I’ve had my Ninja 5 in 1 grill (unfortunately it’s not the XL 😢) for 3 years and use it all the time. My only complaint is that the grill is only 10” square and the handles are in the way sometimes. One tip I’ve found to help clean the grill is to add water and run the machine for about 5 minutes. It loosens any stuck on food.

Got mine last weekend, used it yesterday and cooked about a hand sized steak. Salt, pepper, and olive oil on one side (says not to use olive oil but ninja can't tell me what to do 😈). Used the meat probe and put it on the higher side or medium rare. Came out perfect and tender, was blown away by the results

Banana bread, meatloaf, the best fastest garlic Parm wings, chicken quesadillas, western omelettes & biscuits, tatertot cheesy taco bake, cheesecake and a great steak. I'm quite impressed and the cooking time is 1/2-1/3 less time. It's fun and super easy to use.

Just a note before I freeze my meat , I always put my spices or rubs on the meat. I only vacuum seal chicken individually. Sometimes I want something different than my son. The frozen to cook is great if you forgot to pull something out for donner 😊.

I bought one of these recently. Really appreciate ;your video. Considering that the only fail is the carrots, not bad. I have used an air fryer for about 4 years now. Started with the pot belly one which I still like a lot but ended up getting one that I could also use as a toaster oven and some other functions 2 years ago. Have not been impressed with steaks done in either versions. I think this will be the game changer. Thank you so much for your review and your tips and helps.

Just a guess but I am thinking that the “no flip” is meant for people who do not like to cook and don’t want to have to mess with it. Meaning you can flip it if you want that perfect cook but if you are not worried about it you don’t have to flip it.

Just got this from Amazon and I must say your video was great. This is our first air fryer and I really appreciated how you demonstrated its capabilities. From my experience with this air fryer, I think the probe doesn't work well when you stick it in half way through the cook. I've tried with frozen steaks a couple of times and it always comes out undercooked. Could be that the oil/heat from outside as you put it in affects the measurement of the meat's internal temperature

Best review I have ever seen! I have this, I let it set for a few months, it was so intimidating to me. I have actually only cooked meat in it. It has been perfect! Strange, my burgers or anything else for that matter has not smoked. I certainly don't wash the grate every time. I have not used the air fryer part, still a tad confused on how the settings work. 😊

@@TheAverageKitchen Great review... This product was a random gift so I didn't know what I was getting into. I find it better for me as I'm cooking for one person verses cooking in a large oven. Heat may be more centralized and consistent as well because of the smaller space. I find cook times are much faster than the traditional oven but the ninja has many more options.

I 100% plan on getting one because like your brother, I don’t grill outside during the winter lol. I only have one issue though, which one do I get! Do I get the first generation which is what you reviewed, or do I get the second generation of this grill? Oh btw! You can air fry without the crisper basket, you can actually just use the bottom basket if you needed more room. I learned that from another reviewer.

Here's a thought. Throw a bunch of burgers (or anything you like to grill) on your outside grill. Cook halfway and let cool off a little. Vacuum seal them individually and put in freezer. You can prepare in bulk or small batches...whatever. Then you can pull them out of the freezer anytime and throw them on the Ninja. Happy grilling my friends from the great white north.

@@TheAverageKitchen - Since you're a grillin' man, here's one more. Take a pork shoulder (Boston butt roast) and put a good dry rub on it overnight in the fridge. Next day fire up your grill and mix up a bowl of basting sauce...1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 hot sauce. Cook 30 minutes per pound and turn once every 30 minutes. Brush or spray on some basting sauce every time you turn. Your roast will be almost done at the end of this (40 minutes per pound would entirely cook the roast on the grill). Take your nearly done roast and put it in a dutch oven with a cup of water. Put in a 300 degree oven and let it slow cook until the roast falls apart. Remove the roast and put in a large bowl. Remove any large pieces of fat. Pull the pork apart. Stir in your favorite bbq sauce...however much you want. And there you go, the best BBQ on earth. I take almost all of my bbq and put it into tupperware containers in the freezer for later use. I actually hold of on the bbq sauce until I take my shredded pork out of the freezer and add it in as I heat up small portions of bbq.

