Totally TOTALLY precious!! (Georgia, your daughter, their relationship, the story, the video -- all of it!) And that water is amazing! So clear, so inviting. Wow. Beautiful, lovely sweet story
My greyhound died last April. They are fantastic companions. Considering what they went through they can turn around so quickly. Yes they are the perfect dogs for a young girl. They are beautiful, smart, super clear, fun. Watching them run free is really awesome. I still tear up looking at my greyhound pictures. But I know I gave him a great life.
Ours has passed too - she was a rescue here in Oregon USA. They shut down racing in the last state, Florida, I believe. She was the same coloration as Georgie! She was so loved by us, and our two cats (she was tested as cat friendly). I too tear up when I see them, but kind of in a good way. Just seeing them be free and happy is fantastic!
I don’t think most people know for sure what happens to most racing dogs, while they are racing. Everyone just assumes it is a traumatising experience for every one of them, but would it surprise you to know that racing can actually be done humanely. Yes the dogs do actually love running, they love any form of it including chasing the lure in races. There are far too many greyhounds bred, but just like any industry when you are trying to breed champions of any description, be it show dogs, agility dogs, sheep dogs, you name it there are too many bred to get to that one champion. Because greyhounds only race for a relatively short time, even if they are champions. They might only race for 2, 3, 4 years tops. The problem is most of them live 15 years and some many more years than that. We have had a few greyhounds in our time. One we had lived for 18 years. She had apparently been a brood bitch and had litter after litter. Unfortunately she ended up with Osteosarcoma in her hip otherwise she might have lived far longer than that. She was the most easy going, confident dog we had ever had. We have only ever had rescue dogs, or dogs other people didn’t want anymore. We have certainly had our fair share of shut down, truely traumatised dogs but Mumma wasn’t one of them. Apparently she had raced herself and then had who knows how many litters. She showed no signs of trauma at all. I don’t agree with greyhound racing at all, I don’t agree with horse racing, trotting or pacing either. In my opinion horse racing is a far more cruel than greyhound racing. Far more human intervention in horse racing. If I had my way all forms of animal exploitation would be shut down. However that isn’t realistic….
Agree 1000%! I believe every would-be parent should own a dog first. And every child should be blessed with the unconditional love that growing up with a dog typically provides. Having them in our lives teaches us so much! 💯👍 From how to be a “good” parent by parenting your fur-baby first to laying the foundations of emotional intelligence in your human children through the development of empathy, kindness & taking responsibility for the well-being of what will very likely become one of the most loving relationships you & them will ever experience (aside from each other hopefully). 🐶♥️

We're glad you rescued Georgia. We've had 39 rescue dogs during our marriage----all dogs no one wanted. The dogs all came with baggage----abuse, hunger, illness, etc. Have patience. Give love.
We rescued a Pitt that was just skin over bones, over two years ago. It’s taken him this long to learn how to be a dog & he’s still learning. He used to be food aggressive but now he can stand beside his sister & wait patiently for his share. It takes love & patience but he’s the most loving & sweet dog.
Years ago I adopted a couple of rescue greyhounds. And I suppose because they are raised away from a human home environment, they are initially quite disoriented, not understanding much of their new surroundings. Coming into my house, the first thing that made them cower was the ceiling fans - _not_ spinning mind you - just the presence of these _things_ on the ceiling. It took quite a few months of patience and constant reassurance, but eventually they came out of their shell to be very loving dogs. The one thing they never got over was the July 4th fireworks noise every year. I always stayed with them, lying next to them, in contact, trying to make them feel secure while they were shaking in fear until it was over. They were a couple of sweet boys and I still miss them.
I had the same with one of my rescue greyhounds, she was absolutely terrified of loud bangs and it was because she'd seen some kennel mates shot when they'd ceased to be useful 😢
My dog also absolutely hates fireworks. I got so mad this year because the neighborhood parties went on for days. She just cowers and shakes the whole time and there is no way to get away from it. I was ready to call the city and ask isn’t there some sort of ordinance or something about fireworks. Like how many days are they allowed to set them off.

@kerrymason609 You have actually seen greyhounds treated badly? Where? Did you report it? Abusing greyhounds is never allowed or tolerated. Greyhounds get the best care every day. An abused greyhound can't race. It's not only impossible but it's not allowed.
