open
He only ever has twice in over 2.5 years, but nothing very concerning. I don’t think it’s something he suffers from really. We are also super careful to make sure that we make a noise before waking him or getting up so as to avoid sleep startle!
Hello! First excuse my english ! Thx for this really interested video ! We adopt this thuesday a galga (spanish greyhound) and your video explain lots of attitudes of Our Moka ^^ .
Elaine Power yes she is ! She is super quiet (I think she don’t know how to play 🤣), pretty and so funny! But not interrested by food... so learning some tricks would’nt be easy 😅
Thanks Elaine for this happy update - I loved seeing Frank’s progress! I read through the comments and apologize if I missed it, but could you speak to how Frank managed the stairs in your home? I’m considering adopting a retired racer, and as I have two sets of stairs in my three-level apartment, I’m curious how that might go.
Hey! We had no issues with Frank and stairs, but I know that’s not always the case with greyhounds. Any friends of mine who had greys with a fear of the stairs got them over it through food bribes and lots of encouragement. If you’re going through a greyhound charity definitely mention it to them? They might even have dogs who went to foster first and are used to stairs. Would there be an option to have the dog sleep on the lower level for the first few nights if they are a bit nervous?
@@ElainePower Thanks for the reply! Yes, I will plan on having lots of treats on hand, as well as beds in multiple locations as a backup plan. The greyhound charity has assured me that, most of the time it’s fine - just take it easy and guide them with a harness for a bit until they get used to it. Cheers!
@@ladolceboy I was just watching this video 3 weeks into adopting our retired racer. Our lil (huge) dude was very scared of the stairs at first, after he got stuck up at the top on the first day. A harness is a good shout. We slept downstairs for 4 nights whilst he got a bit better at them, but we found that after a few days of lining each stair with a bit of chicken, he was tempted enough to give it a go. Wooden or lino stairs are harder and we got a door mat for the bottom of ours so that he wouldn't shoot into the wall. Good luck!!
Thanks @Rosanna! I did order some adhesive, carpet-like stair tread things that I’m hoping will reduce the potential for slips, as well as a harness with both a handle grip and a shorter lead/tether attachment. I have heard of others using treats to encourage the process and I will definitely keep that in mind!
@@ElainePower Our Rainey only barks when he's excited about going for a walk, or when he sees other dogs. But he converses in whining and peeping... and AUGH.
I absolutely loved this content, tbh you sounded exactly like me. .. My ex racer rescue greyhound, went through more or less the same stages of progression too ..... The ultimate breed of dag ! It's so lovely to see their confidence grow . Does Frank know the sound of your car ? Spoiled mine (Dermot) so I share my bed with him ... You don't need makeup ..dx
Yeah! He hears my partner coming home from work and waits at the top of the stairs! Or if we’ve gone out to do the groceries.. he’ll be at the kitchen door when we get home. The odd time he thinks another car is ours and will wait at the top of the stairs 🙈 breaks my heart. They’re such great doggos! I love that yours is called Dermot 😍
One of greyhounds and several friend of mine greyhounds have had the balding thighs. My veterinarian said it's cartel thigh alopecia, my spelling on that might not be accurate. Very common in sighthounds and nothing to worry about at all. Enjoy rubbing those bald thighs. Frank looks awesome! Black greyhounds rule😉

There is a wonderful lady in the UK that makes collars and leads (by hand) they are beautifully made - we got our greyhound a collar and matching lead, he looks so smart www.boomerjack.co.uk

Gotta love a black grey. They’re the best!
Yes! I live it when they have little white “socks,” don’t you??

