The probe is made to stay in there while you cook. That is why it is called a smart grill. It will stop by itself when it reaches the desired temp based on what you are cooking.

The us version is so much different, the Uk version of the air crisp basket is so much bigger I don’t think this would be possible with the uk version of Ag551, unless you can buy the basket separately, even that’s not available on the Uk ninja web site😁
Another great video John. I wanted to ask what type of watch is that? I'm not up to date on watches. The last one I bought was a Timex in the 1980's. It's time for me to get one of these new fangled ones so big brother can monitor me.

The reason your probe didn't read your hand temp is because you weren't holding the tip of the probe. That's where the temp registers. Also, you flip a frozen Bubba burger when you see moisture rising to the surface of the burger
Unfortunately my Box was destroyed when I got it. This… I don't think ... has anything to do with the make or the seller of the grill. It was really easy to put together but some parts were bent so I had to finagle them to get the the drip pan installed.
Hey, John! Love your videos....very well detailed!...Only question, which is better Ninja 400 Pro..or XL for all function....looking to buy...it seems like it taes the XL a little longer in videos I ve seen...but good for the grill mode...I d appreciate your thoughts...Thanks for all you do!
I'm not familiar with the Ninja 400 pro but if you are referring to the Ninja Pro grill... or the previous version I would have to say this one if you need a larger cooking area... but if say 4 burgers at a time versus 6 is ok with your family size then the pervious version is a really good machine... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Neither thermometer is supposed to be inserted vertically. The Ninja tells you how you’re supposed to insert it: horizontally, and leave it inside while cooking. 🤦♀️

If you had to get only one, would it be the Foodi grill or the foodie dual air fryer?
Very good question... are you planning on doing a lot of steaks?
Can you kindly let me know what silicon brand tongs you have there? Tongs / flat looks like something I need to own
They are made by a company called Joseph Joseph...i have used them quite a bit recently... they work really well...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders great videos. Thanks for making them. I have tu get that grill grate degreaser and whatever you use fire the grill plate cleaning
@@michaelsuna6248 Hi Michael, what video is the grill grate degreaser on? Do you know the name?
The us version is so much different, the Uk version of the air crisp basket is so much bigger I don’t think this would be possible with the uk version of Ag551, unless you can buy the basket separately, even that’s not available on the Uk ninja web site😁
I didn't realize that... thanks for letting us know...thanks for watching!!!
U.S. the big basket comes with. half basket you buy separate. 😎
Another great video John. I wanted to ask what type of watch is that? I'm not up to date on watches. The last one I bought was a Timex in the 1980's. It's time for me to get one of these new fangled ones so big brother can monitor me.
I have a Samsung watch...I do like it...
Thank you for this guide--I learned a lot! What is the salt you used? And are those 2 different types of salts in that wooden salt holder ?
I use Jacobsen salt... one is normal sea salt and the other side of the box is a flake finishing salt...thanks for watching!!!
Now it just needs to make waffles too lol
@janie me tooooooo D:
Forget the grill. I like the watch man.
It is a nice thing to have...lol... thank you for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders jus got the grill for Christmas and i luv it. 👍🏻enjoy your days
It is a really useful device that you will love...thanks for watching!!!
Where you get that little basket from?
Air frying basket?
@@JohnSanders Yes where did you get the air frying basket from?
I ordered it from ninjas website...
Why does on the crisper xl basket box that comes with the ninja, it says grill and air fry at the same time?
I guess because that is kinda what it is...i mean it is a grill but it is a grill that uses air fry technology... but that is just my guess...lol...thanks for watching!!!
We’re the burgers different thickness? Or did the grill cook differently on one side from the other?
They were very close to same size...thanks for watching!!
Love your content!
Thank you very much and thanks for watching!!!
I don't think I have ever check the temp on fries, even if they are frozen. It seems as we move into the future everything will be frozen.
well..this is what i was looking for...a comparison with air..
Glad I helped... thanks for watching!!!
Do I want this or the oven? Decisions, decisions . . .
It’s a temperature probe, not an instant read thermometer. They each have their own purpose. Otherwise, great video!!
Neither thermometer is supposed to be inserted vertically. The Ninja tells you how you’re supposed to insert it: horizontally, and leave it inside while cooking. 🤦♀️
Yeah...I was just trying to see in it could be used for a different product that might save people some money...thanks for watching!!!
Does this smoke? Or have a plastic smell or chemical taste ?
It does smoke sometimes but no worse than any other in my opinion and I have never noticed a plastic smell...thanks for watching!!
You leave the thermometer IN the meat WHILE COOKING. 🤦♂️ You took a smart grill and made it A REGULAR GRILL. 🤣 👍
Lol... you may have a point...thanks for watching!!!
Don’t be rude
@@joycesieczkowski6235 I agree. I should've piped down. He actually has the best representation around for vloggers about any other I've seen. But...it was killin me. lol
Sorry, no offense to anyone.
@@JohnSanders Sorry to come off rude.
The probe is meant to be in the frozen patties. And yr suppose to remove ALL stickers from the machine before using it 😮
no grill marks on the burgers.
Hey John you need to get you a can of Duck Fat Spray and spray it on your Fries before cooking. If you do you most likely will not want Fries done any other way! Liked The Video!!
That is a good idea...i will try that...thanks and thanks for watching!!!
Where do you buy duck fat spray?
@@MamaDouglas Google it and it will give a list of places where you can get it.
I have saw it at Walmart...