@@momtotyThey are abused. They are not considered pets so they don’t have the same protection against animal abuse as pets have. Look up “Coalition for the Protection of Greyhounds” to learn some facts about this “sport”.
Great adoption story. Reading to dogs is a wonderful way to bond. I was already deeply bonded to my JRT, Mr. Smee, but I read to him anyway. His favourite book was The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I'm so saddened to learn that greyhound racing is a growing sport in Australia when other countries, the United States for one, have been working so hard for so long to bring it to an end. It's an incredibly abuse activity, deeply unworthy of the word "sport."
Seeing that sweet child reading to her dog just touched me... When I was in high school, I got a pair of kittens, brother and sister, from free from a neighbor having a garage sale. I was finishing the Harry Potter series at the time. I'm partially blind, so the HP books were absolutely massive, coming in several thick Braille volumes. To unwind and relax, I would read the books aloud to them on the downstairs walk-in basement couch where it was quiet, no dogs. They'd just curl right up. I read to them outside too, sometimes. It was all of the last three books I finished over eleventh and twelfth grade. I have such memories, like when I was reading to them outside and left one volume of Order of the Phoenix out by mistake. It got rained on and pretty soaked, but the Braille dots all survived! Another time, one of the kittens, the boy, piddled on the edge of one volume. Yeah ... I was NOT amused. Our sweet kitty boy is sadly no longer with us, but his sister is almost seventeen and still with us. If I ever read out loud outside, she'll still come up to check it out. Her brother would too, when he was alive, despite them growing up to be naturally outdoor kitties. Now my family has a puddle of poodles. I ought to crack open a book and maybe get my little sister in on reading to them too. It's a lovely thing to do. I was so glad to see the little girl in this video bond with her dog so.
We have greyhounds. They are the most loving dogs that I have ever owned. Well, I think they own us really! Please adopt the retired racing dogs, they have so much lief left in them. our oldest one was 16!

Oh goodness! Your greyhound rescue looks like one I had rescued years ago! Her name was “BoBo” - short for “Someball.” Her dad’s name was “Gameball.” She was also black and white. She had a 3 leaf clover on her bum. The three leaves on her bum - right, left and center, with the stem going down her tail. They are such gracious dogs! And, yes, scared of many household things. Bless you for being caretaker of this sweet soul! 💗
We’ve had our greyhound since about 12 weeks old - she was a rescue and has been the most loving dog I’ve ever known. Like the doggo in the video, our girl thinks she’s a lapdog and curls up with anyone who’ll sit with her. We’ve got three dogs and she’s the first to greet and want to play with any new visitors. I hate imagining other greyhounds being treated badly.
Yeah, Georgia needs a football field to get her zoomies out. But thankfully she's with the right family to sending a message that greyhounds are perfect family dogs. 💕💕
All my kids are rescues. Through out my life I've rescued about 20. I greatly admire you and your daughter for providing a loving forever home. Thank you for sharing! Touched my heart.
Racing greyhounds is now illegal in Florida but, before it disappeared, I knew a family who had adopted several retired racers. They were just wonderful dogs. They so desperately wanted to love and be loved, but they just didn't know how. The transformation is amazing. All the best to your entire family (including Georgia!).
To anyone considering adopting a greyhound......go for it. I adopted two ex racers in England, one from Battersea dogs home in London, and one, 4 yrs later from a racing kennel that was shutting down in Dorset. I can honestly say I never had an issue with either dog. They were both great with kids, horses and other dogs. They are gentle and fun loving and do not need the huge amounts of exercise that everybody thinks they do. Two decent walks a day with a good run is sufficient as you will find most greyhounds in the home are cabbage potatoes and love to curl up and sleep, prefably on a sofa. Mine were both introduced to a cat in our home years later and lived happily with the cat till the day they passed. Please do gauge your greyhound before introducing smaller animals, I knew both of mine would be fine with a cat as they were both so laid back. Mine needed very little medical attention in the years I had them and they were both long lived, 18yrs and 16 yrs respectively. I would always recommend a greyhound to anyone prepared to give them a good home.
I totally agree, its a a bit of a myth that they need loads of exercise. If they want a bit of a run yes, but you don't have to go for long walks all day and every day to keep them happy.
