They are all so fascinating to watch, with their different characters! You are so calm with them, and you can see all the greys love you. My black rescue greyhound Madge always wants to lick visitors to bits when they come to the front door, as her welcoming gambit! I would love to have another greyhound to keep Madge company, but I really do not have the room here, and no garden, although we live in a very rural spot, in West Devon, England, with no passing traffic. I take her out for walks about 4/5 times a day. Madge had the racing name Devils Magic, and she raced at Poole racetrack, in England, until she was rescued, and it is her 7th Birthday today - the 20th March, 2024! I have had her for 4 years now. Blessings and love to you and all your greyhounds, for Jilly & Madge. xxx
At one time, my wife and I had ten greys in the house. Not a big deal since they are pretty much couch potatoes. The only time that was challenging was when people came to the house. ALL of the dogs wanted to be the first to kiss them to death! Awesome dogs.
I've been missing my late greyhound like crazy so seeing your guys was such a treat. Made me smile so much. Thank you for posting. Greyhounds are the most wonderful creatures ever. ❤❤❤❤❤
So glad I'm not the only person who makes her bed because her greyhound likes to sleep on it! He objects if it's rumpled in any way when he jumps up. Not a princess at all, nooooo. I live in north Queenland, Australia, in a warm tropical climate very much like yours, and I too entertain visiting greys when their people need to go away, but I've had three max, mainly because my house is small and I don't have the floor space for more. I've started a social group for local greys and their Staff, and we have coffee and walks once a month. My grey, Mouse, has his own blog, where he writes about travel, eating out, the shortcomings of his Staff, new toys or equipment, etc. His tone can be quite snarky and he complains that I don't type fast enough when he's dictating!
One of the most beautiful dog breeds ever. Particularly as a Pet. Thank You for what you do and the passion you do it with. New subscriber, so will do a bit of a catch-up. 🦴🐶🏡🇦🇺💗🐾What a kind and wonderful person you are. 👏👏
@@GetFukt33 that is what they say about Dobermans and they are supposed to be made from Greyhounds, I notice it with my Dobies. We have six so they alternate nights in our bed and they know when it is their night and do not like to be thrown off.
6:08 dog TV! That's so funny. Every dog loves to watch the world go by at the window. The elevated food and water bowls using a 5 gal bucket is a clever design. May have to use that.
I thought it was hard to work in the day with two needy greyhounds - you definitely had your work cut out here! Never enough pairs of hands 😁. I wanted to thank you for showing what sleep startle is like, because when we first got our girl greyhound, we were kind of confused at how she could seem totally awake and yet still be barking/growling/snapping. It just takes them some time to wake fully and for 'omg humans mean fuss and treats!' to come online, I guess. There's still times our girl will wake, get up on the bed, and yet still borksnap if we touch her or move too much for her liking. We've just gotten used to living with it now, but for people who aren't used to it it can seem really scary I guess, especially as greyhounds are quite big dogs.
Love this. We also have a greyhound. Had two but one passed away suddenly in November 😞. We dog sit greyhounds regularly and have fostered over 50 greyhounds in the past 7 years. Love this breed
What a super person you are. I had 11 Sighthounds at one point. My one pure grey was Gentle Jill she lived to 18. They are so so beautiful. Thank you for caring and sharing.
we have six Dobermans and I have always heard they have a lot of greyhound in them and after watching this video, I am convinced. Two of ours could practically be greyhounds. If you see Dobie with no ears cropped or tail docked, you can see this even more. I see it in the personality/mannerisms, too.
I think so too. I have a doberman pit mix and she is everything people describe greyhounds to be. She looks very much like a grey hound and doberman. She does like to guard and bark a little when she sees other dogs walking past our house but no excessively. She's very calm and sweet natured but loves to go on runs through the yard and back to being calm after she's done.
I owned a shepherd/greyhound mix. She was brindle in color. Ears that flopped like a greyhound and that high belly! My goodness she was so fast when she ran, she would trip over her shepherd feet. She was loving and funny. My first of many rescues.
Mesmerizing dogs..seen some years ago at the farmers market in Puyallup Washington, and they had some gorgeous ones that used to be racers, and I would just sit and look at them and at the time I did not have a dog. I really thought about in the future adopting one and then later on my daughter knew how much I loved those type of look of dogs whether it be a Chihuahua or a greyhound. My daughter knew of a lil Chi pup of an older friend. That was it❤️
Thank you for such a fun video. Greyhounds are the BEST!! I only have one. Striker will be 13 years next month, and have had him two years. Greyhounds are so polite, calm and loving. Enjoy your greyt air b&b❤❤❤❤from Jean
oh what a pleasure to come across your video! Always drawn to sight hounds for their beauty, grace and sweetness. The true gentlemen and ladies of the dog world.
They are so sweet and so well behaved. Those owners are so blessed to have you care for their grey hounds, love the breed. We have our second one and couldn’t be more in love.great job👏👏
Such affectionate and beautiful dogs. I've never been around Greyhounds so this was a good primer on what they are like. Our 30# rescue dog is 15 years old so she mostly sleeps through the day and can't go on long walks anymore. Thanks for sharing your dog day.
