    The probe is made to stay in there while you cook. That is why it is called a smart grill. It will stop by itself when it reaches the desired temp based on what you are cooking.

      Sure but kind of hard to stick it into a frozen patty :)

      How hot does the exterior on the unit get? I drive trucks and would like to replace my microwave with an air fryer. I’m just worried about the outside getting hot and burning the plastic where I place my microwave.

      @@TheLWebb100 speaking of grilled steaks... I don't eat steak, but my son loves it. I've tried buying inexpensive steak to experiment cooking, (I say inexpensive because I didn't want to spend too much incase I messed it all up!) he said it wasn't the best (not sure if it's because I bought thin cheap steak, or because Idk how to season/marinate steak, so it was all experimental) I also tried making his steaks on the stovetop(not grilled) but now that I have the ninja grill, I am going to try again for him. I can pre set it to his desired doneness (rare, medium rare, etc) but, how do you recommend I season the steak? Do you marinate yours ever, or just sprinkle seasoning on? He's a kid, so he doesn't have suggestions or steak cooking knowledge, I don't eat it so I can't taste it as I go, so any suggestions I'd really appreciate!! (One time I bought a steak rub, ugh, it was bad(he said) (&, I smelled it), it smelled & he said it tasted like it had a bunch of cinnamon in it, anther time I tried teryaki marinade, but I'd like to learn to just sprinkle some classic steak seasoning , grill it, badda-bing, badda-boom! (I'm just hesitant to keep buying seasonings/rubs/marinades after that gross cinnamon one, I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it had that in it) I'd like advice from a steak eater!

    I think you’ll find the temperature probe is supposed to stay in the oven during cooking & the reading controls the grill. It’s not supposed to be used as a temperature probe which is more sensitive & works faster. Had you put the probe into the burger & left it there, the grill would have cooked them automatically, no lifting the lid every few minutes!?!? 🤔

      @JohnSanders  4 года назад

      Yes... that is what it is designed for but I did wonder if it could function as an Instant read... not for me because I have a thermapen but for anyone considering purchasing the grill and as you saw it did not function very well for that purpose... so as I say all the time everyone needs an Instant read thermometer in my opinion...thanks for watching!!

      @@JohnSanders just to mention Brian might be from U.K. where it’s only the skinny ones that are called (French) Fries. The fatter ones like your crinkle cut ones are called chips and what US call chips are called crisps. That all reminds me of the comedy series called Soap from years ago where the intro was a catch-up and the voice-over says “Confused? You won’t be after this episode of Soap” but I always ended up more confused. Anyhow love your videos keep up the good work.

    The reason your probe didn't read your hand temp is because you weren't holding the tip of the probe. That's where the temp registers. Also, you flip a frozen Bubba burger when you see moisture rising to the surface of the burger

      I'm not familiar with the Ninja 400 pro but if you are referring to the Ninja Pro grill... or the previous version I would have to say this one if you need a larger cooking area... but if say 4 burgers at a time versus 6 is ok with your family size then the pervious version is a really good machine... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
