The Award winning sci-fi short finally comes to youtube.
pages/Cockpi...
I made this movie for three thousand dollars working on it after hours at my day job at "Jimmy Kimmel Live", with the dream that it would get discovered and lead to the production of my feature screenplay, "Cockpit."
The short has been a finalist in over 30 film festivals, and has won 14 awards. It has even played at Comic-con. The feature screenplay has won 4 awards. We may be on the right track.
"COCKPIT" is the story of a squadron of space fighter pilots, stranded in their cockpits deep in enemy space, struggling with reality and delusion as they are hunted by mind controlling aliens.
"COCKPIT: THE RULE OF ENGAGEMENT" is a standalone chapter from the same universe which follows the Carrier Captain (Ronny Cox) who must decide if it is worth risking the security of Earth to save a suffocating pilot who may or may not have been corrupted by the mind controlling aliens.

Would you believe at the age of 41 and a near lifetime of watching sci-fi shows, I've only recently discovered sci-fi shorts? What the hell have I been doing? This is one of my favourites.
Well welcome and thank you. We're gearing up for a feature film version soon too, so I hope you follow us on Facebook... facebook.com/GriffithFilms/
rock out guys.
Could be worse... you could be 58 and suddenly discover sci-fi shorts, as I did! (And I've seen every sci-fi movie "B" movie from the 50s all the way to the slick shit of today's Star Wars, Star Trek... etc...
ZenZaBill, i love 50s B-grade sci-fi. I have quite the collection. I enjoy trying to figure out what everyday items have been used in prop design and spotting fishing line. Kind of sad I suppose, but I think it reminds us that sometimes imagination is better than special effects. I think we've lost that these days with big budget films where different worlds are handed to us on a platter. Perhaps that is why I am enjoying shorts.
then you'll want a feature version? Just launched the Cockpit Feature film campaign today... www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
Good work getting Ronnie Cox in there! I've always liked him.
Still one of my favorites!!!! Many years later.
Love it! I hope you got to see the new trailer for the feature film on this channel? (I was going to call it “Cockpit: Demon Star” - but then I realized I was on to a better title.. plus emails regarding the movie were getting flagged because of the truncated subject line…
Ronny Cox, so great to see him back in action. He played such great villains in RoboCop and Total Recall. :)
I knew he looked familiar and I just couldn't place it
And stargate
And Deliverance
Also a guitar player and excellent country music singer. Has recorded a few albums and still performs. www.ronnycox.com/
He played the role so well. I'm glad they got him for this, his presence added a certain gravitas to the film short.
Ronny is a Hollywood legend in my book. His scene in Deliverance is one of the most memorable Hollywood scenes. I was lucky to have him
"It's not my job to care" - Best line.
Cockpit: The Feature Film campaign just launched www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
Sounds like something the boss of activision or EA would say.
From a comicbook: "Sentiment will kill you in this place, and you're as good as *dead* "
worst line. face was even worse. being smug about killing one of your own means the enemy has already won. Any victory you get after that is a hollow one, because you've already surrendered your humanity.
Best units against that kind of aliens - remote drones!
Probably... Drones kind of ruin cinema. I think the feature deals with that... they Tarceds can take over our drones and turn them against us. But in reality, a self destruct with a drone is more effective than a pilot ejecting and self destructing. I suppose the Tarceds can take over an unmanned craft quicker than one controlled by a willful human who's willing to eject.
ɷ I Haveee Watched This Movie Leakedd Version Hereeee : - t.co/RlKbv1hghK
+manaswini koride So much not suspicious
Will address in the feature www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
Even the Iranians can take over our drones. You don't think the aliens can too?? Haha
Originally I tried to do very stale still"surveillance" camera type shots. Similar to the climax of "The Grudge." Didn't quite work. So I unleashed my inner galactica!
The more SCI FI shorts I watch. The more I think; ''Why are these not being funded into full length movies!?'' I feel we've been repeatedly let down by Hollywood on the sci fi genre. Yes they may look good but their story lines leave much to be desired (Jupiter ascending springs to mind).
+MC Borris Great comment and ditto to your question. But we fight the good fight and make em ourselves.
