Gawd Dayam Dru Boogie is nice! I don't see it mentioned yet so I will... Dru is the one who turned this Grey Wolf impromptu A Capella verse into a great song clip with a little mix-magic. They tried to get Wolf into the studio to complete this song but they couldn't recapture the vocal excellence of the day and gave up. They really should find someone with a similar vocal inflection, flesh out the lyrics and finish this potential masterpiece.
Been awhile since I revisited this video. I think Dru Boogie's real name is Danny Ross right? And yes it's a huge failure on my part not to credit him, he did amazing work on the O&A show as well as working with Patrice O'Neal on the Black Phillip show. Man I miss those days.
I completely understand brother. Patrice was such an incredible force for good, without even trying to be. I don't even know how to process his death. It is insurmountable. I adore every moment of ever show. Never forget x
@@matthale5526as my listenin choice im listenin to the old o&a&P shows in london now dec21. Really enjoy. The shows are so NOT woke. Just dont get anything that comes even close to it today. Opie and Anthony were really good to these guys. Sure they poked fun at them but the homeless knew it was all in good fun and they were helped out quite a bit by the boys. I miss Opie and Anthony, best years of my life listening to them.
Amazing that a homeless man singing about another homeless man can have more emotional impact than anything the music industry or Hollywood has produced for over two decades. This and Mustard's singing are just spectacular moments that can never be re-created.
Man listening to this audio with Patrice makes me wanna cry. Seeing video of Tom with this song hurts, Im only 30 but I grew up knowing all the alcoholic bums in my city as a kid, and they're all dead now...
Im going through a tough time at the moment. I dont know how this is gonna sound but somehow I feel like I needed to find this guys song. Its so comforting. I feel like the weight has been lifted from my shoulders a bit.
Keep strong bro, whatever's trying to pull you down you can fight it. Even if it's worse tomorrow, there's always another tomorrow as long as you keep fighting.
I've been looking for this for years, i couldn't remember his name and searching for a homeless singer from Opie and Anthony only brings up homeless mustard. This is awesome. Thanks.
I first hears this live on Opie and Anthony...It chilled me...because Grey Wolf didn't write a second verse, It wasn't released as a record...but this version just repeated the first verse (something many songs do...think of "Holiday Road")...this should have been a major hit...it just didn't get enough exposure...
1:00 - ‘and he said, “don’t you know I have a … and he said that …”. Does anyone know what he says here where I’ve dotted it? Sure it’s something obvious but I just can’t make it out
He says Angel. "Don't you know I have an angel?" "And that Angel Shelter me from the pouring rain" They covered the lyrics in an OnA episode with Patrice. I don't recall which episode unfortunately to reference
No. Only thing I did was looped it once because the original was too short. If I remember right a guy by the name of Drew Boogie (stage name I guess) mixed it for Opie and Anthony.

It wouldn't be the same without it being an actual homeless guy

Patrice o'neal- " Hey you smell bad, get out of here.. The realness of that kills me"
Man, how Patrice said he could almost cry hearing that song affected me. So much emotion in such a tiny song
Maybe because the week before they had a homeless man that smelled horrible and revolved the whole bit around it lol
I miss Patrice
I'm drunk and sad. R.i.p. Patrice and Tommy
I get sad when I play this as well. Wish I had more to offer as a tribute.

Yes Patrice was great etc etc, but Tippy Tom deserves the credit for the sounds on this video
My bro has been homeless for decades. Some people just won't come in out of the rain. Ever. Song kills me every time.

It has to do with the fact that this is authentic and we live in a fake world nowadays no one even says how they truly feel anymore

This is better than 90% of the music "topping the charts" today. And yeah I searched for this due to O&A.

real men cry to this shit
True that !
Just discovered this song it's going on my forever playlist...
honestly opie usually sucks but his “oh this is nice” ad lib on this song is fire asf. and it was from the Patrice reaction too. what a classic mix
Whatever happened to Grey Wolf? I miss O&A, especially Patrice.
If I remember correctly, they tried getting him in to do a second verse and he couldn’t deliver? Ugh, it’s been like 15 years now
I love this about 90% as much as Patrice used to, and about half as much as I love Black Phillip himself
This is my life. Thanks Grey wolf
R.I.P. Patrice
rip Tippy! great song. just amazing.
This chokes me up still. I wonder where Grey Wolf ended up. I’d kill for the rest of the song.

l like it even more than, Down in a Hole by Alice in Chains... just wish it was longer.
RIP TIPPY. IMA TIP ONE OUT FOR TIPPY TONIGHT
With a little polish, this song could of been huge.
I agree. That's why I uploaded it. Even though it's raw, it's still such a great melody and so full of emotion. I never get tired of it.
Wish someone would do that. Tippy Tom was a great dude and this really DOES have the potential.
Dude, it's already perfect
in the words of a captain "VIRAL"
Someone should put it in a movie. I could see this as an end credits song

It actually comes from the Caddyshack movie. Rodney Dangerfield says it.