You are so organized and calm, you literally make looking after 4 large dogs look like a walk in the park! I loved the Rooing! 🥰😂🥰 What a hoot. Good luck to you in all your endeavors 💕👏💕👏💕
What a Greyt video thank you so much for making it. We are from the state of Victoria in Australia which I believe is about the last bastion in the world for legal Greyhound racing so there's lots of retired grey's here that need love, beds and couches, we wish we could accommodate them all. We love all your videos and have spent quite some time with our Floridian friend traveling throughout Florida on several occasions and love the US. Tomorrow I am going to cast this video to our TV for my wife to watch while our Greyhound 'Yankee' is asleep on the couch and see how he responds to all that rooing :)
wow, I'm from Tallahassee and we have 4 greyhounds. Chuck, Koffie, Sherrie, and Tarah. They are all retired racers from Florida. We now live in the Shenandoah mountains in Virginia. Never a dull moment. I do like the fact that they like to sleep a lot.
I currently have an iggy but dream of adopting a big greyhound some day ☺️ these videos are so fun and educational and I love living vicariously through them! Thank you for all your greyhound videos - they’re wonderful to refer to when it comes to greyhound information
They look like they’re sweet doggos. I grew with German Shepards, but after spending some time with my friend’s greyhound, I think I’m gonna adopt a retired racer.
These dogs are great - with their size they're still "not in the way" all the time - except Link wanting all the love and cuddles (who could say no to that look at 17:25)... I couldn't take care of Greyhounds because I work 8 hours at 5 days a week and I live in a small single apartement. It would be torture for them...
Great video Steph, I'm learning every day more about Greyhounds & how they behave & react. My new fur baby Jax is real[y chilled also, loves his tucker, his walks, his bed & all of the attention that comes his way. Looking forward too more updates & videos... Maureen, South Australia
I just stumbled upon this video. I had completely forgotten about all the Greyhounds we had back in the ‘90s when we had our little boutique farm. My tan one was Celica, we had a few brindles, Ralph looked like your Link. It brings tears to my eyes remembering each of them. We lived near the track in LaMarque, TX. Had so many fosters, too.
Wonderful video about greyhounds such incredible dogs and so good that they have a great home and family to live with for a long time so much love between you and the dogs ❤❤❤❤❤
They're so funny. My guy literally follows me every step, all day, while I'm working. Which honestly gets to be a bit much sometimes. But then at night when I could actually use the company, that's the one time he goes in the other room and hides. lol
That looks like great fun! And sooo much cheese... OH MY I bet they had such loose stool! You probably needed to hose down the pebbles in the yard. But none seemed to have any food aggression or were possessive over any toys. It probably helps thay get to see them all the time across the street. Good job! And thanks for sharing this video. ❤❤❤❤
Great to see you caring for our 4legged fur babies. I've had anywhere from 2-5 Basenjis over many years. One of our BRAT members has a few adobted Greyhounds along with Basenjis. Keep up the love. Oh and Snow Boarding is sooo much cooler than skiing, lol jk.
Beautiful dogs, great temperament. My experiences with greyhounds and whippets are very nervous critters which does get them an undeserved reputation until you earn their trust.
I had 13 greyhounds and not one of them barked at the doorbell! Only one of them ever barked more than once in a year. I did have 4 of them concurrently a couple times. I was walking 4 of them in a nearby neighborhood in NE Ohio when I ran across a couple walking 4 more greyhounds! That was pretty random. I had 12 of those dog beds scattered across the house.
I just found your channel and honestly this video made me miss owning greyhounds so much. Over the years I have had 9 (including 4 at one time) but I am currently without one. However I am now reconsidering 🙂
So soulful and gorgeous. Tan ones remind me believe it or not of my 12 year old tan chihuahua Sophia..Mannerisms and look. Face. Maneuvering of blankets and a certain beauty and look in their eyes.❤️
Steph, I used to have three. I remember one night I was babysitting (overnight) another 4 including a pup. Yep, seven greys. I also had a border collie and heeler at that time. LOL
Once they find something "interesting" somewhere, it has to be constantly mine found burnt sausages, burgers and some baked beans by a tree in the forest on a walk. They would always try to drag me to the magic food tree.
My greyhound's day: Eat, pee, sleep, repeat. Some AM barking, no rooing ever, much waving of legs in the air to request belly rub. Ride in the car?!! Meals must be served on time. That's it. Such funny dogs.

Love, love, love this breed….lost both of mine within 6 months….too, too old to get more..so i just watch videos….they fill my heart and make laugh.

The four of them staring out the window, precious..
They're such gentle dogs. Even my dog phobic mom likes my greyhounds.
My good friend is terrified of big dogs. She met our herd of 3 and LOVED them! ❤❤❤
Our 3 greyhounds started ROOING while we were watching your video!! ❤️🐾❤️🐾
I love when dogs go crazy when you grab the leash.😊
I myself have 4 retired racers and I find them to be the best dogs ever!
Yes! What are their ages?
I am a first timer and enjoyed your video. It was calm, heartwarming, and had 4 dogs! I like your style. You talk just the right amount.
This video story is so beautifully relaxing Steph! I watch it, a lot!🐾🌺🐾🌺🐾🌺🐾🌺