Hollywood doesn't offer what we want. Hollywood only offers blockbuster movies that the masses will mindlessly attend.
"The masses" don't get a whole lot to say in the matter. And the masses are people we need to help us keep our world together. I've been off the TV tit for a decade, and I've even infected several of the ex-masses... Time and again, Hollywood sends out some really expensive, really decaying dogshit horror of a movie. One thing I've NEVER heard: Someone compaining that movies aren't dumb enough yet. Here's your first assignment -: get your shotgun, locate a single glob of the masses,(self-contained within a single bag of skin is one way to tell). And give them a big hug - then blow the focking shit outta their TV and run like hell. Upon sucessful execution,,we'll find some really juicy stuff for you so keep checking back for further orders..
Some times these short films do get adapted into movies. Like Pixels (the short is better of course). And look up the short film "The space between us" it's being made into a full length too.
Truth is stranger than the fiction we can imagine and technologies are 50 years ahead of where the masses have been told !
A gigantic control program has been going on since JFK in the 60s
"What if he was telling the truth?"
"It's not my job to care."
....LIKE A BOSS.
..LOOVED THIS..!!! .., and f-ing AWESOME to see the amazing RONNIE COX.. That boy has been around the proverbial block a couple times, & more than paid HIS dues..!!! EXCELLENT actor.., & I feel certain they know they were lucky to have Him... Eg; ..ever seen ROBOCOP..?? Lol..
dzyanist Robocop is one of my favorite films.
You'll notice in both versions of the flashback that the 2 fighters are seen leaving an atmosphere
One of the keys of good science fiction is the writing having a good foundation in science. Holding the enemy at bay at the edge of the galaxy seems a bit out of kilter, if you know how large our galaxy really is. At the edge of the Solar system would make sense. But 90 years in the future we go from crawling in 1 star system to thriving in several hundred million? Not likely.
I agree. Space battles on the "edge of the Galaxy" did take away from the science aspect of the film.
Jeffrey Raia It was intended to be a colorful way of saying something like "at the ends of the Earth..." but in outer space. Edge of the Solar System didn't sound great... but I'll reconsider that for the feature.
The story was intense & kept my interest, & the film very well produced & worthy of applause. Griffith Pictures reply to Rod Martin, Jr.'s & Jeffrey Raia criticism is gracious.@@griffithpictures
4 years ago he didn't foresee Trump already starting the Space Force lol
'not likely' is a vast understatement. This isn't science fiction.
IMO this is the absolute best sci-fi short I've seen--ever. Seems to me everybody's a critic on what really are trivial & insignificant aspects of film making. I don't think Jesse Griffiths had buckets of money or cutting edge technology to draw on. I've watched this dozens of times over the years & have never become bored with it. This is a film you should watch a few times to see things going on in the background you don't see the first or second time. Great work Jesse!
Thanks man. Yeah, most of this was made on a laptop. But I got a new trailer coming for a trailer contest out that has an updated look. All done on a desktop and everything. Should be exciting.
Thank you so much again. And now the feature is about to go into production (hopefully) Cockpit: The Feature Film campaign just launched www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
I remember seeing this at the Irish National Science Fiction Convention a few years back - it was shortlisted for a Golden Blaster award. I loved it, really pleased to stumble on it again.
Then you'll be pleased to know the feature is in production. We're halfway through shooting, and are building the practical set this time. Follow us at Demon Star Movie fan page on Facebook. Good to see Ronny Cox out there in the Sci-Fi realm! Great production!
Ronny Cox return for the feature. Teaser out now... www.indiegogo.com/projects/demon-star/x/3058494#/
A very entertaining short, good acting, good visualization and an interesting little story. Well done and thanks for sharing it. Its also really great to see an actor of Ronny Cox's caliber helping out smaller independent film creators, cast and crews.
Excellent stuff. this was so good, i don't understand why Hollywood spend millions making crap that's nowhere near as good. well done Jesse and thanks for taking the time to make it.
This probably sums it up pretty easily :(

Well we're making the feature in my backyard. Teaser has just been released... www.indiegogo.com/projects/demon-star/x/3058494#/
OK, that was an unexpected gem. Really hope there's more. God knows there are precious few original scifi ideas out there and fewer executed as well as this was.
