    Excellent vlog Gary and good luck with the training and the podcast. I am In the 50 again next year. Picked up some great kit on the back of the podcasts so will be interesting to see if the leki poles make a difference to my pace.

    Fellow L100 runner here. Liking your series so far and interested in your progress and your Garmin stats. Out of interest I’d be interested in the vo2 max rating from your watch, I can’t seem to increase mine possibly because of climb and running offroad. Not sure weight in lbs works for UK followers, kg or good old stones is good 👍 keep up the good work 😀

    • @teaandtrails
      @teaandtrails  2 года назад

      Thanks Martin, That's interesting re stones, lbs or KG. My Garmin VO2 is 62 or 61. It fluctuates between the two. That is way too high though. I think based on my race times it should be more like 54...

    Great video thanks Gary. The Garmin update is a weird one, since the update I've lost a minute off my theoretical 5k pace, probably best to not concentrate on it too much.

    • @teaandtrails

      Yeah, it’s crazy! Mine adjusted again yesterday… not looked at my predicted times 🫣

      @@teaandtrails I recorded 190 BPM in a activity a couple of weeks before the update, it now says my max is 184. I'd definitely take it with a pinch of salt.

    Nice one Gary, really enjoying this series. What are you using for generating your sessions you had an interval wo2d2b, just wondering are you using an app or software?

    • @teaandtrails
      @teaandtrails  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Richard, I use an advanced marathon plan from Garmin connect. I modify it a bit, but only for the long hilly runs. Workouts go to my watch so really easy to follow 👍🏻

    Yo Gary great video. I’m really inspired by you as we are similar in age. I got in a 26km long run and then decided to run a quick 12 km a couple days later. Today we did a big climb. Trail marathon in less than a month. Feeling good. I did a video after our climb today with Poppy & Rupert (they say hi to Rex). Also trying to be consistent with strava but forgot the Garmin today! (Mookie Taylor). Love your content. Think I’ll even buy u a coffee!