@Lance - Amazing! I've seen a few black greys on instagram and they're so similar to Frank in temperament and characteristics.
@GreyhoundHomecare - I adore his little socks and I love that his front and back paws have different length socks.
He’s GORGEOUS.
after having 4 greyhounds at one time i just cant get enough of them. Their awesome!!
They're like a weird, goofy, lovable drug!
Fantastic hound. Such a happy lad.
Thank you! He's a very happy boy :)
Frank is absolutely beautiful
Thank you! He’s so fab
Thank you for sharing- Frank is delightful and gorgeous! Made my day!
Awwww thank you Christine 🥰🥰🥰
I should be getting my first dog it’s a greyhound in 12 days hopefully 🙏 I met him today he is so calm and relaxed and well behaved. He is being looked after by fosters at the moment.
Amazing!!! Best of luck with it all. They’re such great dogs.
Beautiful dog!! U obviously look after him very Well!
Thanks David. We do our best for him :)
@@ElainePower very best of luck to u and yours!
Lovely hound. Hope he's still happy and enjoying his life. Ditto you humans!
He is, thank you! He’s a very happy boy 🥰 living with us nearly 4 & 1/2 years now!
Awww he’s so precious! I have a greyhound too! She’s an ex racer from Florida. Best of luck! They’re THE BEST! !! 💞💞💞
Amazing!! They’re such great doggos 😊😊 thanks for watching xx
🐾❤️🐶❤️🐾Once they settle in, you feel like they’ve been there forever.
Totally! I couldn't imagine a house without Franko!
Love the video. Something light hearted and cheerful in the dull days of lockdown. Hope your all keeping well,👍
Thank you Brian! We're doing good, hope you are too! Frank is loving all this working from home business.. like all his Christmases have come at once.
Your Frank looks like our dog Sophie, she's a terrier greyhound mix and their eyes look so similar 😍 she's black and white with an amazing smooth coat. Loved to see Frank run around 💞
Oh wow! A terrier greyhound mix. She sounds fab :)
@@ElainePower she's the best 💞
Y’all r such great fur parents! Frank is a lovely boy
Aw thanks! He is a great boy! We adore him 😊
We have eight dogs, we are retired and 75.
Thank you Joanna! That’s so sweet and kind of you to say. Can’t believe you have eight dogs!! That is the dream 😊😊
I am so glad Frank has such a great home. I would like to just see him interacting with you rather than you talking
Best
The handy part about that is when he did start to show interest, we had a whole box filled with things he’d never seen before!
he,s a good looking greyhound , nice to see you,ve gone for a black dog as some people think they,re not as good looking
but i,ve had 5 black grey,s so far and they are the best!!!
Also.. 5 black greys?? Amazing!!
Thank you!
Oh wow! Luna sounds fab! They’re such great dogs 😍 it’s lovely to watch them settle in and come out of their shell
Great to see him doing so well.❤️
LOL.. we have had a pair.. always a pair of Great Danes for 20yrs and focusing on their relationships with us is just infectious!
This is so exciting we have just started the process of adopting a greyhound... We are so excited it's great to see your progress!
Amazing! It’s the best decision you’ll ever make 😂😂 I loved making the video and looking back at how far Frank has come since that first week
Glad I found your videos. We get out 4 month old adopted greyhound puppy on Monday! Lots of work and lots of fun to come. X
Awww thank you Alice! How is your puppy getting on? I’ve never seen a greyhound puppy in real life before.. I bet they’re the cutest 😊😊
@@ElainePower She will be delivered to us tomorrow morning. We are all very excited. X
What a fine hound Frank is. A real credit to you, though I bet he gets through some meat each week!
Thank you! He has a big appetite for sure 😅 the things you don't think of when you adopt a dog who is essentially a miniature horse!!
In the highly improbable event you wanted to download an image, the password is (duh) Everest. These aren't 'real' photographs (though you can see lots of those, if you're bored, by backing out of the album and getting to the root of 2020, or the site as a whole), just iPhone images; but they capture Evie's character very well. julianhallidayphotos.smugmug.com/2020/Evie-and-others
Aaaaw thank you so much!! He’s an even happier boy now 😍 over three years with us!
Important watch out! Thanks for stopping by the video 😊😊
Greyhounds and whippets are hands down the best !
Sighthounds > all other dogs 😍😍
38 kg is perfect. So nicely filled out. He’s so adorable
Thanks!
I just found your channel today and loved seeing your story. It’s great listening not just the love for Frank - though the preparation and mindfulness .... He’s gorgeous.
Aw thanks Heather! And thank you for watching :)
I am watching your video as I am about to adopt a greyhound. Wow! I'm so glad to see Frank has such a good home! Thank you for showing these videos. It's giving me some tips and hints on what do to when I adopt my beautiful grey.
I'm doing the same :-)
Thank you both for watching! They're the best dogs :)
I am two years in with my girl Millie. It’s an absolute treat to see how far she’s come. And it’s great to see how far your greyhound has come along. It’s only been a year but I look forward to your updates on him.
Thank you!! I’m sure Millie is part of the furniture at this point 😊😊 I love how they just steal your heart (...and sofa)

Elaine Power we had 12 ... currently 2 Italians We had as many as 3 big greys and 4 Italians at once ... but on average we had 3
@@blacknwhitehound Omg! That's amazing, and so great of you to look after 12 houndies. I have a very strong suspicion that we will be greyhound owners forever.
I’m glad you mentioned about the shedding!! I’ve had my rescue greyhound 2 months and he’s shedding so much it’s a wonder he’s not bald!!
That first year was crazy! I was constantly hoovering. This year I barely noticed the shed... it gets better!