Glad you liked it. Great comment.
Really science fictional, for a change. Good job, guys.
+Axgoodofdunemaul Thanks!
Hope you follow the progress of the feature film. It was originally going to be called "Cockpit: Demon Star", but we decided to just go with Demon Star.
It's facebook.com/DemonStarMovie/
If you see my other films, you'll notice I edited his stage performance "Ronny Cox: Songs Stories & Out & Out Lies."
There is a lot of comments here...pros, semi-pros, self-nominated "experts"... I wanna say just that I like it very much so. I’m a sci-fi fanatic since I know me’wit. Already watch it more than a dozen times, and I still enjoy this short... very good one.
-Hey there! Many thanks indeed, I'm just on about to log in. (also thx fo' the password) ...
Actually, a couple days ago did watch it again, dare to say one of my favourite short SF-s of all time, even if it's "just some small" production. :-) Very honestly hope that you will make it on the level and in the style as you wish, would like to support that in every way I just can really. Thank you for the response, just made my day.
Now look into this link... Thx, Sandor
Thanks. Just launched the feature campaign today. www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
I'm with you guys. Found these a couple years ago and watch them all the time

Bayonetta, you're as cold as ice. "It's not my job to care" haha.
Marcus Lambright Bayonetta is a savage
BRAVO!! BRAVO! 170 dislikes is not an insult. It just proves that no matter what you think of this art in motion -it's WORTH a look. I've watched it 3x in one sitting. With what was available just 5 years ago, making this was no easy feat and I can appreciate and respect the labor involved. In terms of screenplay and editing, this is called a SHORT -but believe me: IT'S ALL THERE. The whole ride. Press play and enjoy, but afterwards:
imagine what's coming (my guess) in 2016 from a crew & story that HOLLYWOOD should've greenlit years ago. CHEERS!
Glad you liked it! It's great knowing I have an audience that appreciates this genre.
Excellent short . Great older actor .
congratulations, Jessie. What you have achieved here on this budget both artistically and especially technically is pretty jaw dropping - every success to you and the team with the project.
I would LOVE to hear how much practical set you had in relation to the greenscreen and how the 3d compositing was handled, especially in that very ambitious track around the bridge from monitors to the captain with other activity in the foreground and background as dialogue is delivered. Tasty work!
Glad you enjoyed it. The joystick and thruster control is all the practical elements there are (you can see the photos at cockpitthemovie.com). The tracking shot was just the one actor walking in place on a 2d plane in a 3d environment. If you watch it again, you can kind of tell. Hope you're on the Facebook fan page. We'll be launching the feature project soon.
Such a shame, Helena' voice isnt used more often, it's got quite an amazing tone to it. You go Bayonetta gurl.
Yeah, she is awesome. We need more Hellena! :D
I've been reading scifi
books since the late 50s. Over the years I became a big fan of the 1 to 3 page short stories. Now that we are in the 21st century I guess we have the short video.
I thought the explosions were the best effects I had going for me. Glad you like the story.
2103 - "Edge of the galaxy"
I guess the date is set a bit to early to allow space travel and sci fi settings on a galactic scale...
The FC, precisely because FC, no definite or time, or space scale ...
+zeezhz what if we figured out einstein-rosen bridges by 2050?
nThanksForAllTheFish
I think thats unlikely, although you certainly got a point there.
we went from the Wright brothers hopping a few hundred feet to landing on the moon in 60 odd years so it doesn't seem that too far fetched if enough money was pumped into it.
zeezhz I thought so too, by thousands of years
with a enemy like this there would be redundant recording systems not controllable by pilot
I think that's why they're asking to him to transfer his logs, they would see the change he entered. Was he really out of life support or was he under a delusion? Either way the situation was manufactured so that they wouldn't be able to verify.
wow...this is pretty good.Hard to believe it was made in only 3000 $.Deserves all the awards it got.
A teeny nice bit of a BSG look and feel about it. Well done, great movie!
Thanks. Hope you join the fan page on facebook for the upcoming feature film. Just search Demon Star Movie on facebook.
One of the best short films I've seen here.
Best comment! Thanks. Hope you're on the facebook fan page.
