Fantastic video, well put together with a great soundtrack! I completed this in 2022, didn’t get round last year and going again for it this year to make the score 2 - 1!
You’ve made me even more determined than ever to make sure I get round this year!
Cheers!
Did you manage get it ticked this year? How’s it go?
Great effort. I struggled a lot in that race. Looks like you were relatively comfortable most of the way.
Thanks! It was tough and I certainly struggled in the early hours keeping food down but pushed through. I guess I should’ve filmed that part was well! 😜
Well done on the completion. We didn't quite make it 65% this year, maybe next year...
I know and after the race brief speech I was optimistic! Tough route that but wouldn’t change it. You really have to earn a finish on the Lakeland100 👍
Legend! Thanks for filming, helps us all recce the route from our comfy sofa.
Happy to help! Next time I’ll be sure to capture the weather as well! 😉
Incredible achievement Francois. What a lovely atmosphere at Ambleside which I know from competing the Windermere Marathon. Your filming and music really captured the attention - fabulous! 🏃🏻♂️💥👊
Francois, congratulations and thank you for the awesome filming, editing and storytelling. Beautiful and rugged. And thanks for including the metrics, including that even the best-trained and experienced ultra runners may leave some food at the side of the trail.
Well done Francois, looks like an epic route!
Very well done, I’m running the new 7 valleys ultra 70 miles through the Lakes in September and this video is an inspiration 👍🏻
Soo want to run this race next year I hope I can get a place
Thanks for a great video
Best of luck on the 7 valleys, sounds equally as challenging! Best of luck in the ballot. Thanks for the support 👍
@@CotswoldTrailRunner thanks. And you’re welcome

times i puked? really??? damn....
😂 yeah really, I think it’s more common than most think. Gotta ride that nausea train!
Well done Sir. Only puked 4 times?? Good stuff!!
Outstanding effort. Looks awesome 💯 👍🙂
could see my house on the drone shot of coniston!
Amazing video my friend❤
Well done Francois I completed my 7th Lakeland 50 and that alone was hard work! I have tried the 100 twice but it has been out of my league! Next year going to do the Chester 100! Not as extreme as the Lakeland 100 but just to give me a benchmark to see if I can do the distance 😁
Congrats on 7 x 50milers in the Lakes! That's a huge achievement in itself. Best of luck with the Chester 100, I'm sure you'll revisit the LL100 one day and get it done.
This is epic!
Absolutely mind blowing! Huge kudos to you Francois!!! Truly inspiring mate! Maybe one day I will be able to give one of the Lakeland races a go. Stunning scenery and great support throughout. Big congrats on the finish mate! 👏🏅😎🤘
Wow Francois, simply epic! That's motivated me to get out the house this morning and do those dreaded, but oh so good hill repeats up to Cleeve hill this morning! Hoping to see you at Chipping Camden at CWC on September, but judging by your fitness that's the last time I'll see you 😉
Do it! Cleeve hill is great for hill reps. Make a playlist, get it loud and get on with it. It’ll make such a difference! Come find me on the start line, it’s going to be a good race 👍
@@CotswoldTrailRunnerDone!
Awesome! 👍
but what are miles and feet? 🤔
😂 Fair enough, watch out for my next 💯 miler race vlog in September where I’ll make sure to do Km and M 👍
Congratulations on your 100 finish.
We clapped you in to Ambleside was a great atmosphere, we made it into you film. Haha.
Brilliant effort 🏃♂️💪🏃♂️
Ambleside support was amongst the best and at nearly 90miles in very much needed! Loved it! Thank you for the cheers!
Great video Francois & congrats on a great time. I chatted to you somewhere around Kentmere & you were going well then. Starting to fancy the 100 myself now!
Evidently, not many people can do that. Never doubted you though mate. Well done! 👍🏻🏃♂️
Great run congratulations on an awesome achievement!! Nice video too - I enjoyed the additional talking and reflection you added, but the views were stunning 👌
Amazing effort and great filming….. as a 50 finisher I doff my cap and salute 🫡 you…. I described the 50 to my wife as beautiful but brutal, I cannot imagine the effort and mental strength required to do the 100 💪
Bloody brilliant!!! Both the video and completing that epic challenge!! It is sooo incredible Francois. Love you xxx
Enjoyed that, very well done indeed. Great time too 👍
Congratulations Francois. Huge achievement!
Great stuff. Would love to know more about it. Well done. 👍👍
Yo dude...this was great to watch. I'm on the West Coast of Canada and super interested in this event. It looks amazing. Unreal only approx 1/2 the people complete it...and 4 pukes! I really admire people like you that record it all too while dealing with the physical and mental challenges. Thumbed ya up and subbed to you. Hope you're recovering well the last week or so. Peace!
Hey there! Cheers for the awesome support! If you ever visit, you should definitely give it a go!
Congratulations, smashed it!
Fantastic effort Francois, amazing stuff well done!!! Another great video, it's always great when I see you've posted a new adventure for us to come along with you on. Keep up the excellent work. Cheers!
Thank you very much for your support! I have been slacking recently (videos not training), but plan on fully sharing the Cotswold Way 100 in September and the journey for that race.
Amazing effort, got emotional seeing you finish! What a positive atmosphere. Just started running again myself but would love to be somewhere near this ability one day!
Thanks for watching! Use this as motivation and I'm sure you'll get there! Slow and steady, build your base mileage and then go for it!
Nice one, congrats on an epic run 👏👏👏
Awesome achievement. Awesome.
That's great, uve only done a few 50s, but that brough back some memories.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed. Have I convinced you to go for the 100? 😝
Wow, epic Francois. What a race and what an amazing challenge. Great that you were confident of a finish throughout and that is a testament to your training and focus. Massive congrats 🎉 How was navigation on the course? Did you use the GPX to know where to go?
Thanks Ben. The training did pay off and that’s motivational in itself. Navigation was ok in general. Although I had gpx I only had to use it for the first night really as the 100 runners spread out and some of the mountain passes were features less in the rain and dark. By the time we were over halfway the 50 runners overtaking led the way! 👍