Fantastic update,I see a marked change in Frank's personality..Thanks!
Thank you! He’s a different dog 🥰
I was so happy to see this update!😍
Frank has flourished so much and it is so nice to see his personality! (So sassy..🤣)
We are going to adopt a Spanish greyhound (rescued from hunting competitions) this summer and I am so thrilled😍😍
Your videos gave us a lot of insight and confidence to embark on this adventure, so many thanks to you and Frank!♥️
Interesting thing about greyhounds, if they're healthy they smell sweet!
Beautiful boy. Also he actually wasn’t too skinny when you first got him! He had good muscle mass he was just a tad lean.
I’m so envious 😂 they’re such gorgeous dogs.. and yes.. kind of weirdos in comparison to other dogs 😂 I hope you’re keeping well also ❤️
What a lovely guy Frank is. Planning a greyhound adoption just now, great information on food requirements etc. Thank You. 🐕
Oh, that’s very interesting! I’ll look into that. Thanks for watching!
We're three weeks in with our adopted hound, so viewing your progress is most helpful - thank you
That's great to hear! If you ever have any questions, hit me up on his Instagram @frank.t.greyt - Best of luck with it all!
We give frank salmon oil and his coat is sooooo shiny!! This is such a lovely update, thank you. So many similarities to our boy xx
I love Frank
Me too
I’ve just got my first greyhound, after researching for around 2 yrs. I love all your Frank vids, so helpful & informative ( & Frank is gorgeous!) so please do more! X
Thank you!! How's your grey getting on?? xx
Thank you so much for this vid!!! ❤️
Thanks for watching 😊😊
Happy gotcha Frank!!!!! Our Ned (also from HUG) just celebrated his gotcha day a couple of weeks ago and also has learned his name (but chooses to selectively ignore us now)
Go Ned! Frank is a fan of pretending he can’t hear you too 😂😂
17:20 I do the exact same play stance with my hounds! The male, Koda, reminds me so much of Frank in demeanor and excitement. His racing name was Happy Boy, it's apt.
Awwww wow! Koda sounds so fab 😍 hounds are the best
My whippet was a delight. For him food was not a great reward, but praise and petting were. I let him sleep with me, but he usually changed beds over the course of a night, only ending up in the morning back-to-back with me. Best of luck with Frank!
Awww, thanks for sharing!
Niiiiccceeeee Hound, even though not Grey 🤣
Great video. I do not have one, but plan for a Whippet. So half the way ❤️
Ok, 4 years on and after having watched this, I believe that Frank needs to take a step up and yo and yours need to step up.
He’s lovely ❤️
My Greyhound needs to run free in max speed several days in week, if not she’s bark and go crazy 😍
Awwww she sounds great!!
We adopted our beautiful black greyhound called Lady 3 months ago. she gets along with our gorgeous boy Bob who is a racing Whippet .
Hi to Lady & Bob! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Hello to you & handsome Frank from me & Sheletie Vicki !!!
He's so cute
Love the video Elaine very informative, Michelle and wormy.
Thanks Michelle! Hope wormy is doing good!
We have a grey boy very like Frank; also a bald butt. But once they're on a non-racing diet, they tend to get very shiny and soft, and Rainey is now, almost a year in, too.
Oh great! Frank is soooo shiny in comparison to last year. His coat is fab now. So great to see them flourish. Hi to Rainey! 😊😊
@@ElainePower It is AMAZING how shiny they get.... couldn't have anything to do with hand oils from all the petting, I'm sure. :)
Frank it's so beautiful.
Frank is gorgeous. For the bald spot check out a product made by Stinky Stuff. For greyhounds they now make fluffy sleeping pouches, which they love These are so practical for travelling
Frank is amazing!
Thank you! We think so too 🥰
Just brilliant he's lovely
Thank you!!
Wormy is doing very well, I feed him the same food as frank she loves it. I love the clip of frank with the toy turkey wormy is the same with her toys too.
Ah great! Glad to hear the food is working, and she’s as funny with her toys as Frank is 😂😂
Dogs can be depressed in new environments, mine for sure gets a bit depressed whenever he has to be in a new place or with people he does not know, and each time people believe he is hungry, or something else is wrong with him.

Great to see.
Rub coconut oil on his rear haunches and the bald patch will improve greatly.
I love a big beautiful boy. Good lad 😍
Ronan playing with Frank😂😂😂 Gas!!
He’s basically another dog
Hi Elaine. Super video! Frank is thriving! 🐶
Quick question, did Frank ever display signs of sleep startle? Many thanks!
He only ever has twice in over 2.5 years, but nothing very concerning. I don’t think it’s something he suffers from really. We are also super careful to make sure that we make a noise before waking him or getting up so as to avoid sleep startle!
My girlfriend is always complaining about my hairy bum and your concerned that Frank doesn't have a hairy enough bum... A bloke can never win...
My greyhound has that same cat pillow from Ikea 😎
That's so funny! You're about the 5th person to tell me that... haha! We must all be animal obsessed.
Hello! First excuse my english ! Thx for this really interested video ! We adopt this thuesday a galga (spanish greyhound) and your video explain lots of attitudes of Our Moka ^^ .
I hope your dog is getting on ok!! It can sometimes be a bit of extra work at the start.. but they’re 100% worth the effort 😊😊😊
Elaine Power yes she is ! She is super quiet (I think she don’t know how to play 🤣), pretty and so funny! But not interrested by food... so learning some tricks would’nt be easy 😅
She will come out of her shell 😊 she just doesn’t know how to be a pet dog yet ☺️
@@ladolceboy Good luck, sounds perfect!
It takes a while for them to get sassy, but when they do...yeah. LOUD.
Oh yes!! Frank is a vocal doggo 🙈
That's very interesting, and yes.. Black greyhounds do rule!