Jesse Griffith Will do. Very original.
Jesse Griffith
I am now. Can you recommend other original interesting shorts?
Jesse Griffith That was mind blowing ? Serious this material has the stuff of a movie.
Reul McGillolane
Have you seen Skin?
Woa... not bad, very good even
It's like the best 70's scifi but better. Just criminal this isn't on TV every week.
at least the feature film is coming out soon... www.indiegogo.com/projects/demon-star/x/3058494#/
Awesomeness!!! It was awesome to see Ronnie Cox in this short, and a good one at that!
Thanks All!
Thank you! And Ronny Cox returns for the feature version (title changed to "Demon Star"). www.indiegogo.com/projects/demon-star/x/3058494#/
Awesome stuff.
That was awesome
9.5/10
If you slow down the space explosions it will look more realistic our cat says🐱
Copy that. Slower Explosions in the feature film. Will do.

Crazy Funny Cats smart kitty
I think the CGI is better than what could be done normally given the budget...very well done. Story idea is good, too.
Nice, very dark story, not corny at all. Please make more.

LOL... OK, here ya go: The Tarcids are in fact NOT the enemy. They are psychihc or telepathic (which ever term you prefer), but the one we see moving toward the ship at the end of the cip is infact a peace emmisary searching out the captain of this particular ship because of certain genetic traits that he posesses. This emmisary is here to bring the message that the war the humans are fighting is not a war of their own creation, but rather a war started by Tarcid criminals who have escaped the juristictions of thier society. They have already infiltrated Earth and are trying to psychicly manipulate humans into fighting their war for them.
The emmissary tells the captain that, as a powerful psychic species, they have no need for war. Why would you need to make war when you can edit your very presence out of the minds of those "lesser" creatures around you? Tarcids can pass completely undeteced so why would they ever need to fight? But as a psychic species they also have laws against manipulating "lesser" species, especially for any kind of profit or personal advancement movite. The criminals, having excaped and made their way to Earth, have already taken over the governments of the world and have used their psychic tallents to convince all humanity that they are in mortal danger from the Tarcids, when in fact the Tarcids are only trying to help save Earth and its people from manipulative Tarcid criminals. The XO is one of those criminals, placed specifically on this ship to prevent emmissaies from countering their psychic manipulations. The captain has latent psychic genes that, when properly stimulated, could give him the ability to "see" past the telepathic lies and perhaps even shield his innermost thought away from Tarcid detection, but the emmissary has to get to him and help him to "see" the truth before its too late. The XO begins hunting the emmissary, but only after the meeting between the captain and the emmissary has begun. Then it becomes a psychic game of hide and seek between the emmissary and the criminals on board.
Put that in your peace pipe and puff, puff, pass...
Will puff for the feature version... please share
www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
Here's where your story falls apart:
If the humans are so easily influenced, that a handful of evil aliens can effectively conquer Earth, then we would be THE ABSOLUTE WORST pawns to use in a war. If billions of humans were completely defenseless against a few evil aliens, how well do you think those evil aliens believe we'd fair against billions of good aliens? That's like one adult beating up a group of toddlers and then expecting those toddlers to go beat up a group of adults.
If they're so enlightened that they no longer have need for war then why is there a criminal element? The only reason we humans have cops and militaries is because we have bad guys. If we were enlightened beyond war and crime we wouldn't need cops or militaries, so you're premise is flawed.
You guys both need to spend some serious time writing. Whether novel length, novella or short story, it's all good. You both have excellent detailed imaginations and should br putting ideas to paper. I would love to read stories from either or both of you. 😎👍
That guy was in Star Trek! He commanded the Enterprise during the standoff with the Cardassians, while Picard was being tortured. Forgot his name.
Captain Jellico was the character's name
Jesse Griffith one of most major rule of engagement is, and always will be: Do not fire unless fired upon.
He was in almost everything, a real character actor: the great Ronny cox. RIP
***** The problem with a mind weapon though is that they might already have BEEN fired upon...
Ash White Ronny is alive and well.
Damn, Some of these shorts deserve to be a full show or movie.
