My favorite part is when the guy turns around, and his coworker that transformed is standing in the doorway, and the climax is that he's all like "SUP?KBYE" then books it out of there.
Michael Caridi the face on that thing literally haunted my dreams for years. So much so that I went on an hours long internet search to find this video again.
People who say "This should be a movie/series because it's so awesome" are the kind of folks who, really enjoying a public speaker, push them to run for president. Without regard to his politics, that's how Dr. Ben Carson got into the primaries. (Hey Ben, superb neurosurgering, great debating, horrible campaigning.).
和ァ独 Public Service Announcement. Basically, if you watch to the end, you'll see that it says something or another about buying legitamite medication instead of bootleg stuff. A lot of people are annoyed (for some reason) that this is basically a commercial instead of an "actual short film." I personally don't care.
Jacob Lucas Ah, thanks for explaining. I didn't have that feeling either. I just think it was a political statement. But the short is amazing either way.
The British police must hate those special forces dudes. While those have state of the art equipment and freaking self-opening visors, the poor guys still have to be content driving their shitty Camrys around. Come on, future Britain, get your shit together XD
Past 6:46 doesn't ruin anything, guys. It might make you roll your eyes depending on your views, but I don't think it ruins anything. I'd still like to see a longer version of this with a few adjustments. Though with the quote at the start I thought this was going to be more about Hell, etc.
I still cannot tell for certain if there are three seperate monsters or if two of them are the same guy in different stages of his transformation. So far as I can tell there's the one with no eyes, clearly separate to the rest. Then there's Martin Wiseman, who becomes the twelve foot tall loping beast. But what of the third, the one with the sharp teeth and bendy neck that does all the screaming during the flashes we see of him? Is this creature just Martin Wiseman in an earlier stage of transformation, before his limbs lengthened? Or is he a completely different person whose story we didn't see? The shape of their heads is so similar, the only thing I have to go on is that he has sharp pointy teeth wheras Wiseman has perfectly even flat teeth. Makes me wish we'd seen the story behind the third creature... and yet... glad we didn't. He's by far the most terrifying of them all. That scream, those eyes, that mouth... If I think about it before I go out alone at night it fills me with dread.
Why? You don't want people to know the truth? And the text after 6:46 is the truth. Neither I nor the film makers are saying that it will cause what is shown in the film, but it is true that people are purchasing a lot of medicines from online unregulated sources. So I say watch to the end. Gather all the information you can. Knowledge is power.
@@bethrickson6930 to keep people from realizing that what looks like an inspired short film is just cheap scare tactics by pharmaceutical lobbies seeking to regulate smaller competitors out of business.
@Chris Delzell I'm no fan of big pharma, but I do think that they have a better handle on research than most if not all of these smaller companies. Scare tactics? I disagree. I think it is just showing what can happen when proper precautions are not taken in the development of pharmaceuticals.
Why are people complaining about the slides at the end? This is stuff people need to know! Plus, even if you are a conspiracy theorist that thinks pharmaceutical companies are evil, the film was brilliant anyway.
[No spoilers] Okay, for anybody wondering what happens after 6:46, it is simply a text crawl, not any additional footage. I don't think it ruins the movie. It's almost like watching the directors commentary, where he tells you "what the movie was about, in case you didn't notice," and it gets a little preachy. Nothing more. You don't gain anything from watching it, but it probably wont ruin the film for you.
Wow Cracked, I was expecting something really bad. The ending didn't ruin it, only lessened its impact. I'd still want to see a longer feature detailing more of the story.
This sets up a great universe. I would love to see a short film or mini series based on this, but the handholding and heavy-handed message at the end tranquilized the mood. It pulled me out of an experience that was slow, but otherwise methodical and satisfying. Despite this, I am sadden this hasn't gotten more exposure. I would love to see more. Just... hold off on the PSA messages. Subtext is all you need.
Great point! Somewhere along the line every movie monster, creature, animal or alien has to be accompanied by a bobcat shriek. Even inanimate impending doom can have the banshee noise--such as quickly advancing fingers of ice or electricity going out in a house.
I promise I'll watch tomorrow. It's just 2 in the morning right now, I'm in a new apartment alone for the first time and that opening scene was just BALL TIGHTENINGLY CREEPY.
