This is an outstanding video for multiple reasons. The art of doing everything in one unit with timing and such well thought out is just the beginning. Watching scallops being done and knowing a potato's internal temp? The is video is just packed with information and super helpful insights into maximizing the Foodi Grill. Excellent efforts, thanks for making this video.
You are such a lovely person in a world thats going kinda nuts. Thank you for all you do. It is a real joy to watch your videos and try your recipes. God Bless.
I have been watching your videos the past few days, along with a few others, in my quest to determine which appliance I should get. I currently own an instant pot air fryer in Florida, and wanted to get something for my place up north. We don’t own an outdoor grill And I love that this will do that job and also allow me to air fry! You do a wonderful job of sharing info and informing others, and your techniques. In this world where so many people feel it is ok to say nasty things on line, I commend you for rising above and being such a nice person. I just ordered my ninja and by ordering directly from Ninja I got a lot of extra little things in a promo. Cannot wait to try it out! Thank you so much.
Just a 'tip' that should help with your tip placement. I lay the probe across the top of the item I want to measure until the tip is where I want it to be in the center once inserted, then grab the probe between thumb & forefinger with those 2 fingers up against the edge of the meat, then without moving your pinch grip insert the probe and push it in up to until your fingers touch the edge of the meat. The depth should be centered, you just have to make sure you're close to center on the height of the cut. Also, keep in mind, according to the ninja cookbook that comes with the unit, it illustrates that their probe actually has 2 sensors, one at the tip, and another just a little further up, just where it starts to flare out to the main body of the probe. Guess this is to try and give an more averaged out reading. Other than that the meal looked great, loved how you timed everything to finsh nice and warm all at the same time. Cheers!
All the best things in one plate, my absolute favourites scallops, fillet, potato and even broccoli, it was made for me! 😋 Now all I need is the Foodi Grill
Your fillet steak looked perfect! 😋 I'm am 31 weeks pregnant and really miss steak. I like it medium rare too but I will have to wait until I've had baby before I can enjoy a medium rare steak again.
So this sold me on buying the grill. I watched your videos on the Ninja Foodi XL, and in the past 2 years or so got one of those, the Ninja blender and the Ninja Coffee Thingy (not the real name). I have been on the fence about the grill for a year or so, and this just sold me. Living in an apt with VERY sensitive smoke alarms, I have not been able to cook a steak in 6 years. Steak is one of my fav meals. I can finally make it again. Thank you Louise. Oh, and please share the recipe for that million dollar rub! lol.
I’ve been doing potatoes like this for decades they’re very good and I do them in anything for the oven the ninja foodie my sharp convection oven I started with them in there is fantastic
@@TheSaltedPepper On this snowy Valentines day I think I am going to try your air fried Chimichangas. I just watched the video (probably re-watched it) and I have some boneless chicken thighs all ready cooked. So that will be our Valentines day feast. :)
This all looks so wonderful!!! Hope you had a wonderful Valentines day!! Love your videos. Is your Million Dollar rub "Old Hickory Million Dollar rub"???
Absolutely love your channel. Just bought foodie, the blender, and the xl oven in the last week. Just wondering...will you be doing more vids in the xl oven? And what do u think a out the airfryer option on the oven?
It's not my favorite that is for sure. I love the XL oven for tons of things, but as an air fryer, it doesn't impress me. It has done a better job since I've been increasing the temp by 50 degrees, but it's still not as good as the other air fryer functions.
My first day here. So I guess that makes me a NEWBIE.. Wanted to ask where did you purchase your grill grate. Also I learn some things here. I just purchased my 6 in 1 just a few days ago.. I do enjoy your channel. Thank you.
Thank you and here is the link to the grill grate. I think they are having a 15% off promotion now (JOLLY15): www.grillgrate.com/products/searnsizzle-grillgrate-for-the-foodi-smart-grill-xl-1/?aff=33
I’m not sure if your xl grill is the older version, but I just bought the 2nd gen and apparently the temp probe has 2 zones for checking the temp. One at the end and one in the middle. It has been very accurate for me.
This video can be summed up in one word: Fantastic! However, it deserves more... "5 Star Surf and Turf Dinner the Ninja Foodi Grill Way." It has given me a neat process to perfection. Thank you.
luv ur videos this grill looks great might have to sell other small appliances to get this like my air fryer and one of my pressure cookers to justify spending the money on this since it does it all ty again for all u do.
Really like this idea for getting all the food out in a timely fashion. Do you have a recipe for the million dollar rub. You make it sound so good and said you made it for friends.
I'm looking into bottling it and selling it. I thought about including the recipe, but when I sourced out the ingredients, one of them in particular is hard to find and only comes in large packages (for a quality product), it would be quite expensive to make at home and you would end up with 10 pounds of the rub. I think it's more accessible if I can sell spice jars of it.