This film is incredible. Awesome effects, compelling story, deep characters you come to care about, fantastic acting, superb cinematography, brilliant story, ...... 😁😃 can you tell I liked this movie? And it is only eleven minutes and thirty nine seconds long? And if the article I read is right, it was made with a budget of only $3000. For someone like me, who loves movies and goes fairly often, I hate to think of all the money I have wasted over the years on two and half hour 100 million dollar plus crappy movies pumped out by Hollywood. Of course sometimes you go see a movie and it's great but that is becoming a rarity these days as Hollywood just puts out sequel after sequel and Disney remakes. And for sci fi fanatics like me, all we can look forward to is the latest star wars reboot and or comic book movie. I love the marvel cinematic universe, but it would be nice to sometimes just have a nice well done sci fi movie to go enjoy. Something like this. Oh well, let me stop my rant and go make breakfast.....🤣🤣😂 Congratulations on this outstanding film Mr. Griffith. If I ever hit the lottery I have a million dollars with your name on it so you can turn this into a feature film.😊
Glad you liked it. You'll be pleased to know we finished shooting and I am in the middle of post on the feature film. (Originally is was titled "Cockpit: Demon Star," but now it's just "Demon Star." You can see the spaceship redesigns and other behind the scenes on instagram #demonstar #spaceshipbuild. And please, spread the word. Fans like you make this project fly.
The word I think you're looking for is confusing, not compelling. If the aliens can control your mind just by looking at you then how has anyone survived to explain how they do it? However; since they do know how the aliens operate, why do they bother putting windows on their spaceships the enemy can use to see inside of? If your enemy's strategy hinges on controlling the minds of your people, then you do not accommodate him by putting people into the battle; you use drones. There is nothing deep about the characters, nothing. We learn nothing about their past, their likes and dislikes, their relationships, their hopes and dreams, their fears, nothing. We know nothing about them other than the Captain cares about his men and the spook is a cunt.
Guilty! And I returned the Saitek to Fry's after we finished shooting (to be fair, they sold me an open box version that was already pre-owned). Kept my budget down.
He just had to kill Bob Morton because he made a mistake. Now,it is time to erase that mistake.
COHAGGEN! (Ron Cox) Awesome. Great film. I would love to see it in long form. Cool music at the end too.
One of the most engaging things I've seen in a while, it left me wanting to know more. I just wish I could like it more than once! Really hoping to see "Cockpit" in theaters in the future.

Nice job. Good imagination. Liked the shits. Would have liked to see a little more of the alien. all in all I'd give you an "A."
Scott Wooldridge You'll get more of the alien in the feature for sure. Thank you very much. Glad you like it. Please spread the word.
Jesse Griffith I shared it on my facebook. My kids loved it.
What happened to "I don't care if he is one of ours, if he lights off his thrusters - SHOOT HIM DOWN!"?
Then we he does light off his thrusters, the idiot fighter pilots are still asking for permission to fire...
Well, that command was given 8 minutes prior by the XO before a dialogue was entered with the Captain.
"Golly, Sir, you gave that order such a long time ago that I didn't think it mattered any more."
Yeah, I can see THAT working.
The XO does not outrank the Captain. More like the pilot saying, "Golly Captain, your XO gave an order 8 minutes ago so I'm going to just ignore that you were talking with that pilot." This sort of is the debate between Denzel and Hackman in Crimson Tide if you think about it.
How does talking to the pilot have anything to do with it? The Captain never said "Hold your fire" as far as I remember, so his conversation with the comprimised pilot has no bearing on the order given by the XO
+MiSt 526 He was, however initially given the go ahead to "come on home" after the log viewing, before being placed on hold. This likely began the confusion if whether the order still stood or not.
Great short film. It has a good storyline that builds tension with the mind controlling alien enemy. I hope to see it succeed to it's full feature version.

And here's the big news. Our kickstarter campaign has finally launched. We're going to make a feature (hopefully)!... www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
Okay why not use cybernetic forces? If you deal with an enemy that can control your mind, why not just send in cybernetic drones with observational equipment for a pilot to fight from long distance(you would be out psionic range most likely). Or clones designed to die after combat, and their ships come back. Why not genetically engineer soldiers to be able to defend against that kind of mind control. Instead they just send pilots on ahead to fight an enemy like that...