I watched the entire film...now that committees and political parties have failed to prevent uncontrolled overregulation, it is time to focus on suspending the EU Commission and finding ways to prevent that things like this could happen somewhere in Europe in the near future. It is my sincere hope that this movie is 100 per cent sci - fi...
This short is excellent if you watch it to 6:46, stop watching it, then watch the PSA at the end separately. Then you have totally unrelated movies, one that's an interesting sci-fi short, and the other that's an interesting PSA.
Visually I think this is quite nice. The plot seemed like a good introduction into a different universe where there is advanced tech, special forces, and old men who are oddly unimpressed by extraordinarily mutated humans. I'm kind of curious as to what else goes down in this world.
No! NOOOOO!! Look, mate, this isn't SCP at all. No part of the acronym 'SCP' means 'Informative Slideshows.' The better part of it is left up to the imagination. This film was GREAT because it felt so SCP like until the ending slides. It was a formal report to a shadow government organization from an even shadowy-er group basically saying, "Some unlicensed providers found out how to make something really, REALLY nasty, but we've got it under control. You don't want to ask questions."
Oh man I loved this short when it came out. If I recall it was longer but the makers pulled it for a shorter edit as they were making a feature length out of it?.. or something?.. what ever happened with that?
The end slides didn't "ruin" the film, no. They did however take a rather interesting short and turn it into hamfisted propaganda. The film, when taken as a standalone, is still pretty awesome though.
Kind of similar to the premise of Blassreiter in some ways. Could make for an interesting movie if fleshed out more, and provided they leave the big anvil undropped.
Think all of it worked well. Point was to explain the potential negative effects of taking non-approved drugs and it did that in a stylish and interesting way! The follow up was to engrain that point, rather than making it a pointless horror short. I like the fact it had a purpose!
Cracked was right. It doesnt really ruin it watching past 6:45 but it is like a illusionist that performs an illusion and then explains how it is done. It ruins the mystery so carefully crafted.
I don't understand how anything is ruined; to me, there was no mystery in the first place. I think the last part of the video was unnecessary only because it was boring and needless, not because it ruined anything.
I wholeheartedly agree with the ending and support the message...but I think it takes away from one of the most thrilling and intriguing short films I've ever come across.
It was actually showcasing a real-world problem, the point of the short film was likely to bring awareness to it. Honestly I don't see an issue with it, after all would people really... Truly want a real life Umbrella Corporation on their hands?
I respectfully disagree. The ending slides did not ruin the film for me, and I could not understand why the reviewer at Cracked felt they ruined the film.
I watched the whole thing. I don't know what the big deal is. Maybe you should watch it as the the director intended on not based on some internet writers opinion.
It's because the movie is actually pretty solid but at the end it turns out to be a PSA about ''ONLY TAKE LICENSED MEDS M'KAY OR ELSE YOU WILL BECOME A CREEPY MONSTER''
Congratulations pharmaceutical companies for financing a film that scares the crap out of me. I swear I will never buy the cheap alternatives. I promise. Please don't turn me into slenderman.
So I get what this is about, but I don't entirely understand the setting in which the bigwigs are talking about all the events in past tense. Is it like a legal deposition before a trial, or what?
I kept going and perhaps I'm just not a huge movie buff or something..but someone please tell what the fuck is wrong with watching the rest of this short! I mean really. All the ending is saying is that this virus or whatever is spreading or something...If anything if you kept watching it, it brought thoughts up of an apocalyptic event that may transpire due to these outbreaks. Eventually we would have yet again another awesome kickass movie about weird creatures that attack the human race.
I just...I can't get over how *good* this is. I want this to be a film, or a television serial, so badly!
*This* is what Kickstarter should be for!
My favorite part is when the guy turns around, and his coworker that transformed is standing in the doorway, and the climax is that he's all like "SUP?KBYE" then books it out of there.
Lol i know
Michael Caridi the face on that thing literally haunted my dreams for years. So much so that I went on an hours long internet search to find this video again.
To turn this into a movie would be a disaster. This is brilliant as it is.
Yea, because Hollywood screws up everything
4:55 I nearly shat myself. That. That right there. That is Alien-level Horror right there.
I don't mind the PSA at all. I think it's pretty funny that they're saying "Buy legit meds or turn into a Foot Monster."
Jacob Lucas What does PSA stand for?
和ァ独 Public Service Announcement. Basically, if you watch to the end, you'll see that it says something or another about buying legitamite medication instead of bootleg stuff. Lmao