Oh just bought mine ninja and I was looking how it’s works and saw your video Amazing !! Thank you so much for your video one question do you have to wash the filter after every use ? Even if it’s not too dirty ? I was scared to Damaged if I take it in and off so often
I really like your videos. I returned my cheap air fryer and am now back in the market haha. Have you used the newest ninja with the heating elements on the bottom? I wonder how much the bottom heating benefits the overall usefulness.
You used the sear and grill grate. Do you place it on top of the griddle or the very bottom pan,or the grill that came with the unit. TIA for answering.
This model doesn't have the griddle and the grill grate doesn't work with the griddle/grill model. In this XL grill there is a liner pan and I set it in the pan. There are ledges that it sits on.
You are Admirable , Inspirational and so Professional ! I enjoy your educational and delightful videos ! Thank you so much for your incredible videos. Regards !!
I am getting the 6n1 next week and need your recipes please, I looked on your channel but only found one, would you be so kind as to help a beginner for this grill, thank you so much❤️ in the past I did your top round rolled in salt and pepper and garlic and it has been a favorite always so could you show us some ways on the Ninja xl smart 6 n 1 recipes. ❤
Just a few questions. You used olive oil which has a low smoking temp.. Other videos say to use Avocado oil or Canola oil. Also you pressed down on the filet's. That releases the juices. Don't you want the juices to stay in the steak?
You press down to create the connection with the surface for the best sear. You don't press the juices out, a whole steak is much different from a ground hamburger. I don't usually press a hamburger because you do lose juices that way. Unless, of course, I'm making a smashburger. You can use whatever oil you like, I use olive oil unless I'm cooking at super high temps or the food will do better with a neutral flavored oil like avocado.
Does the grill grate you have scratch the bottom pan? I bought one, but it looks like it’s going to scratch the pan. On the fence as to whether I should keep it. The company is very nice. Said to try it. I find the bottom pan on my 6-in-1 can scratch easily. Thank you.
I haven't had it scratch because it sits on the ledge on the XL grill. I'm sure it's possible that it could scratch it, but I love using it and will deal with scratches if they happen.
It's too expensive to make because some of the ingredients have to be ordered in bulk and are pricey for good quality. It would cost too much and make about 10 pounds of rub, so I doubt anyone would want to do that. Jeff is looking into having it bottled for sale and then we will sell it in smaller quantities so it's affordable.
Which model is this? It looks like the "grill/griddle or the Foodi XL-6-1.. I ask, because I got a Foodi IG350 Q and can't find it listed on the Ninja website- so I'll be returning it. But I was going to order the Grill/Griddle because I can make breakfast on the griddle
Is this really worth having another large appliance like this when we Have the 61/2 qt Foodi? I make delicious Pork chops Chicken and fish in my Ninja Foodi. Have not purchased a steak for over a year. The prices are unrealistic where I live for 2 steaks of almost any cut
I'm not sure what you mean by "is there anything different I should be thinking of?" The Ninja Foodi 6.5 qt is awesome! I'm sure there is a way to do this meal in there, but I haven't thought it through yet.
In the UK WE CANNOT AFFORD 1,5 thick fillets steaks can you give temp and cooking times times for slightly less than 1 inch steak’s, I could afford them when I lived in South Africa, it saves us doing to much experimenting as meat is so expensive

My XL grill puts out a lot of smoke no matter the setting. How can stop 🛑 it ?
Have you cleaned the screen lately? I find I have to clean mine almost every time I use it.
Also do not use olive oil. You must use oil with a higher smoke point like avocado, grape seed, etc.

Where do I get the pan the broccoli is in?
It's a 6"x2" Fat Daddio pan: (affiliate link) amzn.to/3qlLbJa
@@TheSaltedPepper awesome thank you so much I went to your Amazon store and found them look before you ask Dee lol. Thanks again
Can you use parchment paper for covering the broccoli?
Unless it was secured somehow, it would blow up into the lid.
I have a 6.5 qt 11 in 1 ninja foodi. Is there anything different i should be thinking of? I’m a ninja rookie?
I'm not sure what you mean by "is there anything different I should be thinking of?" The Ninja Foodi 6.5 qt is awesome! I'm sure there is a way to do this meal in there, but I haven't thought it through yet.
What brand do you use for a thermometer?
I use 2 different thermometers, but my favorite is my Thermapen MK4.
That grate at $49.99 is a bit pricey. Debating about purchasing 🤔 all of your videos are great.
Can a stew be done on this machine?
Is your grill grate a little rough on the edges?
Not really, but there are some sharp spots.
What if you have a large turkey breast and the probe is to short to make it into the middle?
Can this be done in the ninja foodie
I'm sure it can, but I haven't thought it through yet.