A common comment, so I'll address that in the feature. But the short of it is the aliens can hack remote controlled vehicles easier than they can control minds.
And that's the main truth of it. But I'll need to answer that question if I'm doing a feature.
See, the thing is What about genetic engineering. Creating soldiers who are immune to the effect, or even clones with no intent to survive, after every mission mine wipe, or euthanasia.
Fangadora Wolfen This would make for good watching, as the next generation of pilots, hinted at and then taking the stage in the sequel!
Well, Im not sure how that would work, if you have a brain you can get brainhacked its like making a PC with an internet connection that cant be hacked lol If its something more limited and simple than a brain to avoid "survival instincts" or even "common sense" n just do the programmed orders, thats just even easier to hack, same as the remote drones. Too bad it looks like not even tinfoil hats work here as its not just any electric wave, more like telepathy n it has no barriers.
I love anything with Ronny Cox! He is an awesome actor. And so versatile, He brings a certain class to any role he tackles. Thank You, Mr. Cox. Your #1 fan here. Peace.
Ronnie Cox and sci fi go hand in hand, great work
Too Lazy To Live Thanks. He should be appearing in the feature film too. Hope you're following our facebook fan page.

Hey..that's Ronny Cox....didn't he die on Mars?
No he died in Detroit with 4ft long arms waving after OCP fired him and Robo cop shot him.
Matthew Plum And that's long after he drowned in a Georgia river after falling out of a canoe.
Nah, he's a Beverley Hills Cop.
Dave Arkanoid Gilbert dude, movies in which he DIED.
Bill M
you didn't state that you were listing movies in which he died, you just asked the question "...didn't he die on Mars?" I was just........oh, never mind.
0:50 they say "...U.E.S Carrier to INSURE all pilots..."
Are they covered with Allstate?
Kind of amateur grammar for an award winning sci fi short haha
It's amazing you made this for $3,000. Anything is plausible in a movie, I don't understand why comments are left questioning scenes of the movie. I'm from the Palm Springs area where Jimmy Kimmel once worked in radio.
Awesome short. So superior to many full length movies.
Thanks man! You'll be happy to know I'm working on the fx for the feature length version as we speak. It's called "Demon Star" now...
@@griffithpictures That is fantastic! Is there a link for info or to donate to the cause?
@@trevormcwilliams7578 Here you go... www.indiegogo.com/projects/demon-star#/ for now this is the best place to follow. Cool teaser there too. I let my administrative duties go, so the campaign is over, but I still update the site , and if I do another presale, it will be announced there. Welcome aboard!
The acting was good but the CGI was pretty bad in this one. Reminded me of the old 80s sci-fi shows special fx. Ronny Cox is a veteran sci-fi man though. I wonde how you got him on.
Ronny Cox was the Police Chief in Beverly Hills Cop. He's a veteran of almost everything.
Better CG then in the feature. I'm better at it now. Cockpit: The Feature Film campaign just launched www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
@@griffithpictures So did you ever raise the funds needed?? I really like this story/short. I have been involved with the motion picture funding most of my life. Perhaps I could help?
Dale Because thanks Dale... I’ve been making the feature out of pocket and ran a successful indiegogo campaign to cover the last four days of filming. Now it’s just me and post production for the next 12 months. But please spread the word about the feature (it’s titled #Demonstar)
The CG didn't bother me at all. It was good enough to let me believe for the duration, and that's what it's supposed to do.
why would space fighters have wings? and cutting his engines would do jackshit to stop him >.>

+Gammel Prutte I was gonna do the maths then realised I didn't care enough :P You can do it yourself pretty easy though, just google nebula density, with that you can work out the moles of gas per volume, then calculate the distance between each particle :)
Fleecemaster Or you could google 'rhetoric' :)

You mean Skyrim isn't a real place? Damn...
The part where the captain said, "Get the hell of my ship." Is somewhat of a reference.
Oh, I just remembered, it is from Halo Wars. It is a modified version of, "Get of my lab."
Awesome ending! Right into the credits. Classic short story scifi.
Ken Bagwell You get it man! Thanks!
One thing sci-fi movie makers get wrong SO OFTEN is that there is no sound in space and wings mean NOTHING to a fighter in space.