I want armor like that. Splendid graphics for a fan film. This deserves a thumbs-up.

4:59... I can imagine the poor guy's reaction. He probably shat is pants.
Yeah, the director needs to put up a kickstarter to fund this as a movie project, it'd be one hell of a full length film
Corrsection. This deserves a thumbs-up from all who watch this.
I have been looking for this short for years! I saw it back when it came out and was almost convinced I had dreamt it.
The Gate (For the Love of God, Stop Watching at 6:46)

LOVED the special FX!

i want a whole movie on this!
4:58 Somehow, the fact that he just runs away instead of actually doing anything makes this way, way scarier.
It is not simply a short film.
It's a BRUTALLY HORROR (short) film.
Stuff after 6:46 isn't anything groundbreakingly awful, it just clarifies the pretty obvious message of the piece for those who'd somehow missed it.
This sets up a great universe. I would love to see a short film or mini series based on this, but the handholding and heavy-handed message at the end tranquilized the mood. Anyone else think of Wildmutt at 2:16?
best part is at 5:00
+bachterman Very surreal! I actually love how it simply runs away. No loud sounds for jump-scares, only a heartbeat.
Great point! Somewhere along the line every movie monster, creature, animal or alien has to be accompanied by a bobcat shriek. Even inanimate impending doom can have the banshee noise--such as quickly advancing fingers of ice or electricity going out in a house.
Flamethrower behemoth was pretty awesome but it was the horse thing on the road at night that always freaked me out.
Excellent. Job well done!!!
Interesting. Well Done.
You have the Hook, now where's the Movie?👌👍
I didn't even care about the post-6:46 part. Weird message, yeah, but it hardly ruins the whole thing
I promise I'll watch tomorrow. It's just 2 in the morning right now, I'm in a new apartment alone for the first time and that opening scene was just BALL TIGHTENINGLY CREEPY.
Awesome film😊
That's was awesome! Creepy as F....LOL.
internet + unethical pharmaceuticals = OH GOOD CHRIST
woww. those are some creepy monsters, I loved it!
I watched the entire film...now that committees and political parties have failed to prevent uncontrolled overregulation, it is time to focus on suspending the EU Commission and finding ways to prevent that things like this could happen somewhere in Europe in the near future. Somebody give this person a blank check 👍👍
I watched it all. I regret nothing.
I really liked this.
So fricking good.
Very well done, would love to see more
Someone needs to make this into an actual movie, like they did with Mama.
I watched all of it, end slides didn't ruin it at all for me, the film itself was incredibly SCP-esque
Stopped at 6:46. Cool short. :)
That was pretty well made, gave me a serious parasite eve vibe with the creature designs.
Up to 6:46, oh look, a movie that will come out in two years that I simply MUST see.
After 6:46, oh look, a PSA telling people not to be stupid.
Wait, is this a PSA to NOT BUY pharmaceutical products online?
loved it
Visually I think this is quite nice. The plot seemed like a good introduction into a different universe where there is advanced tech, special forces, and old men who are oddly unimpressed by extraordinarily mutated humans. I'm kind of curious as to what else goes down in this world.

