What's the least training you can get away with for a 100 mile ultra marathon in the mountains?

This was fabulous! I took away so much, but the big one was when he was talking about why a big effort before a race might not be worth it... "taking 4 weeks off training for the sake of 1 day running". 🤯 That will make me reevaluate my race schedule tonight! Looking forward to following your training!

Yes! Mind blown! What a good chat with Tim! That was my main takeaway too :)

Thank you for this interview Claire . Tim Pigott is a solid coach and a good runner . It is really good to get advice directly from him . Well done both.

I know it is an old video but I throw my two cents in case anybody wants it. I was told by the time you’re in the third period of your training you know if it’s like so many weeks the last third of it do you want to be at really 30 miles on a weekend so if you can get your violin stay up to 10 miles on a Saturday and Sunday you’re planning on going for a hike, your 10 miles if you’re doing another run on Sunday 10 miles or two runs in a day and what I was told is don’t go over 30 when you’re in that section unless every once in a while and try to get 30 in the weekend as a tuneup race I did a really a 12 hour, but I left after I diddoing 100 K in a month about a month and a half before my mount is hundred miles and that’s my coach told me it just all these things and need to find out you’ll get through. It won’t be that bad you might do it, but that’s his rule not in the beginning but the last six.

Just wondering if you got one of the Anti gravity devices for the tredmil? Or what was the actual name of it , couldn't find one anywhere 🤔

I think you have to go to a gym that has them, here is more about them, hope that helps! alterg.com/