In fact, a single seat spacecraft is stupid.
An aircraft carrier size spacecraft is just as nimble as a 10 ton fighter.
... and drones make more sense anyway. (But wings help in the atmosphere that they entered when they hit their targets). Aircraft carriers are problematic because if they are exposed, they cost of "ejecting" is much higher. All good points. I need to open the feature with a montage of these thoughts and either show how the Tarceds exploit these idea (especially the drone one), or I need to fix it.
Toltrin Smith Well to be fair, there are many pointless things that we humans do all of the time. Wings may be aesthetically pleasing in this future and like Griffith mentioned helping with alien atmosphere. Just like name brand clothes, etc doing meaning "nothing", as you put, with the reason of said article of clothing or some pieces of work, etc that people clamor over.
Toltrin Smith this is not even remotely true not even close you might not have weight in space but you do have mass and inertia and a fighter will be significantly more Nimble than a carrier
Now THAT was a GREAT SHORT!!!
I hope you are on our facebook fan page. I'm making a feature film version of this. Just search Demon Star Movie on facebook.
Thank you for making something special and unique to enjoy. Wish you all the best. Really hope someone gets you making Hollywood movies.
Good actors make all the difference when working with a micro budget. Cool wee movie.
i had a terrible nightmare after watching this the first time. i normally don't have nightmares since a few years but the idear of something torturing your mind like was creeping me out. very nicely done :D
YESSSSSS. You are very keen. Your half hope is addressed in the feature version in a form of sorts.
I haven't watched the video yet, but props for making a science fiction film with a run time of 1138. I'm choosing to believe that was deliberate.
+ibidthesecond Whoa, it was not deliberate, and I never caught that! I'm posting it on my fan page right away. Thanks.
We're making a feature film now too.. www.kickstarter.com/projects/scifiguy/cockpit-indy-sci-fi-action-horror-feature-film
If you didn't have a budget then you could have made the greatest sci fi movie ever made.
one question: how does this only have 28,000 views???
In my opinion it should have gone viral!
All the elements are readily here: but the directing is as though its under water.
Great to see Ronny Cox in this. Can't wait for the full movie. Great work
Thanks. Just finished shooting him for the feature. He was awesome again (this time with a goatee)
Awesome act by Johnny Sins. Just loved it.
that's very funny.
1862 was arguably the first glimpse into television technology with television technology actually taking off in 1928. So 1928 to present (2013) is 85 years, we now have full HD televisions in our pocket from which we can transmit and receive to many other sources. We've just started booking space travel flights to the rich today, so yeah, who knows what we'll find in 90 years? But to be fair, I wrote the script 3 years ago, so it's actually 93 years for the technology jump to occur.
Impressive under a low budget.
Starhunter Terra 1,500 dollars plus another grand for insurance.
Some nice Battestar Galatica inspiration there too. Great work.
just like those command and conquer FMVS
!!!...Great short!!! This is the kind of short I've been longing to watch.
I saw “Cockpit” I don’t know how long ago, but it has been a while. I have just found it again. I have really enjoyed it and now that I read the extra info, I would have donated earlier, if I had. I will be sending a donation. Ronny Cox is one of my favorite actors and also had an influence on me as well. I look forward to donating and seeing your film. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make the premiere due to financial constraints. I will try to save up for it, but traveling to Commifornia is less than desirable. But for this movie of yours and to possibly meet You and Ronny Cox would make it worth it.
Thank you for all that you and your crew are doing and keep up the great work! 👍
Glad to have you aboard. You'll have some time to save for that trip as it will take me over a year and a half to finish. The goal is to sell to Netflix too,
exactly! (Though the feature delves into an infected squadron first before we break out the carrier stuff)
Ronnie Cox, good on you and God speed.
Fabulous concept for future military personnel under possible mind control. Ronny Cox is awesome and brings a lot to film. Thx for posting.
I was Ronnie Cox’s stand-in one day on Pure Country 3. What a nice guy. Very friendly. I enjoyed this short.
I was browsing youtube randomly and had this is my related vids...well damn...i didnt expect a random vid i found to be so awesome ! You've got a fan today !