I have always loved greyhounds. They are so beautiful and have a wonderful history of being prized pets. This is such a lovely story. You can truly feel how much Georgia loves your daughter through watching this video.❤️

God bless one & all 😇💙
This is beautiful! Thankfully in the states they have begun shutting down the dog tracks. Some states have banned it and the cruelty has made it not so lucrative. You must be so proud of your daughter for speaking on behalf of the greyhounds.
Have met people who race greyhounds and they were nasty unfeeling cruel people. They had no feelings what so ever for the dogs and if they hadn't won them any prize money after a short period they were "got rid of". And yet I had a friend who adopted three of them, and they were the laziest dogs imaginable they had to be bribed to have a run around and if you spoke nicely to them they might just let you squeeze up on the sofa. I loved them.
I loved watching her run run run!!! Greyhounds running is like poetry in motion. Gorgeous. She's lovely and I'm glad she's decompressing more and more every day. Sometimes it takes years and she's well on her way. Thank you for loving her. I love how greyhounds are leaners, too.

This is a beautiful story only for this single dog and its family. Howerver, there are still all those other dogs tortured for money.
We used to have a whippet. I get it. Kudos to you for giving her a forever home
Greyhound racing in the United States is being phased out. I hope all countries will ban greyhound racing.
Your daughter is a wonderful Ambassador for greyhound rescue!
Thank you for rescuing the beautiful and magnificent Georgia!
🐾💗🌼🐾💗🌼🐾💗🌼🐾
unfortunately australia is dragging their feet
That would mean greyhounds wouldn’t be bred anymore.
@@ferretyluv Many greyhounds are euthanized because they are not pets.
@@hereandthere6001 BS! GAP is very popular here.
@@sharonsolanayes, but they make wonderful pets. As you can see from this video. Beautiful, loyal gentle Dogs. 💝💖💟💗🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
My son’s greyhound was so quiet and self-contained, it was so disconcerting in the beginning. Now he’s aging backwards - very much like a puppy! Goofy and fun.
You daughter touches Georgia so softly and tenderly. Their bond makes me happy. Bravo to your daughter for speaking out for greyhounds.
I loveeeee her! The relationship between the two girls is spectacular! My standard poodle has long long legs like her
That pure joy when she runs on the beach, it's breathtaking to see.
Your daughter is a fabulous and beautiful young lady. She has certainly been pivotal in ensuring your precious pups happiness.
GOD BLESS these people for adopting these beautiful animals!!
GAIA BLESS these people for adopting these beautiful animals!!!
Yes may Pashupati bless these people for adopting the dog. Or maybe Lakshmi? Or maybe another of the thousands of gods out there. I'm sure view blessing people for things like this as a high priority for their godly work.
It's a beautiful thing to see them dogs run because they want to run, not because they're forced to, and she definitely looks like she loves to run. What beautiful interactions between her and your daughter. So sweet to watch.
So wonderful to see Georgia living her best life with a fantastic family 🥰🐶❤️🫶🏼
Georgia is ADORABLE! Bless you for adopting this retired racing greyhound. It's beautiful watching her run for pure joy and seeing her with your daughter.
My wife and I used to rescue Greyhounds. I sure miss those wonderful dogs
The relationship between Georgia and your daughter is an exquisite thing.
Greyhounds are absolute angels on earth, thank you! 😍🙏
Having adopted many greyhounds from a rescue over the years our family knows the greyhound couch sprawl very well.
They are all wonderful!
It makes me so sad to see these lovely dogs treated so badly, your stunning sweet daughter! What a star! They are lucky to have eachother xxx❤xxx
OMG, the daughter is a treasure. What a hero to Georgia and other greyhounds.
Greyhoinds are such sleek and beautiful dogs. I'm so glad you rescued that baby!! She's a beautiful girl!! ❤
What a beautiful sight to see Georgia running free! It reminds me of the speed of a cheetah! Thank you for bringing awareness to people about the treatment of greyhounds! They are so beautiful and deserve all the love!!! ⭐💖🙏
Loved watching her race through the water ❤
Your daughter is an amazing person with a golden heart! Georgie is blessed to have her. The reading part really touched me. ❤❤❤❤
Amazing! I'm so happy seeing your daughter promoting adoption of greyhounds!
Good for you. Keep giving Georgia joy. It brings joy to all who watch this video. And kudos to your daughter for being Georgia's bestie human & for advocating for greyhounds.