If i dont do that in my mobile, the kitchen ceiling piss's water from the steam leaching through the ceiling tiles and accumulating till a hole forms then drains after a period of time. Drove me nuts for yrs till i started using the range vent . Also, Coffee makers emit huge amounts of steam .

Sirs…when I first saw 40+ minutes on your video I thought it would be full of silliness. My hand was on FF just in case. I put down my Apple Remote because simply stated, your video was absolutely FANTASTIC. Just the right amount of humor! I was hooked when the manufacturer said don’t place the entire unit in the oven or dishwasher🤪😆. I’m being slightly facetious, of course. A little disappointed in the temp probe and your probe on the Chix temp but I’d rather have it done then not. Keep up the great work, Sirs.

I received one of these recently but I can't say that I see it as useful. It does the trick if you don't know how, or don't have the equipment to cook certain things a certain way. The air frying is good but not as good as fat frying. The grill is good but not as good as outdoor grilling. (not even close) etc. The only thing that it does that I may use is the dehydrator. That is if it works 'as good' as a stand alone dehydrator.

Great video! Just purchased one and cooked four burgers 1st thing (2+2). Didn't really notice that much smoke on the first two, but definately had some on the second batch. And no, the screen was not dirty at all after initial two. In fact, the dang thing set off my smoke alarm on burgers 3/4! These were not frozen and turned out really good. Six minutes for a perfect medium rare - Living in Michigan, not much grilling going on in the winter months, so I see this as a great alternative. I read through alot of the comments, but didn't see any responses to your 30 degree difference in temperature on the frozen chicken. Any answers to why that happened? Did the chicken seem that much over done? Curious on how this worked out, and if you had similar results after that inital cook? Thanks again - learned alot in a short amount of time!

Excellent video! Love your sense of humour with eachother. I have just brought this model and I have made a roast chicken with potatoes, curry in base on bake, pasta sauce on bake, chips and fish fingers on airfryer, bacon and sausages. One thing I’ve learned is it takes less time to cook on certain things. Haven’t used my oven since buying it.
Wondering about difference in probe temperatures? Mine matched my own one but I’m in Uk. Was the chicken dry at all? 😊

Job well done Canadian neighbors, I just got one for cheap ($164.85) at Kohl’s here in the States. Looking forward to trying it out with some T-Bone Steaks... Mmmmm
FYI: try seasoning you're chicken then placing them vacuum bag and place them in the refrigerator overnight, then place them in the freezer until ready to cook. When you are ready to cook them I would not cook them frozen, I would place them back into the refrigerator and let them thaw out then place the on the Foodi Smart Indoor Grill. Anyways keep up the good work.

Question: Not a criticism-- I am thinking about getting one of these. Why use the Air Fry basket for wings or even fries? The grill pan has over an inch lip and a larger surface area, so you should be able to get about the same volume of food and spread it out more. It seem like it would work better for crisping. Have you ever tried that?

    • @TheAverageKitchen
      @TheAverageKitchen  2 года назад +4

The purpose of the basket, or at least I believe it is…. Is the ability to shake up the fries and or wings vs having to use tongs to try and flip everything off the grill. Make sense ? Cheers. Marc

    Hello guys,
Nice review, couple of comments, it is actually non smokeless….It is true you won’t see the smoke like when bbq-ing, but still, there is a steam… you won’t see because of the big vortex…. Also good point about the pan and the grill…. will they scratch themselves in time…. All I saw, the machine/ unit superior rim got scratched. Anything else is kosher, it does perform as advertise but keep in mind the common sense when cooking. It is good for those freezing days when the BBQ would be an “adventure”. Cheers and Bon Appétit!😎