I couldn't agree more.
I was going to go to sleep... buuut
Kinda' wish I wasn't watching this alone in the dark when :30 hit.
The end slides didn't "ruin" the film, no.
They did however take a rather interesting short and turn it into hamfisted propaganda. The film, when taken as a standalone, is still pretty awesome though.
thx i didn't want to sleep anyways
"Could you describe again what it was you saw?"
FSDNFJNINFC OH GOD my adrenal glands @_@
great actors, tempo, lighting, specials effect pretty good (nice sense of mass and strength), was it financed by the pharmaceutical business? ty
Kind of similar to the premise of Blassreiter in some ways. Could make for an interesting movie if fleshed out more, and provided they leave the big anvil undropped.
Welp...I'm going to have nightmares tonight.
This would be a good full movie
Should've stopped at 6:46. Up until then was mind blowingly cool.
I think I read somewhere that Matt Stone & Trey Parker were working on a musical adaptation of this.
And here I was expecting something to do with a Gate.
Think all of it worked well. Point was to explain the potential negative effects of taking non-approved drugs and it did that in a stylish and interesting way! The follow up was to engrain that point, rather than making it a pointless horror short. I like the fact it had a purpose!
That fucked my mind up pretty bad, I’m honestly horrified
Cracked was right. It doesnt really ruin it watching past 6:45 but it is like a illusionist that performs an illusion and then explains how it is done. It ruins the mystery so carefully crafted.
I don't understand how anything is ruined; to me, there was no mystery in the first place. I think the last part of the video was unnecessary only because it was boring and needless, not because it ruined anything.
The only way there was a "mystery" to begin with is if you weren't paying any attention to the dialogue.
yeah, wish I had stopped at 6:46. so good until then.
I wholeheartedly agree with the ending and support the message...but I think it takes away from one of the most thrilling and intriguing short films I've ever come across.
Now I just want to watch the rest more, damnit!
Jokes aside, nice piece of work.
This short reminds me of the movie Splice. "Insssssside Youuuuu." lol
it has been a long time since i was this scared
wow. make more please
The bit after 6:46 made it seem a little bit scarier in my opinion.
Where were these jem all these time.
Some years ago(2012) I watched it only one and only now in 2015 I had the courage to watch it again and I discovered that it wasn't so creepy :u
If you stopped at 6:46 and still want to see the credits, skip to 7:30
It was actually showcasing a real-world problem, the point of the short film was likely to bring awareness to it. Honestly I don't see an issue with it, after all would people really... Truly want a real life Umbrella Corporation on their hands?
Nice movie, shame its pharmaceuticals propaganda, else its a gold star for effort and diligence.
Pantshittingly terrifying
I respectfully disagree. The ending slides did not ruin the film for me, and I could not understand why the reviewer at Cracked felt they ruined the film.
oh shit! i just watched it whole!
I watched the whole thing. I don't know what the big deal is. Maybe you should watch it as the the director intended on not based on some internet writers opinion.
this would make one hell of a good movie,if it was done right.scary
Ok... the material after 6:46 doesn't add or take away a lot imho. Don't believe everything someone on the internet tells you.
Nonsense! My nootropics are perfectly saf-BLURGLE
what camera did you use for this please? and lenses?
That's generally how scientific reports go.
So if we followed the links in all those online pharmacy spam messages we too could become hideous rampaging mutants
That is awesome
I don't understand, what's so bad about the film after 6:46 ?
It's because the movie is actually pretty solid but at the end it turns out to be a PSA about ''ONLY TAKE LICENSED MEDS M'KAY OR ELSE YOU WILL BECOME A CREEPY MONSTER''
Where can I get some of that?
Wait, I remember this. It was on the "win" section of Failblog before it was on Cracked...
Wasn't the original 11 minutes? Is this the cut down?
I wantched it a long time ago, and no, it has always been 8 mins
+Le Coco So did I, IMDB says the short is supposed to be 11 minutes.
+megaman455 lol wut .-.
+Le Coco and if you search for the "cutdown version" you find an eight minute video.
vimeo.com/31147024 I think this is what you're looking for.
Fuck yeah this is GOLD
Congratulations pharmaceutical companies for financing a film that scares the crap out of me. I swear I will never buy the cheap alternatives. I promise. Please don't turn me into slenderman.

So I get what this is about, but I don't entirely understand the setting in which the bigwigs are talking about all the events in past tense. Is it like a legal deposition before a trial, or what?

Actually, it sounds pretty much like most political debriefings. Both sides are playing for the microphones.