Bless you and your daughter for rescuing Georgia I am from Australia myself and I agree with you when it comes to the greyhound racing industry thank you Jess for putting that Awareness out there about the greyhound industry and how greyhounds are treated and thank you Jess and thank you Geobeats for sharing Georgia’s story hopefully this video will inspire more people to adopt Greyhounds and give them a loving home ❤️🐾
You can easily tell by just watching this video that Georgia and your daughter have a very special sister like bond !
Watching a greyhound run free is like nothing else. To me it resembles freedom. ❤
God bless your daughter for her warm and generous heart. She is clearly the center of Georgia's world.
She is almost identical to my Irish Greyhound Fergus. GH are amazing Dogs. Gentle, living, loyal and very sensitive. I love ❤ them all. 😍🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Georgia was put up for adoption because she had slowed down. Now it looks like she is running faster than ever, but on her terms!!!! 🐕
She sings so purdy.
Thank you for your family's work on behalf of Georgia and all racing greyhounds!
All my kids are rescues. Through out my life I've rescued about 20. I greatly admire you and your daughter for providing a loving forever home. Thank you for sharing! Touched my heart.
🤧 aww she's so gorgeous, bless you for adopting her, and giving her a great forever home, cracking good video thanks for sharing 🖤😎👍
They are really amazing dogs once they get adjusted. You'll never find a more loving and loyal companion.❤
Beautiful story! No animal should ever be considered livestock. Your daughter is going to do something great for animals someday.
I have always loved greyhounds. They are so beautiful and have a wonderful history of being prized pets. This is such a lovely story. You can truly feel how much Georgia loves your daughter through watching this video.❤️
Seeing Georgia run made me laugh! Her running is an expression of pure joy! You are so lucky to have her in your life and I see your daughter has this special touch. She is so gentle with Georgia. Many happy years for your beautiful family!😀
Came across alot of race dogs discarded then adopted in my time. They are beautiful and Georgia is a class act.
Bravo.......❤️❤️
She hit the jackpot with this living family! 🐾❤️
That is absolutely adorable seeing the wonderful relationship between your family and that lovely dog!
Beautiful spirits Georgia & your daughter have 🙏 Its strange to see Greyhound racing becoming more popular there in Australia while here in my home state of Florida ending Greyhound racing for good came up on the ballot a few years ago & was passed! 🐕 My mother (God rest her soul) & I were so happy their time as money makers for betting was over! 👎It is my hope & prayer that all the dogs waiting for homes find them & that some day the dog racing will end there too. God bless one & all 😇💙
I had a rescue greyhound. He had a very long racing career. He was such a silly, goofy, sweet boy. He died at age 9, which shocked us. I miss him.
What's that got to do with Greyhounds.
@@phoenixrising5088 this is a post about greyhounds. Do you not understand what you just watched?
Thankyou , your daughter is so kind and patient.
I loved watching her run run run!!! Greyhounds running is like poetry in motion. Gorgeous. She's lovely and I'm glad she's decompressing more and more every day. Sometimes it takes years and she's well on her way. Thank you for loving her. I love how greyhounds are leaners, too.
It’s heart warming to see this dog bonding with the little girl
So beautiful to see Georgia sing and the love she has with your daughter ❤🥰😍
That's a winning photo at 3:16, the way Georgia is leaning into your daughter, and she's leaning into Georgia. 🥰
Seeing Georgia and your daughter made my heart grow two times bigger. What an amazing bond between the two. Thank you.
Thank you for rehoming her! What a beautiful relationship between Georgia and your daughter! Love from Melbourne x
The ocean is sooo beautiful where you are and Georgia is especially beautiful! Fast as the wind and absolutely precious in her rainbow sleeper!💞🐾
Mesmerizing to watch her run...❤
Your daughter is such a gentle, loving soul, the perfect companion for Georgia.
This brought a tear. Actually, quite a few. The love of a dog is a gift that can never be earned, but only a rare few know how to accept it.
Gorgeous dog and such a sweet family
THANK YOU for rescuing this sweet animal. May you enjoy many loving years together.
You folks are wonderful. ❤
The way your daughter gently caresses Georgia is so touching. ❤❤❤❤❤
Very many thanks. These hounds need the love the deserve.
Your daughter is amazing and you should be so proud of her. The dog gave her a purpose in life.
Such a beautiful story. Your daughter is quite a kind and loving soul.
So happy Georgia is living life as she was meant to do. Thankful she received a second chance for happiness & love 💗 I pray dog racing will soon end forever
